[spoiler=I have played ToX2 only a little bit yet (5h), but I can say this already.] It's basically the same overworld as in Xilla 1 so far with a few new towns. You begin in an area which belonged pretty much to the endgame in 1, so the places and dungeons are already familar. You have much more freedom. Besides the main story you can do sidestory with each of all your characters. All the characters look MUCH better and their personality is improved. Each of them is more interesting (except for Milla for not having her yet). There are a few new mechanics in this game. Some questions are based on time and affect the story afterwards.
