For those who couldn't figure it out yet, I actually did No-Kill on Night 5. Which may have seemed like a dumb move, because if I shot Kirsche at that time, then I only needed ONE mislynch (and not two) in order to win. But I realized that we'd likely No Lynch on Day 6, and I didn't think I had a good chance of evading the final lynch if I roleclaimed yet another protective role that hasn't been proven. So I decided to No-Kill on Night 5, and although it would have required me to perform two mislynches (instead of one), I had hoped that the lack of deaths in N5 would have proven my role, thus allowing me to win the game. Of course, I didn't actually think that Kirsche would completely ignore the events of Night 5, so yeah... As for why I did not shoot Kirsche in N6, it's because Wen Yang told me to protect him. I wanted to maximize my chances of winning, so I didn't even want Wen Yang to think of me as confirmed scum (even though I intended to get him lynched). Had Wen Yang analyzed N5 as well, I would have expected him to deduce that Kirsche must be scum. Unfortunately, Wen Yang decided to flip a coin instead and Kirsche... also decided to flip a coin.. I did keep targeting you though btw, with my half-Driver ability, so Psych's results wouldn't contradict my claim. And I let Strawman do all of the killing until he died, at the same time as Darros, letting me feel safe at shooting other people at the same time. I still question this tbh. I think people would still have trusted you as the nurse to stay alive. It was defintiely doable. Possibly, yes, but it would have been much more risky. I would have needed to shoot two people before the final lynch. If I shot you, Annie would be suspecting me. If I shot Wen Yang and Snike, it would be really difficult to convince either you or Annie to lynch the other. Annie couldn't be shot. My Nurse claim would have been too suspicious, especially since I never succeeded in saving ANYBODY. Of course, I might have won anyways, but NKing at N5 seemed more like a guaranteed victory... except I hadn't anticipated that both you and Wen Yang to vote for me when both of you should have instantly suspected each other when analyzing N5. Tables pointed out one of the many host mistakes in the game: I didn't make it clear enough to the Mafias that dead players could keep advising their teams. Player skill was rigged for this faction. Amusingly enough, were it not for Kevin, they would have killed off the Red Mafia entirely. Killed Strawman and attempted to kill Proto based on suspecting them of being the Town Cop. Had the fakeclaims Feraligatr, Kingdra, and Nidoqueen, Town Doctor. Freohr Datia (Agnaktor) You are Dialga G You would normally oppose this tyranny, but you've been brainwashed by the advanced technology of Team Galactic, and stirring up chaos can only help them achieve their goals. During the night, you may reply to your role PM with "Night X - Halt <USER>'s progress through time". <USER> will be immobilized, and any actions they were attempting to carry out during that phase will fail. You are allied with the Mafia. You win when all threats to the Mafia are eliminated. One of four players given a specific role. Well, not actually a specific role, just a specific faction. I thought she would improve quickly as a player if given an opportunity, so I deliberately put her in the Mafia along with one of the better and less harsh players. Had some good ideas, but mostly didn't say a lot outside the Mafia conversation. Claimed Oracle to Anouleth. I can't really say I see much basis for Feraligatr being an Oracle, but it was Core's idea. Tableskitty (I Eat Tables) You are Luxray GL The strongest of the Gym Leader Volkner's Pokemon, you know that you're stronger, faster, and all around better than any wild Pokemon. But that insignificant rabble is beginning to challenge your superiority, after a long time of properly acknowledging your leadership. With the help of a few other Pokemon, you intend to put a stop to their rebellion. During the night, you may reply to your role PM with "Night X - Drag <USER> forward with Bright Look". <USER> will be forced to move out of safety, and if you attempt to kill them, any protective abilities will be ignored during that night. It will still be possible for your target to be changed, though. You can only use this ability thrice before running out of ways to remove yourself from play. You are allied with the Mafia. You win when all threats to the Mafia are eliminated. Another specifically picked role. Chosen because of Freohr. He took the lead in the Mafia, being one of the only players to keep an updated spreadsheet, although Core worked on it a fair amount early on. Would probably have been able to lead the town, or at least survive for quite a while, but he got unlucky with his choice of fakeclaim and Fear the Pika's death. Got a lot of players to tell him their roles for pretty much nothing. He killed Lorddomu because Lorddomu and 13thshadow both claimed Roleblocker, and Tables assumed that one was Mafia. Kumquat (Core)/TheTinyImp You are Garchomp C You are a loyal friend to both the Sinnoh League Champion Cynthia, and to a few of your fellow Pokemon, who have asked you to take their side in this conflict. You were unsure of whether it was a good idea, but the wild Pokemon have already thought up some barbaric plan to kill each other off. Clearly, they must be stopped. During the night, you may reply to your role PM with "Night X - Remove all damage counters from <USER>". <USER> will be fully healed, and any attempts to kill them during that phase won't do enough damage. You cannot protect yourself. You are allied with the Mafia. You win when all threats to the Mafia are eliminated. Core played a fairly standard game for a while, then lost motivation. TinyImp mostly just brainstormed strategies with Freohr after Tables died, but didn't really mess anything up, either. Was lynched before she had any chance of defending herself. Core's role was semi-random: there were several players I picked to possibly get it, but not all. [spoiler=Red Mafia (MVP: Proto)] The theme of this mafia was less obvious, and the roles were slightly less common. Unlike the Blue Mafia, they probably could have gotten away with claiming their actual cards. All the cards in this Mafia are the basis of first-turn-win decks, which is the only thing connecting them. This is vaguely alluded to in the flavor, but not really noticeably. Their fakeclaims were Absol, Blissey, and Shaymin, Town Driver. Kiku-Ichimonji (Proto) You are Uxie You only wanted to help, but now a lot of your old friends resent you for your success. Some have even want you gone completely, it seems. You had been at a loss for what to do, but retaliating against the others feels... right. During the night, you may reply to your role PM with "Night X - Swapping <USER>". <USER> will be switched with the target of someone else with the same ability as you, causing all actions targeting one of those two players to affect the other instead. You cannot target yourself. You are allied with the Mafia. You win when all threats to the Mafia are eliminated. Started softclaiming Blissey, Town Nurse after Clipsey died. Had been pretending to coordinate actions with Kirsche and Anouleth. Fooled JB later in the game by pretending to want to lose. I'm not a skilled enough player to be certain, but I'm pretty sure that NKing on N5 was one of the smartest moves I've seen for a while. Would probably have won the game if not for an unplanned result of the rules. He did seem to overestimate how much Kevin trusted him, though. Knew his other half wasn't mafia thanks to Paperblade confirming his role as "the scum half of a driver team". Radiant Kitty (Radiant Dragon)/JBCWKitty (JBCWK) You are Shuppet You may be young, but you're clever and street-smart, and while you were ignored for a long time, your friends and mentors in the Mafia finally recognized your skills. It doesn't seem fair for them to kill so many other Pokemon, but despite your youth, you know better than most how rarely life is fair. Loyalty is more important to you. During the night, you may reply to your role PM with "Night X - Vanish after killing the next target". You will be sent on the nightkill automatically, but will use Fade Out to disappear before being seen by any other roles. You can only use this ability five times. Because of your young age, your alignment will appear as Town to any investigative roles. You are allied with the Mafia. You win when all threats to the Mafia are eliminated. RD talked to a bunch of people before being subbed out, mostly Clipsey, Tables, and Psych. He fakeclaimed Uxie to Psych, which would have been a problem for his team if Proto had died first, but did convince Psych to confide in him. JB mostly yelled at people after he died, and somewhat less frequently yelled at people before he died, but played fairly well. Strawman the DucksawDucky You are Sableye You were mocked and overlooked for a long time, and now that others have finally seen your true talent, they shunned you again, this time out of jealousy. Recently you heard of a rumor that some of the Pokemon you had shown up wanted you done away with quietly, and with the help of a few trusted friends, you plan to strike first. During the night, you may reply to your role PM with "Night X - Ask about <USER>". You will go talk to <USER> in the middle of the night, imitating one of <USER>'s friends. They will be unable to recognize you in the dark, and will happily give you their role PM. You are allied with the Mafia. You win when all threats to the Mafia are eliminated. Was really quiet. Claimed Town Cop to Anouleth, inadvertently making him suspect Proto. Got pretty lucky with his targets, finding the Bulletproof and confirming the existence of the Blue Mafia. [spoiler=Town (MVP: eclipse)] Clipseykitty (Eclipse) You are Mew It's not that you want to annoy the others. You only ever want to have fun, but they overreact to your teasing and pranks so often. Hopefully you can confuse the Mafia, too, at least. Maybe then everyone will understand that you didn't mean to bother them... During the night, you may reply to your role PM with "Night X - Transform into <ROLE>". <ROLE> can be either Vigilante, Cop, or Doctor. If you are killed at any time after that night, a role PM corresponding to that role will be "revealed" as yours instead of this one. You can change which role you will appear to have had as many times as you want. Inspection results before your death will be unaffected, and you will be revealed to be Mew no matter which role you choose. You are allied with the Town. You win when all threats to the Town are eliminated. Another specifically assigned role, because I wasn't sure how many players would use it well. Clipsey had what is probably the weirdest role in this game. It was designed to be able to fool the mafia into thinking they got rid of a powerful role, and to mess with claims. Depending on her choice, she could have countered one role from each faction (Blue Doctor, Red Cop, Town Vigilante). Ended up also potentially ruining Proto's claim, both if Snike had noticed that there couldn't be a Nurse without a Doctor, and because she figured out that Proto was the other Driver. She gets MVP for that, playing well in general, and doing exactly what I wanted this role to do. Blitz kitty You are Machamp Someone told you there were bad guys to smash, but you just can't remember who they were... For that matter, you can't remember who the bad guys were, either. Smashing someone is a good job for you, though, and you wanted to help. During the night, you may reply to your role PM with "Night X - Take Out <USER>". <USER> will be killed. You can use this ability any number of times, but if you successfully kill more than one Town-aligned player, you will facepalm at your mistake. Unfortunately, because of your incredible strength, you will break your skull doing so, resulting in your own death. Also, since killing anyone is suspicious, and you're not very good at hiding your intention, your alignment will appear as Mafia to any investigative roles. You are allied with the Town. You win when all threats to the Town are eliminated. Another deliberately assigned role. I wanted to see whether he would be ridiculously trigger-happy, or if I was right about him playing more conservatively when necessary. Turns out, I was right. He idled until Night 3, and Fear the Pika was a reasonable target due to his lack of activity. Unfortunately, he was a somewhat fatal target. It was because of this that Tables was lynched, though, so once again Blitz took out a mafia member with his own death. Amusingly enough, he thought of the same fakeclaim Tables did. Kopfjager (Wen Yang) You are Gyarados Simple streetfights are one thing, but involving everyone in them this way is quite another. Plenty of Pokemon won't be able to fight back, so you'll have to do it for them. If three or more players allied with the Town die during the night, your vote will count as two during the following day phase. You are allied with the Town. You win when all threats to the Town are eliminated. Didn't do much. In retrospect, his role was horribly bad, and should really have either not had that restriction, or had another ability when it activated. His one extra vote went toward lynching mafia, at least. arachnidsGrip (Psych) You are Azelf As one of the three Spirit Pokemon, you are determined to do anything to stop this nightmare. During the night, you may reply to your role PM with "Night X - Look out for who goes near <USER>". You will use your psychic abilities to keep watch around the area <USER> is in, and will learn who used an ability on them during that phase. You cannot target yourself. You are allied with the Town. You win when all threats to the Town are eliminated. Took a chance on the theory that the lake trio had roles that were connected in some way. Caught on to Proto being Mafia based on the non-logic that Proto targeted Kevin to kill him, and Kevin didn't die because he protected himself while being roleblocked. Sho.M.The.Panty/Chaoskitty (Kaoz) You are Manectric The other Pokemon are mostly cowards, trying to escape, but it's nothing unexpected. Not that you condemn them for it. No one would choose such weakness. It's up to the strong to fight this battle, though. During the night, you may reply to your role PM with "Night X - Stand guard for <USER>". You will stay near <USER>, and will distract anyone trying to use an ability on them, causing them to target you instead. You are allied with the Town. You win when all threats to the Town are eliminated. Sho didn't do a whole lot. Kaoz talked to a lot of people, mostly Tables, but didn't do anything particularly outstanding. Kirsche (Kevin) You are Steelix You're one of the sturdiest Pokemon, and can almost certainly survive a little uproar. Probably. During the night, you may reply to your role PM with "Night X - Ward off <USER>'s enemies". You will wait near <USER> and try to look intimidating to scare others away. You'll just look like a very large pile of boulders in the darkness, though, so no one will actually be kept away. However, if anyone tries to kill <USER>, you will attack them before they can do any serious harm, and they will be killed instead of <USER>. Once this ability has successfully prevented your target from being killed, you will be unable to use it again. You are allied with the Town. You win when all threats to the Town are eliminated. Talked a reasonable amount, was one of the few people to be much use in the thread later on, and his gut suspicions ended up winning the game for the town. He was the other candidate for Town MVP, and I would have chosen him for sure if he had thought out his vote more carefully before posting it. As it is, I don't know for sure how much of it was luck. Still, deciding between him and Clipsey was really hard, and Kevin's actions definitely were more directly useful. Luka M (Reinfleche) You are Mesprit So much sadness, hatred, regret, pain... You have to do something to stop it. No matter what the cost. During the night, you may reply to your role PM with "Night X - Read <USER>'s mind". However, all the negative emotions have weakened your powers, and you will be unable to learn anything about <USER> except their type. You are allied with the Town. You win when all threats to the Town are eliminated. Talked to Psych, roleclaimed, didn't do much else. Darros (Spykor) You are Lucario You and your kind have always stood for justice, and you will continue to uphold it. These villains will not remain hidden for long! During the night, you may reply to your role PM with "Night X - Search out <USER>". You will identify <USER>'s Aura, and follow their movements to learn who they target that night. You are allied with the Town. You win when all threats to the Town are eliminated. Played reasonably well. He was modkilled for quoting his role PM to Anouleth. 13thshadow/Sober Emo Girl You are Umbreon No one's ever been really sure whether to trust you, and hopefully now, you can convince them that you're useful to have around. Maybe this could turn out to be a good thing after all... During the night, you may reply to your role PM with "Night X - Prevent special effects from bothering <USER>". All abilities targeting <USER> during that phase will fail, with the exception of kills. You cannot target yourself. You are allied with the Town. You win when all threats to the Town are eliminated. 13thshadow used OC more than I expected him to, sheeped horribly, and got Tables to claim mafia to him by not knowing the standard name of his role. Most spectacularly, he wreaked havoc on N0 with his targeting, causing a lot of people to think there might be a Lightningrod in the game. I'd call it a pretty average performance, really. SEG didn't have enough time to catch up with the game, and, unfortunately for the town, didn't see Tables's mistake in time. Snikitty (Snike)/Mysterio You are Gardevoir Compared to some of the other Pokemon, you aren't that strong or skilled, but there has to be something you can do. If you can help anyone to survive, any risk to your own life will be nothing... During the night, you may reply to your role PM with "Night X - Swapping <USER>". <USER> will be switched with the target of someone else with the same ability as you, causing all actions targeting one of those two players to affect the other instead. Snike played reasonably well, but didn't notice the info he needed to lynch Proto in time. Idled once he figured out that his other half was likely to be mafia. He was subbed out due to me posting Kevin's role PM when Anouleth was lynched. Mysterio, unfortunately, didn't get much chance to play. lorddomu You are Vileplume You really don't like Items. Every time you try to use them, they get all stopped up with pollen and don't work and it's always so annoying. It isn't fair that other Pokemon can use Items so easily, and you want to stop them, particularly losers who rely on them like you heard the Mafia does. During the night, you may reply to your role PM with "Night X - Make <USER>'s allergies slow them down". <USER> will inhale too much pollen and will spend all night sneezing, so they will be unable to perform their night action. You are allied with the Town. You win when all threats to the Town are eliminated. Chose an awesome N0 target. Mostly he was just Normal Townie #3. He indirectly could have helped get Tables killed if 13th/SEG were active. Fear the Pika You are Gengar The Mafia doesn't scare you. You'll just play your usual tricks on them. But if things do go wrong for you, you have one more trick to play... If you are killed during the night phase, whoever killed you will also die. If you are lynched, the last person to vote for you will be killed. You are allied with the Town. You win when all threats to the Town are eliminated. Was inactive, usually. Claimed absurd roles (Mad Cop) to Proto and Tables in the hope of baiting a mafia kill. Didn't fakeclaim to anyone else, so his intuition was pretty good, at least. Ironically, he was killed for inactivity by the vigilante. Anouleth You are Mewtwo You were created to be the strongest of all Pokemon, and there's no way you'll be taken down by these punks. Any attempts to kill you during the night will fail. Any other kills, such as lynches, are unaffected. You are allied with the Town. You win when all threats to the Town are eliminated. Didn't look closely enough at Eclipse's reasons for wanting to be lynched. Was really quiet, considering his role, but his suspicions were pretty accurate. I figured that the more people died, the higher the chance that one of my "claims" would die. While I was alive, I wasn't useful. However, if the bad guys knew my role, it wouldn't matter if I was dead or alive; the illusion would be broken, and then I truly would be useless. Therefore, I rigged my own death, first by having Snike start a lynch against me, and then pretty much doing everything in my power to irk you guys. I hoped that all the actions during D2 would be used to help scumhunt later. Looks like I only succeeded halfway. So, my apologies for getting on your collective nerves. If it had just said one of the lake trio, I doubt I would have paid much attention to it. Also, can you explain what Umbreon did that made everything crazy exactly? I still don't get it.
