Narga_Rocks
So in my other topic, it looked like some people actually played this game. Just curious what the different avatars you've made from the different games. The only avatar I've completed the first game with had Light Weapons 11 - Light Blades 11 + White Magic 12 - Boons 12 + Life 12. And I think Heavy 2 in order to get the first two skills there. In Spellforce 2, I beat it twice but can't remember all the skills. Oh, and if anyone is reading this and hasn't got it, it's cheap on steam. Rather cheap considering you get like 3 games for $10. Then you can come here and talk about it! Or at least play the demos. Edited September 23, 2011 by Narga_Rocks
nflchamp
The game I have in progress in the first one involves Heavy and Earth magic. Looking it up, Heavy 4, Large Blade 4, Elemental 4, Earth 4 at the moment. Only at The Shiel. <_<
Narga_Rocks
For another 5 and a half hours you can pick up the entire series (Spellforce 1 and 2 plus the 3 expansions) at GamersGate for $5. Woo. Is that kind of like advertising? Well, I give myself permission. It's worth it, trust me. Spellforce Universe. edit: almost over. Ends at midnight pacific time Edited September 26, 2011 by Narga_Rocks
BrightBow
Well it's been a while but when I tried playing through it, I think I mostly invested in light weapons, White magic and Ice magic. I had given up on it though, because the Avatar would never fight on his own unless directly attacked and since he is almost equally strong as the army he commands, this was kind of a problem. I'm not sure how I'm supposed to manually have him select a new enemies every 2 seconds while also managing a whole army, especially those wizards who think it's a good idea to rush forward and club orcs with their staff, which may look cool but isn't very effective. Ultimately the Avatar didn't contribute much except casting the occasional spell which wasn't something he was specialized and I eventually just gave up out of frustration. I figured I should try again with a pure spellcaster but I never got around to do it. Edited September 26, 2011 by BrightBow
Narga_Rocks
The Tab button selects a new enemy, but it's kind of annoying as the thing doesn't always pick something that is actually on the screen and sometimes it's up a cliff. And yeah, sometimes the avatar doesn't actually get to fight anything because the rest of your army is in the way (unless you are casting at the enemy or have bows or something). I generally just stick to AoE spells during the RTS battles unless my avatar happens to be in the thick of things. Spamming AoE healing can be particularly useful in keeping the units alive considering the army has low enough individual hp that the area healing is quite effective. I generally group three or four sets of long range and one set of melee units and cycle through with the tab button telling them to attack different enemies. The ability to select an enemy with tab and then use the buttons at the top to have different things attack it I always found quite useful. BrightBow
Thank you, I think I will give it another try as soon as I find the CDs.
Blasied
I went back to spellforce 2 recently. I seem to be specialised in light weapons and dark magic. It seems to hate my computer though, because it crashes a bit too frequently.

In sf1 I tried a black + mind combo (forget precisely which of the subcategories, though) but couldn't complete The Rift and had to give up. In sf2, I've done duel wield + white and also heavy something or other + earth. Earth is hilarious in sf2 because you can decimate buildings in seconds which makes certain things a lot easier. There's a spell that takes off like half the hp of the building in one shot.
