I don't know if it's also a the name of an existing entity in Fire Emblem

There is a character with a remarkably similar name that exists, and that's Eldigan's wife/Ares' mother Grahnye. She's just a background character, though.

Grani is written "グラニ" (gurani) in Japanese, whereas Grahnye is written "グラーニェ" (gurānye).

Her name is based on Grainne, Diarmuid's wife in Irish mythology.

As I describe in my thread about Fire Emblem's Irish names

 Grahnye is pronunced Graw-nya.

As for me, I associate Grani with this absolute boss

I really hope someone gets this.

Hardly remember Tamers, or any childhood anime for all that matter. But getting more into Grani, found out that guy was named after the mythological horse, even stated in-show. I don’t know if that’s an allegory to the myth him being essential to make Gallantmon Crimson Mode

Indeed, the wikipedia page for Grani even mentions Fire Emblem Heroes

And yeah, Tamers is full of nice references and stuff like that. Especially when it comes to the history of computing, but there's some episodes named after Shakespere quotes as well.
