General Horace
Franz. Tethys and Saleh. You sir, just won the game.
zahlman
You sir, just won the game. Glad you approve. With no flier utility except possibly lol Syrene, dancer utility would seem to be a must. And Saleh is huge for the window where he's available and Myrrh isn't. I strongly considered Gerik instead though (not Duessel, because I'm doing Eirika's route, because I fkn hate the pirate ship, among other reasons). Although if it's that clear-cut, then either the others all messed up, or FE8 standard drafting needs to be revisited... Refa
I'm doing Ephraim's route, so...yeah. Saleh and Tethys aren't nearly as good or helpful there.
General Horace
Well you have one of the biggest gamebreakers in the game in Franz, the best warper by far in Saleh, and a dancer. IMO you shouldn't have gotten both Tethys and Saleh, but people tend to underrate both. Especially Saleh, as he can pretty much solo the desert with no assistance. And Refa, Eirika's route is quite a few turns shorter in the first place.

He just started pumping the hell out of his mobility with Tethys and the best Warper. If he retains any sense at all (and some of his opponents continue not to) past this round there's really no way he can not win. Ephraim route goers: don't do it

MacLovin
Gerik ftw. Made Natasha free, and 1 trainee free. Which trainee should it be. Edited December 7, 2011 by Silver Harpoon
General Horace
Making free units halfway through drafts is weird. Also, there is only usually one unit leftover in SS drafts, so you don't need a free trainee.

zahlman
5. Colm/Rennac may use their theiving utility as much as they want, and may train in the tower, but they will take a penelty for entering combat. Whoa whoa whoa This is new and requires explanation The tower is combat, and do they have to solo or what? Also are you talking about an additional permission when they're drafted, or an additional restriction even when they're drafted? And yeah you really really should get this kind of thing sorted out before the draft selection starts. Think before you put up a draft man. Sigh-Theives may be trained in the tower to raise their speed in order to steal items However, unless drafted as a combat unit, they will take a 4 turn penelty if they enter combat
zahlman
Sigh-Theives may be trained in the tower to raise their speed in order to steal items ... So do they have to solo or what? Also are you talking about an additional permission when they're drafted, or an additional restriction even when they're drafted? I.E. do they have to be drafted to steal, pick chests and doors, etc.? Edited December 7, 2011 by zahlman

No However, entering combat in anywhere BUT THE TOWER, will insure a penelty.

Naglfar
So you spontaneously made Natasha free, and now Colm/Rennac have pretty much zero draft value (how long has this been here?). Why?
zahlman
So you spontaneously made Natasha free, and now Colm/Rennac have pretty much zero draft value (how long has this been here?). Why? To screw over the guy who picked Moulder first round? :| Or maybe to demonstrate that he has no understanding of why the standard draft rules are as they are I took Colm anyway because certain acts of thievery will be easier if he doesn't have to be escorted immediately to avoid an EP round. Naglfar
Certain acts of thievery are pretty trivial if you just have Colm hang in the back and not walk into anyone's range. Then again, that energy ring...

Then again, that energy ring... DAT energy ring is exactly what I was thinking of. I'm sure you can imagine why, looking at my team. Also, I figure he's better early-game combat than Ross. Especially if we can train the thieves in the tower and not the recruits (wtf?). Although I honestly might not bother training him much if at all. This might matter since (a) rout maps (b) certain Franz rushes might leave some enemies behind. Edited December 8, 2011 by zahlman
General Horace
So, you could theoretically have a level 20/20 Assassin/Rogue in Chapter 10, amirite?
