lonelyVoxel
Iirc, FE6 had around 60 playable characters. It may be that the Intelligent Systems devs cut the amount of spots between then and FE7, but I'm surprised that it got glitchy down there. However, the prep screens for the two games are quite a bit different, so that could contribute to the problem.

HF Makalov Fanboy Kai
i competely didn't know about that character glitch thing, but i do think its based on how far down the character is. like i actually used eli and flo and they were fine and unaffected for example. Blademaster!
Huh I thought the last glitch would be the dragon one. I don't think I remember that glitch being there either, but you're guess on why it happens is probably right. It probably has to do with the list containing over 64 units if I were to guess? lonelyVoxel
54 actually. Yay, gross rounding by a wiki! However, I think you can add about 6 characters postgame as bonuses for completing the game X amount of times. They're only usable on the challange maps. FE8 Girls awards 5 Exp for a dodge or taking an attack, so if that were to be in FE6 you'd only have to get hit/dodge with Merlinus 380 times to get to level 20 as opposed to 1,900. TheMoniker
Hey guys, I just realized, I was a bit wrong earlier. There weren't sixty-seven characters. I was counting Nova, even though he actually diddisappear from the prep screen. There are really SIXTY-SIX. Makes a bit more sense now, huh? BUT KAT IS RELATED TO KARLO! Would be interesting to hand that sword over to someone like Mary. Mary would really have to try not to S-rank lances, but yeah, maybe I should pass it around a bit more. Huh I thought the last glitch would be the dragon one. I don't think I remember that glitch being there either, but you're guess on why it happens is probably right. It probably has to do with the list containing over 64 units if I were to guess? I don't actually HAVE over 64 units, so I doubt that's it... 8 actually. So 62 total. Although that does count Merlinus. Wish there was a way to make him gain more xp from being attacked, seeing as he can't fight back. Or maybe make him act the same way as in Fe7. The way Merlinus works in FE6 is STUPID. But yeah, I'm guessing the prep screen in FE6 was simple built for more. I don't know why, exactly, but I found Raptor's death to be so funny I was laughing weeks after the fact (maybe it was your commentary too). When I saw this I laughed my rear off... Is there something wrong with me? o.O EDIT: Dwah, why couldn't we just Chill with Chill... ...boring boss of boringness forgotten! Moving on... Maybe it was because of how comically overdone and wimpy it was? Hello babes and bros. Welcome back to... Corrupt Theocracy: Episode 31: Chapter 30: What Happens When One of the "Bosses" Takes an Entire Level? Gee, I wonder what epicness we can expect from the second to last chapter? The map is... a giant staircase? Iris: The steps ahead of us lead to the main throne room, but Urien is blocking our way there. Donovan: Is this Urien strong? Iris: After my sister, he is the closest Dragon alive to being what the true Dragons of old were like. No type of defense his safe against his attacks. I love how Janet has incredible strength in-story, but in gameplay she's the weakest link of the entire team. Anyways, Urien does in fact have a defense-penetrating attack. Don't get too excited, though. Gunni: I guess the best way to defeat him is heal those who fight him. Iris: But it must be done from a distance. It is dangerous to get to close. Gee, thanks for the tactical help, I'll totally need it. I hereby declare challenge run. Doing this without healing. We all waltz onstage! When Urien and his dudes just sort of appear. Donovan: So I take it you are Urien? Urien: Yes, I am! Ah, but it seems so odd that you know my name, but I don’t know yours! You are? Donovan: I am Donovan. Urien: Donovan eh? …What an uncreative name. But mine isn’t any better! Yes! You shall make a fine opponent! I don't get this guy. Donovan: So it’s just you? Urien: Me, and some healers! One person against a whole army could use some back up! So, Urien came by himself with only 6 healers for protection. You'd best kill him in one turn, or just not reduce him to half health before ending your turn! Urien: …But I digress. I will kill you here. When Pyron returns, the first thing he will get to feast on is your burnt flesh. *obligatory burning reference* Iris: Urien, why do you, someone who survived Pyron’s reign, wish to revive him? Urien: Why? A foolish question. I was Pyron’s only non Phobosian servant. I was his spy. Iris: So you were always a traitor… THANK you! END DIALOGUE So. This chapter. Isn't that bad. I throw Janet another bone. Forgot to take a picture of the unit list, but there's 10 slots. Honestly, if you need more, I don't know what to tell you. Starting the battle... Donovan: And what’s with the wierd staves? Renault(?): Ah, you mean my fortify and Hamerene? They are both staves only Bishops may use. My Hamerene is one of a kind too! As for who I am, I am one of Brammimond’s two children. I am Astra and Nova’s father. When he uses a typo twice I start to wonder if it's actually correct. This is how english works everybody! Donovan: What of your sibling? Renault(?): She died long ago when her child Knick was born. Donovan: I see. Thank you for coming to our aid. So, Regal and Merlinus are here too! Now, let's look at Urien. He has insane stats, 50 attack with a defense-penetrating weapon, and some crit too, which is a garaunteed one-shot! BALANCE! Regardless, we're going to wreck him anyway. And apparently he's a lady! Who knew? Above him is the giant staircase(Who even builds staircases like that? Aren't they supposed to expand as you go down, not up?), which contains 6 healers. I'd like to point out that this is a "defeat all" chapter, so for SOME REASON Blademaster forces you to spend an extra minute wrecking a bunch of healers after you've beaten the only threat in the level. Gee, thanks... Regal comes with fantastic gear, meh stats, an A-rank in staves(endgame warp user, if you're so inclined), and an EIGHTY-USE HAMMERNE. So, don't be worried about weapon uses for the final battle! Merlinus is around, so you can restore as much stuff as you can find! The solution is obviously the DRAGON'S BANE(note: It's not super effective, for some reason) Oh hey, he DOES have a semi-special animation! Maybe it's copied from somewhere/somewhen, but at least it acknowledges that these guys are special, since them just being sages is really lame. Regardless, the spell itself is really wimpy. She fails to crit the second time, and the effects is Fah's breath. BATTLE OF THE BREATH! The finisher is obvious. He didn't even need supports...TO BECOME SONIC He tries to go kill the other guys, but gets BOXED IN! OH THE HORRORS! He escapes. Annnnnd we're done. Janet: Mother! I’m so happy to see you again! Joanne: As am I my daughter. And Iris is here to! What fun! Iris: It is good to see you too Joanne. Joanne: Oh and you’ve brought so many friends with you! Aww, it's so touching, what could possibly ruin- THESE CHARACTERS Eli: daughters outburst. At least Eli has an ounce of sense. Joanne: ! And you are? Eli: Hmm? I am Eli, And this is my wife Flo. Flo: A pleasure. Joanne: I see… So this is your wife… You have a family now… Eli: Excuse me? Joanne: Oh, nothing. Just mumbling to myself. …You must be very happy with your family. If I was your mother, I would be so proud… Excuse me… Flo: tears. Eli: I wonder why? Maybe it's because her daughter got called a slut? TheMoniker
Hello babes and bros. Welcome back to... Corrupt Theocracy: FINAL EPISODE: Part 1: The Final Fight Well...this is the end. I hope you weren't expecting anything special. Gill: …Leave me. If I see you again, I will kill you. Sheesh, no need to be a jerk! Gouki: Yes father… Gill: my grasp. I see the future before me clearer than the dreams I’ve had nights before. It’s as if life is a book that I have read so many times before. Uh...sudden tone switch? Gill: Those words… Since I first read them, they have defined my life. Urien… I will avenge you… Oh, he was quoting? Could have put some quotation marks... Why is the friendly soldier red? Eli: Nova! You’re safe! Nova: Thanks to Zypher! Oh, so now he's Zypher? Also, Nova was the one and only character who hasn't been seen since Part 1. Zypher: When we got here, we destroyed part of the shrine and entered through the back. We found Nova and I took him here. Gunni: So everyone else is fighting at the rear? Zypher: Yes, they are trying to take care of the reinforcements. Well, I guess that lines up with the gameplay of last chapter...but, if we helped them, and then charged for the boss, we could have a whole army at our side! Eli: Perfect! Let’s take this opportunity to defeat Gill once and for all! *allied troops occupied* *reinforcements coming in* *PERFECT OPPORTUNITY* Everyone walks in. The map for this chapter, is well...you'll see. And then enemies spam-deploy everywhere. Donovan: everyone! Let us do our best to end this war once and for all! Iris: Yes! Let us bring this war to a close! So, we haven't seen Gill yet. Turns out he's that one guy from FE6. He might be recolored, but I forget. Either way, I'm curious what would have happened if Blademaster actually made a custom portrait, but ah well. Reddier #4,509: And the key has been stolen! Gill: What! They’ve rescued the boy!?!? Impossible! How could this happen! These mortals know not who they are toying with! Annnnd he's kinda stereotypical. END DIALOGUE Okay everyone, here we go! Final battle! Here's the FINAL TEAM. Lila, Gringo, and Sal have unfortunately had to stay behind. I thought about it for a while, and, well, they were the only truly "unnecessary" ones. Also, the Dragonbane apparently got reduced to 14 uses, even though I used it only twice in the last battle, meaning it should have 78! Wait... 78 - 64 = 14 IT'S TOO MATHEMATICALLY PERFECT NOT TO BE TRUE I'd actually like some confirmation on that one, do weapons glitch out when they have over 64 uses? Oh, and apparently Elliot CAN use the Durandal! I thought for sure he couldn't... And the unit list glitched AGAIN. EVERYONE below Eli(Barry, Kage, Karlo, and Regal) got deleted! I'm glad I removed the Dragonbane from his inventory now, even if we did lose that 80-use hamerene. Also, the stats of the units towards the bottom now have the OPPOSITE problem. I'd love to put them in the final team and try them out, but I honestly don't have the time for it. Hey, we can take Merlinus! Yeah! Oh? I think you know what comes next... Especially since he's blue now. Donovan: Lord Brammimond? What are you doing here? Brammimond: I washed my hands of humankind and their foolish ways long ago. But you and your companions have convinced me that was a rash decision. Perhaps there is hope for you yet. Allow me to offer what help I can. Donovan: You wish to fight with us? Brammimond: I may lack the power to stop Gill, but his minions are another story. Let this old man strike down and clear a path for you. Hey, that dialogue was surprisingly cohere-WAAIIIIIT A MINUTE! Yes. You are correct. It IS literally Gotoh's joining dialogue, copied from Shadow Dragon, WORD FOR WORD(with a few find-replaces)! Dangit Blademaster! Donovan: …That sound very familiar… LAMPSHADING IT DOES NOT HELP! Donovan: …Wait. You don’t look very old. Brammimond: I’m 432. How am I not old? Donovan: I see. Thank you for the help! Brammimond: Idiot. Maybe I was still right about Humanity. I DON'T UNDERSTAND Anyways, you guys ready for one last awkward picture map showcase? MAN, I hate it when the maps don't line up properly! And the fire effect doesn't help either! There's a top part I didn't take too many shots of, because it's just so empty, the only notable thing being Gill. Here's the whole map. Yeah, that top part is just a ton of intricate and useless carpet patterns. This map is outright BLOATED, and contains LOTS of walking. So, you might notice the three new people to join us! He still has his pathetic stats and inventory from back then, too! Mind you, he IS a game over character. At this point in the game, he'll die VERY quickly, and he has NO supports. Escorting him around the map is terrible. Brammimond still has his stats from that one FE4 chapter, and trust me, he is anything BUT a burden! He'll help however he can. Come on game, decide whether it's Zypher or Georg! Regardless, he has good stats, but the only really notable thing is the EMBLEM BLAAAADE! At LAST we get to use one ourselves! The only problem being, it's LOCKED to him for some reason, and so we can't give it to another sword user who is actually good(translation: has supports). Also, apparently Jill(from that desert chapter) joins here as a green unit too, or she would if we hadn't recruited her already so long ago. Does he have an animation? ANSWER: Yes, but it's nothing THAT special. As for Gill... So, the last boss is just a normal class that breaks a few numbers. Nothing that special. His final weapon is an Anima tome, with insane hit and Mt. The good news is, it doesn't penetrate defense. The bad news? 100. FREAKING. CRIT. 100 crit on a SIXTY-FIVE attack guy! There is no one on the team-I repeat, NO ONE-who can withstand that attack. Even if we had Barrier staves, I don't think we could! The final boss ALWAYS has a chance to one-shot you, as you'd be incredibly hard-pressed to build up that much crit evade, even with supports. Of course, there's also the option to just pass around iron runes. I guess we know why Blademaster gave us so many now, huh? All the mooks are male, and they're all really tough. Oh, and every single one is wielding a legendary. I think this sort of signifies how broken the balance is at this point. You probably noticed that swordsmaster. He's Gouki, who apparently found a hero crest and leveled up 20 times since we last saw him. He's still pretty much a pushover. Okay, now it's REALLY time to start playing the chapter! Georg/Zypher apparently kept his "....." quote. Even if he did get a new armor set. Nova finally gets that 20th level he never got in Part 1. He still sucks. No, she isn't healing Brammimond. She's using Fortify. I gave one to Mandrake and Sophie, and they'll be spamming basically every turn. Those magic users are healers, too! And it's VERY ANNOYING! Donovan gets a level... Yeah, I skipped a lot of the first few turns. There was just nothing interesting. It's not until here that things start to pick up. And when you're saying that about the final chapter, you know you have a problem. Gouki apparently has a special battle quote prepared for Iris. This is literally all he says, and he has no normal boss quote, so it's kinda weird. Close, but no cigar. AND THEN THE BRAVE BOW NOMADS FINISH HER The worst part is, she'd already dodged 5 attacks and this is the last one she'd have had to survive! YES. WE GET IT. YOU HAVE A SUCKY PERSONALITY. Trying again, holding Iris back, the nomads opt to nearly murder Janet then let the siege tome mooks finish her. WHY? WHY DO YOU HAVE TO SUCK SO MUCH? See this attack? It was a CRIT! Gah! CURSE YOU SIEGE TOME USERS Seriously, it's IMPOSSIBLE to advance without going in their range, and they have good crit chance, not to mention, their tomes have WAY more than 5 uses! How is this fair? Let's play "finish the death quote"! There are three words. The one at the end is "hack". Which one goes in between? NEXT TIME: The situation does not improve. TheMoniker
Hello babes and bros. Welcome back to... Corrupt Theocracy: FINAL EPISODE: FINAL PART: The Disappointing Ending Donovan re-gets his last level. And it's worse. We're moving forward, slowly but surely. Soon, the two side groups will meet with the middle and everyone can push together! Bye, loser. I'm fairly certain you can't recruit him. Georg is incapable of dodging these siege tome fools, and it's VERY annoying, since there are no healers nearby. A few turns later... Hey, the sides seem clear! We start moving forward when... ENTER THE REINFORCEMENTS So, first, druids/bishops spawn from both of the mirrored sets of stairs, respectively. Heroes spawn from the extra thrones. For some reason. Oh, and there are four of those intricate circle-with-a-plus-inside thingies, at the four corners of the map. Enemies spawn from all of them. On enemy phase. GEE, I SURE HOPE YOU DIDN'T THINK YOU COULD LEAVE ANYONE BEHIND! LIKE NOVA! WHICH I TOTALLY DIDN'T DO IN MY FIRST RUN! Will he keep the point of strength? The way seems clear, but the reinforcements are moving to block it... WELL, SCREW YOU TOO GAME *shakes fist* He doesn't even have a death quote. I could just let him die. But he still has the emblem blade, which I want. Okay, this time, we put Mandrake in a position to heal him! Things are kinda in chaos now. I have to pull together and push ahead! So, uh....you don't want to do that. Not without supports. MORE REINFORCEMENTS! They're just going to keep piling up aren't they? I wanted to test something, but this is where I discover that the Emblem Blade is apparently a character-exclusive thing. Okay, so if we equip her 100 hit weapon.... Get all her support partners together... 275 hit! Dang! Okay, some guy on the FE7CM thread topped Sandy's crazy hit, and I was trying to top his in turn. If she had a wind sword, which has 120 hit, she'd have 295 hit, which is higher than his score of somewhere in the 280s! IT TOTALLY COUNTS, WHAT ARE YOU TALKING ABOUT? Okay, okay. But while I'm doing this, I discover something interesting. Which I'll show shortly. For now, I'd just like to say that enemy phase status stave reinforcements are VERY ANNOYING. We had the map nearly empty except for Gill! And now it's filling up again! I hate reinforcements! The good news is, just about everyone is together! Also, note the position of Craft and Star relative to Sandy. Because she has -- hit! Yup! Okay, so, I'm not SURE about this, but I have a theory. The theory is that the game can't display 255 hit, because she has 260 hit holding the Ice brand without Donovan's help, and the Sol Katti has 95 hit, bringing this to 255. That's Gill's hit too, by the way. I don't think it actually affects combat. See, this is it with the Ice brand. All these guys are reinforcements! We have to advance through them while they're still coming! I could wait, but knowing Blademaster that could take HOURS! THEY WON'T STOP. He didn't keep that point of strength. And he refuses to get it in a run where everyone actually lives. I want to see the boss quote... Brammimond: your king I am here to stop. Not you. Well, Gill's evil too, Brammimond. Don't forget. Where are they COMING from? Were they all just hiding under the chairs? I'd be more forgiving if they actually did the "warp in" effect! I HATE YOU SO MUCH NOVA Unediteddeathquotetm I think I have to sacrifice the endgame crutch character to keep him safe. Dang. I wish I had brought Lila instead of him now. I want to see his ending, so I can't let him stay dead! I can't stand this anymore! That's it! That's enough! I have enough units onhand! I'm going to attack Gill! Let's start things off! And yeah, don't expect to not have to RNG abuse. She crits, and Gill doesn't crit back. Meteor is basically Forblaze, btw. Next weakener! Sandy: You look like the kinda person you fight before the final boss. Gill: Foolish whore. Die in my flame! Don't worry, there isn't actually a second boss. I mean, I don't think there is. I'd have to have a pretty bad loss of memory to forget that! CURSE YOU GILL! CURSE YOU AND ALL YOUR BS! WELL, I HAVE BS OF MY OWN! RNG ABUSE, GO! Sandy activates her CRIT POWERS, and disables Gill's! Final finisher! Gill: …Ahhahaha! We both have never met before and you are still trying to stop me merely because that girl told you I was bad. What would happen if I had met you first? Would I still be bad? That...was actually a nice speech...it at first seems like flawed logic, since this guy is still bad, but then. Yeah, that's idiotic. Because of that TERRIBLE line, I'm suddenly forced to genuinely question Donovan's motives. Thanks, Blademaster. Regardless, I have something to say. I'm tired. Tired. TIRED. OF. PLAYING. THIS. HAAAAAACCCCCKKKKKK!!!! So...disappointing... Why wasn't there a death quote? BECAUSE WE STILL HAVE TO SEIZE HIS MAGIC CHAIR! I CAN'T TAKE ANOTHER TURN OF THIS! I HAVE TO FINISH THIS NOW! Wait, there's one thing I can do! WARP POWER GO Revive! And we are SO finished! So very finished! So...very...finished... This...is much less satisfying than I thought it would be... Next time...the conclusion. What, were you expecting something better?
