I like Wind Waker, but they don't look similar in the slightest. Zelda U is apparently supposed to break from the formula (which either TP or ST was supposedly the last of) even more than SS did. Wind Waker, while breaking from it way more than say TP, still followed a structure where you explore, clear a dungeon, and move on. Zelda U is supposed to have more focus on the overworld.
