I have pretty much no inhibitions about hacking in limited events like that because frankly, I think limiting those events is dumb to begin with. Because the "every pokemon found is a shiny" code can seriously fuck up the game (create bad eggs, corrupt save files, etc) Besides, it took me <40 resets anyways. The first one was a shiny Whismur in Ruby (had strange green ears, so I captured it). Then in Firered (or was it LeafGreen), found a Golbat in the Unknown Dungeon Cerulean Cave. And then there's gen 6, where it's apparently easier than ever to get a shiny (got a shiny Togepi (MM), Torchic (no MM), Sigilyph (FS), Phantump (FS), and Bellsprout (Horde)) And now I have a shiny Shaymin - and I do count shiny resetting as a legit shiny. Hell I'd probably count RNG abused shiny Pokemon as legit because damn do you have to work hard to RNG abuse without emulator tools.
