Original Alear
Nor so much discussion of foods people in general think look bad but you think look good because you like it. Rather, foods that you specifically like but don't think look tasty. For me, it does depend on how it's prepared, but I think eggplant looks icky. But I love it. Magical Glace
Ghormeh Sabzi is probably the big one, since I was basically raised on the stuff but I've never seen anyone else eat it. Oh well, I like it.
Koneko
the only thing I can think of is balut cause of how terrified people are when they realized what's actually inside it's pretty good imo but I guess that's only because I grew up on it never knowing what it actually was rip
Raguna
Colombian Fried Ants. I ain't kidding those things are delicious. Just don't tell anyone they're ants when they're trying them out. Reveal it to them when they're on an empty stomac. Parrhesia
The SF Cookbook opens with my risotto entry and man it looks fucking disgusting. Literally every part of it turns a discoloured grey-purple.

Original Alear
The SF Cookbook opens with my risotto entry and man it looks fucking disgusting. Literally every part of it turns a discoloured grey-purple.I find this funny because risotto normally looks pretty basic and inoffensive. I'm sure yours still tastes good though. Cool answers in general. (I'm surprised Shezzy said eel, because I think it looks pretty normal when I've actually seen it served, but I've only had it in japanese cooking (sushi and unadon). So it might look different made in different ways.)
