Choosing the Best Class for Rinkah (Poll 19)

Rinkah. A savage from the Fire Tribe; raised as the chieftains daughter. Although she has a strong-minded and courageous personality, she gets mad easily and lacks calmness. She adheres to her tribes law of solitude. Has the highest body temperature.

Spoiler (Marriage/Buddy Seals)

A Marriage/Buddy seal allows a unit to reclass into one of the select class trees of his spouse (S support) or buddy (A+ support). A unit may only achieve an S support with units of the opposite gender (exc. Kamui, Syalla, Zero), and may only achieve an A+ support with units of the same gender.

• If the users Primary Class is different than their Spouses/Buddy's Primary Class, then the Marriage/Buddy Seal will reclass them to the Spouses/Buddy's Primary Class, even if the user has that class as a Secondary Class already.
• If the users Primary Class is the same as their Spouses/Buddy's Primary Class, then the Marriage/Buddy Seal will reclass them to the Spouses/Buddy's Secondary Class.
• If the user is married or buddied with a unit who has an unlearnable class, then the Marriage/Buddy Seal will reclass them to the Spouses/Buddys Secondary Class.
  • An unlearnable class is a class that may be unique to a character or their children. The following units have unlearnable classes: Nishiki (Fox Spirit), Flannel (Garou), Azura (Singer), Mozume (Villager).
• If the user is married or buddied with a unit who has an unlearnable class, and their Primary Class is the same as their Spouses/Buddys Secondary Class, then the Marriage/Buddy Seal will reclass them to the Spouses/Buddys Substitute Class.
  • A Substitute Class is simply a select class a character with an unlearnable class passes down under certain circumstances. The following units have Substitute Classes: Nishiki (Herb Merchant), Flannel (Outlaw), Azura (Rod Knight), Mozume (Herb Merchant).

If you're still confused, let me use Rinkah as an example to try and clarify matters!

• Rinkah/Silas: Rinkah's Primary Class is Oni Savage, and Silas's is Cavalier. Therefore, Rinkah would Marriage Seal into Cavalier.
  • Rinkah/Kaze: Rinkah's Primary Class is Oni Savage, and Kaze's is Ninja. Therefore, Rinkah would Buddy Seal into Ninja. As Rinkah's Secondary Class is Ninja, he would not receive a new class tree from Kaze.
• Rinkah has no fellow Oni Savage to be supported
• Rinkah/Nishiki: As Nishiki's Primary Class is Fox Spirit, an unlearnable class, Rinkah would Marriage Seal into his Secondary Class-- Pegasus Warrior.
• Rinkah/Oni Savage!Avatar: Avatar's Primary Class is Nohr Prince, an unlearnable class. Rinkah's Primary Class is Oni Savage, and Avatar's Secondary Class is Oni Savage. Therefore, Rinkah would Marriage Seal into his Substitute Class-- Fighter.

It'll resolve her HP growing issue and along with Ogre Strike and Sol...it'll be worthwhile.

I'll say Blacksmith or Berserker for most optimal, but I'll be using her as a Shura every time because I love that class and not many other characters get access to it without Buddying or marrying/being the child of Rinkah, so I'd just love for it to get the use~

I really like Shura even though it isn't practical or optimal. As far as those two go, probably Blacksmith.

On a purely theorycrafting level, my concern with making Rinkah a Berserker would be how badly it axes her defensive stats. She's got precious little RES as it is and a lot of HP to make up for. She WOULD really like having HP +5, Roundhouse, and Axefaire, though, so it's definitely a class she'd love to have access to. I'm just not sure it's the best class for her to stay in.

As best I can tell by looking at her, Rinkah's purpose is to build DEF to the point that she only just barely gets chipped by anything coming her way, then rely on crits and Flame Blood to rack up damage in return. I like the sound of Blacksmith!Rinkah a lot - 20% HP, 15% STR and DEF - but it does murder on her RES (though not as bad as Berserker). Sending her Dread Fighter would help patch it over, but that's an investment I imagine not everybody wants to make. Shura has +3 base RES and can use Horse God to get some more, so that's probably the "easiest" Rinkah to build.

I think I'm going to say I prefer Blacksmith!Rinkah, Buddied to Oboro on Hoshido for Speed Seal or Charlotte on Revelation because obvious.

If I have to vote for a favorite class, I would choose Shura for the aesthetics. Practical is probably Blacksmith but I don't really know.

She does well with a Bolt Axe as a Shura if you throw a few +magic stat boosters her way (Orochi and Sakura don't need them anyway). It's not worth investing in Tomes however, unless you hope to get lucky with Ogre Strike. Spending a level as a Blacksmith to get Smithy Skill is probably worth your while as well.
