I don't think it is I don't think in a situation where your friend is being blatantly scoffed at and mocked despite knowing her situation would anyone really remain calm... at least I wouldn't. I'd do it if I ever needed to, though in a fit, I won't be thinking logically. And you're forgetting the part where Ike realized... or was told the severity of his actions and then apologized.
