Fact about Halloween in the older days

Trick or treat is when people go around as monsters, and if people didn't give them food or money then they'd be tricked. We all knew that.

But did you know that a thousand years ago, the trick in question was mostly burning down the bastard's house?

Edit: I thought this was general. Can it be moved?

Yes, I knew. There's hardly any tricks today though...

Didn't notice this thread.

Little known fact is that Nevada was admitted into the Union on October 31st, 1864. As a result, we have an excuse to have a "staff development day" and get the day off in public education schools.

Halloween was based off of a Pagan holiday of the Celts who offered to the Gods for good harvest and protection of their ancestors.

It wasn't until Catholics modified the holiday where people's homes would be burned as a trick. It's comments like this that create false information about the Pagan faith.

Catholicism did a lot of weird things to try and discredit the Pagan religion to promote their own.

But the past is the past and hating people for what their ancestors did is a good way to start, I dunno, holy wars like Pakistan v. Israel.

You mean Palastine and Israel.

I am a muslim and I wish that war would just end.
