Main series DQ is the only DQ I've played.

I've never played Monsters or any other spin off.

You should try out the Monsters Joker series. It's actually a lot of fun, not gonna lie.

I might someday.

Gotta play a ton of main series first.

Yeah, I still gotta pick up 4, 5, and 6 on DS. And those games are either incredibly hard to find, or they are expensive as hell.

I mean really. Dragon Quest IV on DS? Lowest asking price is $99.99. @_@

Still waiting on the 3DS port of VII to come to the west.

Da heck?

I got DQIV DS for $15.00.

DQV DS for 35.

DQVI DS the lowest I can find is like 25.

Same on the DQVII 3DS.

...well, I found a cheaper one, and guess I could always buy DQIV DS for $23.95. Seems fair.

Problem is, I only have the money to get one of those games at current. Glac, you're the resident DQ fanatic. Which out of those three would you consider to be the best?

DQV.

By a lot.

I haven't played VI, but I have played IV and V.

DQIV is pretty good, but I think it's held back by a fairly insignificant flaw: CHAPTER 3. The chapter is probably the most boring thing I've ever seen in a DQ game. The reason is simple: practically all it is is grinding money and enemy drops to build a tunnel. Yeah.

DQV is pretty good. It's split into three parts, has a monster collection aspect (which inspired DQ Monsters.) And I don't find any part to be particularly boring.

It also has Henry/Harry, who is the only DQ char I've ever avi'd.

Good to know. Thanks Glac.

What, Torneko's chapter is boring!? Well, what would I know, haven't really played IV... maybe his Mystery Dungeon games are better in comparison, who knows...

Torneko's chapter is incredibly pointless.

There isn't even a single boss, which is probably my favorite part of DQ...
