My problem is, even if it can be explained, when I heard it I thought, "...Really?" and I was pulled out of the moment. If what you said really was the intention, I don't think that was the right place for it. Or at least it could have been demonstrated better? I dunno. I suppose it's understandable. It is meant to come off as awkward, but for Roxas it's not. If I remember right, he said it right as Xion was "dying" and he was already in the process of forgetting her, so perhaps it was a combination of both the situation and his lack to express it properly.
