On another note, good timing, because a poll for favourite FE in Japan came out recently, and I suppose it'll be interesting to see how close this gets to that.

Really, let's see.

Echoes being that low sold it for me.

What I find most interesting is that Dark Dragon for the Famicom placed so much higher than Shadow Dragon for the DS, and Mystery for the Super Famicom even more so than New Mystery. Even in Japan, there's a clear nostalgia bias.

I like Radiant Dawn the most. Granted I've only played through FE7, FE8 and half of PoR. Though I have watched Lets Plays of all of PoR, FE6 and SoV.

With Radiant Dawn, you get to see how the world is just three years after PoR. Unlike other FE games, you see the politics of many different countries and how they inevitably link to each other. Some of the best levels are present in RD thanks to the ledge mechanic making for some interesting design. I like how BEXP can give you exactly 3 stat ups which makes you think how to prioritize the BEXP. I was glad they removed reaver weapons which contradict the weapon triangle and made it so that each weapon type has exactly one effective weapon to make each weapon type more unique. The ability to enhance your characters with different skills was nice as was the ability to experiment with different skill combinations without losing them.
