Keep in mind most of the folks in the Bible are historically proven to have existed. Jesus himself existed, it's a matter if you believe if he is the Messiah/Son of God or just a regular man that makes the difference. The deal of Peter getting rid of forced circumcisation could of been written in some old Roman law or something like that.
