When I reached the 50 pokemon on the chain, I'd stop entering grass and would reset the pokeradar until a shiny appeared, since the % would cap at around 40 or 50 iirc. This way, it didn't take long to find a shiny. Also, I totally miss remembered I got 15 shinnies this way, not 50 lol. I'd do that whenever I wasn't sure what was the right tile. No, the shiny grass has a shiny pokemon 100% of the time. Don't mistake the shiny grass for the fast moving regular grass, though.
