coolperson1145
Oh boy, this software can be REALLY frustrating to deal with. Anyway, I've been trying to make some progress with inserting another song. I had to edit it in anvil studio simply because there were 2 awkward measures of rests before the songs kicked in. So I went ahead and removed those, added the loop, etc. with no issues. The issue comes with inserting the software into mid2agb. I would insert the original file with the awkward rests into mid2agb and I'd get a normal .s file that I could use for sappy. But after I edit and export the new file, it doesn't create a .s file at all. This is the first time it's ever happen and it throws me off. Anyone know what could be the problem and what are the possible solutions?
Agro
If you can, upload the MIDI here, both the edited and unedited version. The only thing (without an actual MIDI) that I can think of is that Anvil does something weird to the MIDI that mid2agb doesn't like, such as adding in certain controls, and thus mid2agb just rejects it. coolperson1145
Alright here you go! Had to create a mediafire account for this so hopefully it helps. It wouldn't allow me to upload any midi files on here for whatever reason :( Original: http://www.mediafire.com/download/z8on5gndapqp8k3/Dhaos_Resurrection2.mid Edited Version: http://www.mediafire.com/download/1dcxdh8zcm5xmcp/Dhaos_Resurrection2(2).mid
Agro
Honest to god I have no idea why that was happening--the best that I can give you is that there are some important commands within the first two bars that you delete when you use Anvil (although it doesn't look like it from here). I noticed that for one reason or anything you'd changed the timpani to another percussion instrument (toms?) so that may have caused some trouble as well. Regardless, here are some version that should work. Also check that Anvil is saving MIDIs into Format 1 and not Format 0--not sure if either of them gives a problem but it never hurts to try. Anvil is a horrendous program in general anyway. https://dl.dropboxusercontent.com/u/51331815/dhaos.s https://dl.dropboxusercontent.com/u/51331815/dhaos.mid (It may not be a bad idea to get a dropbox so you can use the public folder to share things easier)
Alfred Kamon
That happens to me quite often, and the "Repair Song" function in Anvil usually fixes the problem. Just be careful because it might delete some undesired notes. Edited March 2, 2014 by Alfred Kamon

Anyway, it was giving me problems even when it was left as a timpani, that change was made a bit later since I found out that the timpani could barely be heard. It also gave me only midi 0 as an export option, but that was never a problem before either. I went ahead and repaired the song and now the .s file appears! I think there might of been a few notes here and there that got deleted but I don't think they interfere with the song overall. Thanks for the help :)
