Sorry if this sounds stupid but having severe difficulty running feditor adv on my new laptop (Solved)

Never had a single problem with it on my old laptop. This is driving me crazy, also in case it is important old laptop that it had no problems with was vista, new laptop that I can't run it on is windows 8. I am extremely frustrated so please bear with me if I'm missing something simple -_-;

I think so... I got it from the link that said always latest version... I can't seem to locate a version number though

Yes I extracted it, and deleted the original zipped file though I can always redownload that if need be.

THAT is most likely actually due to some problem with the way the project was built

is there a file named "Manifest.MF" in the folder anywhere

okay

first off make sure you have python installed

open up notepad, paste this into a notepad file, then save it as "MANIFEST.MF" (capitalization not optional, make sure it's not MANIFEST.MF.TXT or something as well) into your main FEditor file (it should be at the same level as the folder "dist")

Class-Path: lib/appframework-1.0.3.jar lib/swing-worker-1.1.jar

then, run "build.py" from that same level

if you get an error about not finding "FEditorAdvance\App.java" or something of the sort replace "build.py" with this and try again

run "FE_Editor" not "FEditorAdvance" or whatever it's called

if that doesn't work i can't think of what might be the issue

i blame windows 8

Okay I went and got the version off my old computer, made sure it still worked on that one first, and it doesn't work on this one. Could I get a link to FE_Editor, all I can find via google is fe_editor adv....

if you followed my instructions and there were no errors

there should be a "FE_Editor.jar" in the 'dist' folder
