NoCashOtaku
So I heard some rumors about Fire Emblem If being exclusive to the NEW!! 3DS. Does anyone have anything to confirm this?
Book of Ereshkigal
They did not say so anywhere. It would probably be something they'd say the moment they announced it, like Xenoblade. Edited March 16, 2015 by L95
LightOnAHill
I don't believe so, but if for some chance it was... BOY! Would I be in a pickle. I love the series, but I don't know if I love it enough to buy a whole new console for just one game.
Nobody
no, otherwise they would probably have said it by now. Fire Emblem is definitely not a game that demands a lot from the hardware. Nintendo would be shooting themselves in the foot by ignoring almost the entire 3ds userbase and wouldn't get almost anything in exchange. Sentacotus
No they (being Nintendo and IS) did not say anything about FE:if being a "New" 3ds exclusive in their Direct back in Janurary. Now it would not suprise me if they bundled it with the system to push sales.
The Geek
It might be, but I don't think that's a very likely possibility. The graphics they showed in the trailer didn't look any more advanced than the graphics in Awakening.
Lord Raven
Well, they've got feet.
The Geek
I'm pretty sure the developers said in an interview that removing the feet was a precaution, but that they later found out that they could have easily included them.
Book of Ereshkigal
Yes, they did say something along those lines.
blyegg
I don't believe so. But if it was and it was bundled with a new3ds themed FE (or bundled regardless), I'd be getting a n3ds anyway.
Junkhead
Why "If", anyway?
The Geek
Well, similarly to how awakening was a theme in Awakening, choices will probably be a strong recurring theme in If.
NoCashOtaku
Well, that's a relief... for now... I really don't want to buy a new console just for one game. Ugh.
DragonLord
At the end of the trailer, it said "Nintendo 3DS", and not "New Nintendo 3DS". I'm pretty sure that means it's going to be available for the original 3DS too. If not, then they would be losing a huge consumer install base. It wouldn't make sense, especially since the game doesn't appear to be pushing the system to the limits any more than Awakening did.
Jedi
Why "If", anyway? It's very similar to a Shin Megami Tensei game subtitle. Shin Megami Tensei is very what If you do this, if you do that. FEIF has been touted to have "choices" and their working with Atlus may have inspired the name.
Vitezen
I don't think they would've switched development platforms. The game has already been in progress for a long time, delaying even further by switching to a console that has an unnecessarily high level of hardware would be a strange business decision. I could see them doing a port with some exclusive features, but I have no doubt that you'll be able to play the game on the old 3ds.
