Blaze The Great
"trigaia" you are the best at naming your pokemon I didn't even notice that until now...I'm not sure whether that name is amazing or terrible. Lol just kidding Shuuda it's solid.
Darrman
Heh, my first Pokémon ever I named Mario. Many Pokémon were named after Mario things, like Yoshi the Simisear and Peach the Watchog. Mario was an Oshawott. And I never evolved him. Ever. He's sitting on my AWOL Pokémon Y cart, I think.
Shuuda
Episode Forty Four: Rock Solid It's time for me to take on the first Kanto gym. It's good old Brock, with his team which is entirely weak to grass and fighting. Surely such a gym should be no trouble at all for my team. Right? [spoiler=Episode Forty Four: Part One] I had already been subtly clued into that. You can sod right off. God, I love Aggron. I wish I had one. That on the other hand, I can do without. F-f-f-f-F-f-f-f-F-F-f-fuck off! No Evolite for you. Somedays I wish they'd voted for you, my sweet. I don't see why they bothered bringing five Pokemon each. They could've saved me time by not showing up. O'right, fork over yer badge. [spoiler=Episode Forty Four: Part Two] Because I thrashed them all. Except water, grass, ground, and fighting... and steel. Back to the old grind. I was hoping he'd open up with something else. Thank goodness for Kingdras supreme typing. That's a pretty small level gap. This might not go so well for me. I'm pretty sure this is the only reason Golem exists. Assuming he has a Kabutops, Brock has three water types. That should make this easier for me. That was a Head Smash. I know all about that move. I'm very lucky. I'm surprised you survived that. Onix is pretty heavy, so one should do it this time. Is that the best you can bring, Brock? Oh... bollocks. Bollocks. Too bad for you. I came prepared for this bullshit. ... Sigh. It's back to business. I wish my Kabuto had a better nature. I like Kabutops. This is overkill, but I feel like shitting over his team. Weirdo. Whatever. Just give me the badge. [spoiler=Episode Forty Four: Aftermath] The feeling's mutual. That's Rock Slide, just so you know. Great. I just hope they don't get any tougher than you. God sake. That's a bad loss. And there you have it. Seven more gyms to go, and I assume that Misty will be next. I don't think my team is going to have a particularly easy time, since I'm guessing she'll be bringing a rain team. [spoiler=Team] The loss of Gerardo has left a big hole in the team. The good news is that I have plenty of good electric types to take his place. In fact, I know a certain electric rodent who'd love to fill those shoes.
Darrman
RIP Gerardo. Death by critical Earthquake. Will the team leaders always be felled by crits? Xian'll be taking the torch, I assume. I wonder who'll be the replacement... *checks thread*
blah the Prussian
NO! Brock must pay! Send him to Tumblr! That should do it.

I wonder who'll be the replacement... *checks thread* Yeah, Xian's the ace now. I think he'll do a find job in that role. As for my electric replacement, I've got quite a few options to choose from, but I am really wishing I hadn't killed off that Luxio encounter. That would've been my first choice. Soen
I've been following this for a while, it's really an interesting gameplay. So sorry for Gerardo's death, the RNG sure is a bitch when it wants to screw you up. Why should Brock keep an Onix at level 61 and not evolve it, anyways? NO! Brock must pay! Send him to Tumblr! That should do it. Why isn't there a like button on SF...

Shuuda
Episode Forty Five: Who Else Were You Expecting? That's right. After some consideration, I landed on this precious little fellow to talk in Gerardo's footsteps. His stats might be a little on the low side, but he makes up for it by having a neat party piece in Nasty Plot passing. In this part I make my way to Mount Moon. There are many battles along the way, and even an interesting encounter. [spoiler=Episode Forty Five: Part One] I'll honour your request. If you thought Bluebolt wasn't going to pull his weight, you thought wrong. Good thing they lowered the cost of Thunderbolt from the Goldenrod Game Corner. Still cost a ton though. I see nothing! I feel nothing! No legendaries allowed! This should be easy. See. Easy. (But seriously, Rusty tanked that Close Combat.) And I can hit like a truck. Bluebolt was just too cute to resist. So much cooler than Pikachu. That's because I'm not using my Politoed. Explosion go away! Now it's time to fetch my encounter for this route. [spoiler=Episode Forty Five: Part Two] Awesome. I'll take him. Wow. Well, if Rusty goes, I've got some good options for a ground type. That's a name for a Hiker. Those animation effects. Plus, I hope I get a Clefairy in Mount Moon. How about no? Your chances of winning just hit zero. Yeah, there're a lot of battles on this route. Groovy, man. Swapping in Rusty wasn't such a good idea. I had to use a Potion to save him. This was easier. A great act... that you can only do once. And that's all for this route. It's time for Mount Moon. [spoiler=Episode Forty Five: Part Three] Go away, Paras! I want a Clefairy. Bollocks! What kind of encounter is this? Resist your urges. Please! Fine then! This is the real test for Bluebolt. Let's do this! Don't even try any funny stuff. Honestly, I think that's the first time I've actually seen a Honchkrow do anything. Here's me realising Baton Pass doesn't have much of an animation in this game. Oh, praise the heavens that Typhoon has double protection from fire. Nasty Plot boosted. Typhlosion ain't surviving. If this Kingdra outspeeds, then I'm about to be very red faced. Oh, thank goodness. Bluebolt did his job pretty well here. Majestic has the highest special defence on my team, and this Alakazam still makes me feel uncomfortable. Eat my balls! I think maybe I should've gone to Rusty. He can take anything this could throw out and beat it with Earthquake. Oh bugger. That's lucky for me. I dunno... I feel like showing off here. Damn that Gengar. After Morty, I'm always scared it'll pull something crazy off. Well... it's no different from all the other times we've battled. Honestly... a Kingdra, an Alakazam, a Gengar, a Honchkrow, a... whatever you call it, and a Typhlosion. There's nothing weak about that. In the meantime, you can leave me alone. I think this is the last rival battle for a long time at least. ... And this is my encounter. I might as well go for it. Okay. I've got nothing else to say. So, you got to see Bluebolt in action. I think he'll make a fine addition to the team, even if he's not exactly as fast or strong as Gerardo. He's a cool little fellow. [spoiler=Team]
blah the Prussian
You know, Shuuda, if you had gotten a Plusle I could have made another Communism joke. Ah well.
Darrman
Misty next, I'd assume. Hopefully you'll be fine. You've got Trapsnatch and Bluebolt hitting water's weaknesses, so yeah!
Shuuda
Episode Forty Six: Nugget Challenge Those of you expecting a gym match any time soon will be disappointed, because of course there's all sorts of business that needs taking care of before any of that can happen. In this part, I gain some extra experience by taking on the Nugget Bridge Challenge, which isn't actually on the bridge anymore. [spoiler=Episode Forty Six: Part One] I think that might just be the Minun here. Yeah, sorry. You had no chance. I think he was switch training... I think. I've still got to get an encounter for this route. Fine, then. A lagoon. For some reason, that just doesn't sound too pleasant. And what do you want me to do about it? Time for another encounter. Great. That's pretty good. She even comes with Psychic. [spoiler=Episode Forty Six: Part Two] Bring it on, punk! You know, bringing a weaker version of what you just used won't really work. Does that mean you won't be using a Gloom? That's one relaxed Nidoqueen. I'm actually kind of surprised this was a OHKO, considering how tough Vaporeons are. That was easy. I think you need to grow a few feet before then. Things are going pretty smooth so far. Oh, a double battle. That was easier than my last double. You sneaky little turd. I like you. You only had one Pokemon, and it couldn't even by Porygon-Z. I take back what I said. Is that it? Not even a TM, or a battle item? [spoiler=Episode Forty Six: Part Three] Whatever floats your boat. Four Pokemon? That doesn't look good. I love Kingdras typing. No fairies, no problem. Roserade has good special defence, but I'm sure that won't come back to haunt me. It came back to haunt me. RIP: Majestic. Things ain't looking any better. I need to remember Ampharoses will have that move. This is like Quartz Vs Typhlosion all over again. I'm still miffed I could never catch a Mareep or Flaffy. I just hope he doesn't have any moves that are good against fire either. Serious, how do I get that on my Arcanine in this hack. I checked the move relearner, but there was no option. Dang, that'd be an awesome move to have on Xian. I guess he's good enough for now. Sod off. Just look at that. All those fine stats gone to waste. The good news is that I just got the perfect replacement for him. I do get another encounter in this area. So let's see what it is... I'm not even going to bother catching that. Oh yeah, Misty ain't here, 'cause I've got to sort out the Power Plant first. Sucks to be me. So yeah, there's still a lot to do before I can battle the next gym it seems.

Darrman
RIP Majestic. I think this is the first time poison's claimed anyone? Rusty had a close call there as well. It's Nugget Bridge: what did you expect? You'll always get a nugget there.
blah the Prussian
Well, you got a nice monarchist Pokemon in the form of Princess. That's consolation for me!

Shuuda
Episode Forty Seven: Power Face Plant Sadly, before I can take on Misty, I need to sort out all this Power Plant business. The good news is that I trained up Nibani here, even going back to Goldenrod for another Thunderbolt, and I get another interesting encounter. [spoiler=Episode Forty Seven: Part One] The first encounter of the episode. So far, Kanto hasn't been to impressive. And it continues to disappoint. Onto the next route then. That is correct. Taking out the trash. Now here's a more interesting encounter. ThunderPunch. That's a handy move you've got there. Didn't I go through all this already? That Umbreon just doesn't look like it cares. You know, Golduck can get Petal Dance in this hack. Weird. I wish you were around when I had to fight Bruno. Having an actual psychic type is going to be endlessly helpful. Fork it over! Yeah, my map doesn't already tell me that. NO! IT'S LEGAL IN JOHTO! Can't I just shove him aside? It's Flash, because I'll probably need it at some point. [spoiler=Episode Forty Seven: Part Two] Since everything in the grass is dupes, I've got to fish for the encounter. Not bad, I suppose, but I've got so many other good water types. Then why aren't you out there going after him? Keep in your pants, mate. I guess there's nothing else for it. Didn't I already sort you pricks out? Nothing here but a family friendly threesome. Give it up, you racist stereotype. Trample another grunt? For old times sake. Yep, just like old times. Well, you didn't need to tell me. I just sort of assumed you hid it there. That's right, so go scram to whatever shithole you came from. That's hardly what I'd call hidden. Couldn't he have just burried it instead? I think that's his lingo for getting a stiffy. Well, he was happy to get his parts back. That'd better just be a fashionable accessory, and not anything to do with a legendary. With all that out of the way, I can go interrupt someone's date now. I think that really is just my occupation at this point. Finally. Now something can actually happen. So with all that pissing around finally taken care of, I can actually go and challenge Misty. The team is looking up for the job. In retrospect, losing Majestic wasn't the biggest deal ever. Nibani is looking just as good, if not better, so far. Shuuda
Episode Forty Eight: Pest Control After plenty of bumming around, it's finally time to take on Misty. I have my suspicions about her team, so I made a couple of changes in preparation. [spoiler=Episode Forty Eight: Part One] Taking the place of Rusty for this gym, is Fury. He's packing Choice Scarfed ThunderPunches and Close Combats. Rawr... The good news is that I've got plenty of Pokemon who can withstand water attacks. But Misty is likely to be carrying a lot of Ice Beams too. Lazy tosser. ThunderPunch is doing its job, which is good, because Fury has no defences. It's fine, I only had to waste an entire episode on some nonsense. I'm glad I forked out for another Thunderbolt TM. But for you, it's just about speed. I've missed this animation. I'm fine, but my Primeape is soaking. I'm already happy with my choice to take you. [spoiler=Episode Forty Eight: Part Two] And I was expecting you two episodes ago. I'll pit them against my Thunderbolts then. A Drizzle Politoed to start us off? I had a hunch one of those would be crawling around on her team. Thankfully, I came with a counter. Now these water attacks are weakened. Not bad, but a Politoed can't match Nibani in special attacks. Oi! Get back here! Good thing I changed attacks. Well, that's all my work undone. I did think about bringing my own Lanturn, but I didn't like its stats. I believe this is the second Lapras I've seen in a gym battle. And no surviving on two hit points this time. Misty's ace. Not much high levelled than Brock's, but a Starmie is scarier than an Onix. Since the rain is still up, Hydro Pump is boosted up. Bloody hell. Again, I made a good call on swapping attacks. I think the third Dragon Pulse did just enough to beat this one. Finish the Starmie off before I causes any trouble. Bluebolt should be able to deal with the rest of her team without any issues. I think just a crippled Politoed left. I don't see the point. You're just wasting time. The second Kanto gym is down. No losses this time, either. Well, I am the Champion. Great. Now I have two of those. I get the feeling most of the Kanto TMs are going to be like this. And that's the battle against Misty. I have more good news; I believe in the next part I'll be able to just head on over to Lt. Surge, so there'll be no delays between these two gym battles.
