In some areas, I agree. While I don't mind the maps, I do agree that they could have at least replaced the ones that were repeated. And I don't really see the reasoning behind why the male and female mage line have to be different. And there are several things with the story I would alter if I was in charge. That said, ever since I've been replaying the game again, I do wonder if some of these decisions were less for artistic reasons, and more because of time and money constraints. I can see things in the story it seemed like they wanted to improve, alter, or expand on later, but didn't have the time or resources to do so. Similar deal with the maps and the lack of voice acting for quest givers, despite them being the ones to benefit the most from it. That, and the information given in the Valntia Accordion and the Drama CD make me wonder if IS is trying to retroactively fix Echoes story issues.
