Rosalina amiibo

For those who want one are in luck as they are soon selling these to nearly all retailers in Canada. Amiibos have no region lock, so go ahead and get them anywhere.

They were sold out everywhere already so don't even bother with the Canadian retailers. Not to mention the amiibo supplies in Canada are 5 times worse than the US.

A friend of mine preordered Shulk way back when it was available to and the store confirmed they're only getting 6 of the 35 that the store preordered. That's just how bad the amiibo shipping supplies are in Canada.

dude

anyone with the slightest interest in the smash competitive scene, especially the SSB4 scene, should watch this video

explains about stock counts and time limits, and why they exist, and why they do or don't work

EDIT: explicitly stated, it explains why lowering the match timer increases average match length

Funny how an increased timer can encourage shorter matches, but it really does make a lot of sense. It's the problem I have with time matches in general; they encourage camping and dodging over offense when in the lead (he said there was no objective reason for stock over time, but I'm pretty sure this is one). I'd play a lot more 2v2 For Glory if they were stock instead of time.

for the record, the relatively exhaustive stats that someone ran actually had 3-stock SSB4 matches be on average 40 seconds longer than 2-stock matches, BUT that didn't account for time limits at all.

and 40 seconds is not actually very much for a single stock.

Wow! :O

Toad Amiibo's already aren't available for pre-order at Gamestop, or amazon.com. Toad must be the be the most wanted Mario Character! Toad is awesome! Glad that I've pre-ordered him! ...And they've just shipped my Ike amiibo today since he is now out of print. Both of these getting for $13.00. They have everyone else (Mario Party Mario Characters) right now available for pre-order!

Plus he's the only one who doesn't have a smash equivalent so I'm guessing that drove his demand way up.

Went to my local Best Buy looking for amiibos. Walked out with this bad boy instead.

...Except there weren't any adapters there (as expected). Has anyone else also have local Best Buys restock controllers?

Did it.

Now Mewtwo is mine on March 31st. Register it as soon as possible as you won't get it for free if you don't do this on your Nintendo Club account by March 31st.

So I finally ventured out into the online mode the other day and immediately noticed the following things:

1) The competition was a lot harder that I faced in Brawl's online.

2) Trying to pull off DK's Final Smash is horrendously difficult, especially due to the lag I experienced.

3) I really, really hate Little Mac players. So cheap.

Really? There wasn't even a For Glory equivalent in Brawl. It was all time FFAs with items. Of course it's gonna seem harder.

I rip on anon online matches in Smash 4 all the time, but Brawl anon matches were terrible in comparison.

Shulk is a good counter for Little Mac, since he has good reach, the best Counter in the game, (a necessity in some cases) an ability to exploit Little Mac's light weight with Smash, and he has a British accent, which always trumps grunts.

Block their dash, throw them off the edge, repeat. Mac's good at what he does, but his air and off stage abilities are pretty much non-existent.

He's also /very/ gimpable, throw him off stage and if he's under 80%, just chase him / projectile him. His throws are very underwhelming, so he'll normally DashA when dashing

Even during development, they said they're going to give both games the exact same roster. They wouldn't make Mewtwo Wii U-only.

Just imagine the shitstorm regarding Ice Climbers' cut if Mewtwo was Wii U-only.
