I would prefer to play a finished hack if possible. :0 And I really liked using them at the points that I got them. They turned out excellent for me, though A supports probably helped. I wouldn't call them OP, but they certainly held their own alongside the rest of the team when decently trained. Karla was a speed demon, and Renault was a magical tank; dat resistance! So yeah, overall I prefer your hack to the normal Hector mode since I don't have to be ruled by the tutorial, don't have to do all those ridiculous things for 19xx chapter, and get these guys so much earlier. Once you fix up any last bugs (like that Lyn with A ranks in all weapons, ha), I'd like to download the final patch to play again in my own time.
