Draco
Final Fantasy 7. Love the game but it hasn't aged well.
TheEnd
phantasy star 2 while i find its succinct storytelling genius, the game itself is a pure, merciless, unadultered grind and it's pretty much impossible to recommend it to anyone nowadays which is a pity, because its message is still relevant and the way phantasy star 4 (which actually aged fairly well) subtly references it is absolutely brilliant
Tryhard
master of magic (1994) is literally as resolution upgrade from being a relevant modern 4x game. it doesn't even need, like, a UI overhaul or anything.I was actually gonna post this but felt like I haven't played it enough to say because I haven't :( 684: Goldeneye. Serpent of Sheol
The original Phantasy Star and its sequel have some (read: a lot of) terrible design decisions, typical of early RPGs. I love 'em both to death, though.
Ein
oh no I totally forgot to mention ACTRAISER 2 yesterday as a good game that aged well like a fine wine. The original Phantasy Star and its sequel have some (read: a lot of) terrible design decisions, typical of early RPGs. I love 'em both to death, though. 2 and 3 too. I have no idea what the hell was going on when i played them.
Alex95
Super Mario 64 is my favorite game of all time, but I don't think it aged too well. It's graphics are blurry, even compared to N64 standards, and the controls are a tad sluggish. But I still think it's a great game.

Knight Falchion
683: Chrono Trigger, Thracia 776, and Ogre Battle 64(from what I've played, not done with this one yet) 684: Gaiden, for sure. I love it but when I recommend it- if I do at all- it's always with a warning.

HK Motendra
Kingdom Hearts Chain of Memories. Its plot is one of the best throughout and praise The Lord for its remake that made it more enjoyable/bearable to actually play, but its still one of 2 KH games that I'd never touch again
Excellen Browning
any early 3D game is susceptible to aging poorly. I'd say Deus Ex aged poorly, to be honest.

I'm gay dabadeedabada
Probably the Gen 2 games for Pokemon, to be honest. While I don't think its aged well with today, the music is still one of the best from the series, imho. I agree with you and it's kind of weird considering how little I agree with cropped porn. Phoenix Wright
i tried to think of one yesterday but couldn't. some were already said that i agree with (most notably chrono trigger). rpgs like fire emblem and pokemon don't really count imo because the formula is almost exactly the same game-to-game. i could say mgs, but that's probably due to bias alone. i love that game. anyway, for today's question, i gotta say the legend of dragoon and kh 1. i love both games, the legend of dragoon being one of my all-time favorite games, but its story is so poorly paced and some of its characters are really bad. i think the battle system is still fun as fuck, but i know that people today simply couldn't play through the thing. kh 1 has a terrible, terrible camera. even worse than the original mgs3 camera. it's so bad. has the potential to ruin the whole experience. Zera
I don't think games age, but rather, we age and start criticizing games that were bad to begin with. I enjoyed Final Fantasy III (DS), but only for it's graphics, music, and story - the gameplay is just a huge grind-fest time-killer.
Monde
Mass Effect 1, probably.
Dr. Tarrasque
Probably the Gen 2 games for Pokemon, to be honest. While I don't think its aged well with today, the music is still one of the best from the series, imho. Personally I'd play the original games over the remakes. Specially if the battery wasn't such an issue. Edited March 9, 2016 by Sirius
euklyd
was gonna say FE4 but I don't even like it that much. I appreciate it, but I can't say I love it or anything... uhhhh maybe Golden Sun?
secondworld
The original Legend of Zelda Oh shit I somehow completely missed that first part of the question lmao, I don't particularly care for Zelda 1 Actual answer is Mega Man 1, which I actually like more than 2 Edited March 9, 2016 by DavidSW
Parrhesia
I can't think of any games that Aged Badly And I Like Them (maybe Myth I?), but my closest answer would be any single-digit Final Fantasy. Good games, once! Couldn't think of playing them now! Edited March 9, 2016 by Parrhesia
