I like them on most of the time, but I tend to turn off the heavy armored units' animations. It's monotonous to me and quite slow.

I leave them on for the GBA games, but turn them off for the 3d ones. They are quick enough in the GBA games to not be a hassle, but they seemed to take forever and a half in Radiant Dawn, regardless of what units were being shown on the battle.

I left it on Map-Only.

Looks like I'm the only person here who plays with animation off nearly all the time, besides the exceptional Endgame chapter of PoR. The map animations are enough to keep me content.

Well ironically, the animations are what got me into FE in the first place with Blazing Sword, oh how much I've changed. :s

I've tried turning off battle animations in order to save time, but I quickly found out that I couldn't manage without them. The games donen't have the same 'feel' to me without the battle animations.
