Just as I suspected, this lovely chapter is where the game starts to get fun. I usually hate this chapter because it's sooo easy and just long and boring, but there was a lot of difficulty here within the first three turns, even. AND I HAVE 90 IMAGES! As opposed to the usual average of 45~ or so. I'm gonna do a unit rundown at the end of every chapter where I get new units. They're just gonna be walls of text and they're not very researched-based but read them if you want. Without further ado, I present to you Chapter 5x: Unbroken Heart. [spoiler=Ephrika joins the crew] If you thought I was joking when I said Ephrika, well... I wasn't. This is pretty weird. Right off the bat this is pretty bad. My units do damage but can't take damage or get doubled. Forde puts on the hurt pretty well, though, and you can see his crazy high defense doing work. Kyle's low skill is low but he manages to whomp this guy. And having forgot that archers will oneshot Kyle and Ephraim has 4 move, this is preeeeetty much over. Oh, what the fuck? It wasn't even Kyle that died! Just trying out new things. I like having fliers for this chapter However again it's not the person who i expect to die that dies So many Journeymen GO FORDE! (he missed) GO EPHRAIM! And the cleanup crew takes out this soldier slowly but surely Orson has no fucking speed God damn it Forde, am I gonna have another Lance from my failed FE6 run? Looks like Forde managed to hit though. Orson takes out this shithead. ... On second thought I should've focused on the Fighter eat shit, Kyle. The Godfighter looms in the distance you better not fuck this up Franz is going to be the only reason this chapter is possible, since Orson has no enemy phase Okay so now kill the fighter And then the WEAKLING Mercenary. Good teamwork boisssss Alright now that we finally got the first 3 turns down pat we can take this chapter one step at a time! Get dunked fuckboy I have a need for speed but that is fine too. orson will tank this fighter i sware on me mum Sir Missalot doesn't miss a lot, to be quite frank I fucking lied. But Kyle manages to save the day, and not be a total piece of shit AND ORSON GOES NINJA MODE AND DOES NOT DIE! GET THE FUCK OUT OF MY FACE This shithead chips Ephraim's health BUT ALL THAT HAPPENS IS HE GETS DUNKED LIKE THE BITCH HE IS CUTE! NOT CUTE! Ephraim is so weak! dude can't even double a knight (not that it would matter) Kyle probably potato chips this clown and Ephraim wipes him up, scoring a sexy level Kyle spins his spear like a baton and fucks up this soldier, but then gets a completely ass level. Forde gets this soldier's health low and restores my faith in him. He also even looks like his sprite as far as hair goes, which is cool I guess. Kyle you fucking nerd. That was almost spooky. Can we do it? I really need better image editing software. Kyle gets a great offensive level and he's already the dankest tank Peg ever so whatever. DA CREW closes in on the throne room, taking one victim at a time. Forde gets his kicks on chips and procs the best level I've seen all day. Shamans seem to have completely terrible move, as well as mages and apparently Eirika lords. May the forde be with you Shamans are also really shit lmfao Forde dunking the fuck out of these nooblords but getting ALL THE LUCK in return No joke, I used almost all of my Elixirs and Vulneraries. Wow what an amazing display of power and speed! dude hits like a truck and has 41 avoid on that stupid throne. too bad ephraim has 19 skill! I basically already have, dude. Now you're the one who's outnumbered- 4 to 1... fuckboy gets shit on and Ephraim caps Skill like a boss. I miiiiiiiight've stopped playing to talk in IP Chat a couple times. Sorry Ephraim.... Let's just run out of the castle. What could go wrong? Oh that could go wrong For some reason General Valter is applauding my antics! Bravo! LOL you fucking wish, I bet Orson could oneshot all of your stupid Wyverns. Orson? Orson? WHERE DID U GO ORSON WHATF THEUFCK NO DUDE FUCKING CUT AND RUN ORSON LEFT But I love ice cream! ohhh shitttttttttt. Yeah Prepare to suck my nuts [spoiler=unit rundown] Ephraim, Ephraim, Ephraim. 4 move is a joke, and his defenses and HP are shit, but he had 18 skill at level 4. His Con is terrible but his 11 base speed might make up for it in the end, considering Swords are almost always super light. He has two heavy swords right now (steel and armorslayer) so I don't think he doubles anything, but his EPHRAIM growths will ensure that his strength climbs as well as his luck and defenses, a little. He capped skill at level 6 though, which is pretty funny. Forde is the bread and butter of this team. He has crazy high strength, period. As a level six probably T1 recruit, his strength was basically off the charts and his low skill is completely offset by lances being fairly accurate for the most part. Plus, he does 25 damage at a time, which is nothing to shake a leg at. I forget what the promotion option is for Recruit other than Super Recruit (I think it's Paladin) but all of T0 Recruit's paths seem like perfect fits for his growths and bases. Even General would be cool. But again, I'm sure he's already T1. I'm glad I picked him up. Kyle sucks. For real. He is flying wet paper. His bases would be bad for a level 5 even in vanilla, I think. However he has 19 fucking aid and a crazy high base Res, as well as decent def and passable speed- offset by his awful Con. With Kyle's growths, he'll be a super weird Pegasus Knight but he's part of my endgame team so I'll have to make do. He is a canto flier though, which is important in this game considering monsters (gargoyles) don't get canto. Orson is a traitor. Period. He's a god though and his crazy strength and skill will be put to good use for this chapter. Also, when I have to kill him, it'll be super fucking easy because he's a Sniper that doesn't move. Novala's a freak too tho. There were only four votes but it was enough so Vanessa gets the Dragonshield, which is very much needed The crew has been chosen! Let's try playing this chapter like normal. Move to the right slowly and then kill Novala, easy game easy life. Look at Franz! What a god<3 Garcia's no slouch. But he can't kill this dude yet Thereeee it is. Franz picks up a stellar level. One of many. Let's try this again. I prefer to use it to wear ennemy down (I think it actually isn't healed while sitting in a gate, so it removes/reduce the heal they get each turn.) phobia Posted August 18, 2015 Author Share Posted August 18, 2015 (edited) I voted for Eirika because of reason I explained to Force- i dont want Eirika to show up in chapter 15 with 4 strength and 25 hp across the map and vulnerable. plus i know Ephraim will be usable if Duessel/Knoll arent-- I fully expect Scorched Sands and Riev's chapter to be the hardest chapters in this game So maybe I cheated. Poll was super close. I will save it over the empty file though [spoiler=before we begin] TIME TO TAKE A TRIP TO THE TOWER OF VALNI! This game is fuckass hard, dude. I really need to go to the tower for a while. so this update will just be a montage of levels! I get a new teammate next chapter, which will be a bitch to train. She'll be TOWER ABUSED too. This post will be updated with the Valni montage. But first, some of the Tower's greatest hits!: I ended up taking 81 screenshots... oh god a lot of these are before deaths, fuck's sake Kyle. I held the speed button through enemy phases so for like 90% of the levels I missed them and had to take a picture of the stats screen afterward. [spoiler=boring level montage] LOL look at Kyle's Loss count shoot up, Jesus TL;DR Version is here:[spoiler=tldr (just final stats)] [spoiler=unit recap] I probably went a little overboard but I previewed the next chapter and my team was getting destroyed, so I had to. Plus there's only so much stronger they can get from here before they need to promote, aaaand I have no promotion items currently. Okay so Neimi staffbotted, normal. She hit level 20 and her stats are pretty weird for a cleric, she'll have no problem hitting all of her spells when she promotes, that's for sure. Her luck is pretty nice and her mag could be a lot worse. She'll do. Eirika was such a piece of shit in the tower that I had to farm for runeswords so she could take on more than one revenant at a time lol. She ended up doing okay i guess, she's still pretty bad. Vanessa is perfectly fine now, to be honest. She has enough HP to make up for her awful strength and once she gets some killing edges she'll be okay. She just needs to do good in the next 24 levels as far as getting strength goes. She's also a prime candidate for an Assassin because if she gets enough SKL she'll just silence everything anyway. Plus, Lockpicks are nice. Garcia is probably my best unit right now. The only complaint I have is his low HP, the lowest on my team aside from Neimi. Whatever though, he onerounds almost every monster. Except of course those fucking OP as hell Entombed, those thing were a nightmare. Forde capped strength three years ago, and he started gaining lots of speed procs. So, he's good again. He just needs a body ring if his promotion doesnt have a crazy CON boost. Fuck Kyle. He's bad but at least he can one round revenants unlike Eirika. He died SO MANY TIMES in the tower, he gained 9 deaths on his counter. He kept getting instakilled by Entombeds or Bonewalkers with bows, it was crazy. And I didnt care about deaths so I just put him places and held the speed button, so he just racked them up like it was nothing. And then there's Franz, my first promotion. Without the promotion bonuses he's at somewhat of a disadvantage but his class is pretty great and he pulls more weight than anybody not named Seth. Chapter 9 will come tomorrow. This was the other source of the problems. That sniper can one-round most of my units if they're not full HP, as evidenced by Forde here, who was at 28 hp when that EP started I guess. The only way I can beat this chapter is by using someone to bring Franz right to the boss, but they will die and I cannot get any of the green units, and that is not how I'm going to play-- i am going to recruit everybody, plus i need that hero crest more than anything. The only way anything is possible is if i hack the three green units to completely stomp the chapter, and I'm not going to do that. I'm not entirely sure Ephraim mode will be possible with this shitfest of a team, either, to be honest. I know it's radically harder than Eirika's mode. I really did screw myself over by pre-determining my endgame team randomly. Neimi, Kyle, Vanessa, and even Franz simply are not up to par. Let's hope they fair better aboard the Phantom Ship. Plus, trust me the ballista will oneshot Innes anyway and Gerik cannot take on more than 4 soldiers in his base state. Plus, you probably had a team that YOU picked and that had usable growths- I got stuck with Vanessa and Kyle (which is why i didn't randomize growths, if i did i might've been stuck with a predetermined team of 0 strength growths (which is still possible haha dondon)) and an awful, awful Eirika. if i take time to level up an actual team in the tower* i might be able to beat this chapter- but I already saved at the beginning of the chapter, so I cant get back to the map. But i did forget to reset Innes's stats. I did reset Gerik but Innes has 10 more defense than he would normally have, and 5 more HP.it didnt matter though, because I kept him out of harm's way 90% of the time. So he didnt need it. He's not being used so it's just a simple error whatever! I feel really good now, this took so much fucking perfect placement and a lot less hax than i thought it would. Here is where i realize I can do this pretty easily now. Gerik with his eyes closed looks so relieved. Franz will wake up soon, take out that shithead archer and the rest of Marisa's crew. The top half is pretty much all clear! He dodges two of them though, and I actually beat the chapter. Franz and Seth are making me moist. Finally... Poll is up for Neimi's promotion. Vanessa is an assassin no questions asked, but it'll be sometime before I can pick up a set of lockpicks... grooooan... This feels so good. I don't care. I'm going to ruin you.
