  1. If that Awakening cutscene is anything to go by, it seems like she's treated as more of a leader than Rowan. Which should be a given if you're the oldest, let alone first in line to your mother's throne.
  2. With Fire Emblem Warriors a week away, I thought I'd take the time to address something that hasn't been talked about much: our two protagonists. More specifically, I want to discuss their role in Story Mode: what their characterization will be like, what differences there will be (if any), what characters they'll support, etc. I'll start off: Lianna: The more fleshed out of the two. Doubts herself a lot and feels like an unworthy heir to her mother (likely the main reason why she's wants to abdicate the throne to Rowan). She'll likely gain confidence in herself over the course of the game before accepting her role as the new queen. During the Fates segment of the game, she and Darius will end up in Nohr aiding the royal family while they search for Rowan (who is over in Hoshido). I can definitley see her having supports with Xander and Cordelia (two characters who, to a degree, relate to her). Rowan: The "vanilla" of the two. Somewhat immature based on some of the screenshots and cutscenes and almost certainly will be hit with the distress ball more often (ex. Falling down the hill during the Awakening arc and may potentially be rescued by the Hoshidan royal family when he gets separated from his sister). If anything, he may mature throughout the course of the game. As stated before, he'll be separated from Lianna during Fates and will end up with the Hoshidan royal family. Based on in-game dialogue, he may have supports with Ryoma and Chrom, the two other "Warrior Princes". Both: Whoever you choose to play as will be the one who inherits the throne at the end of the game.
  3. It's very likely not Caeda. Her personal weapon is the Wing Spear, which, as shown in her SD art, has a ring at the end, not a diamond. Also, something I'd like to point out from the recent trailer: in the scene where Rowan and Lianna are lining up with characters from the other games, Lianna has one less than her younger brother on her side. Given that the space after Robin is inexplicably empty, I'm guessing that that they may have edited out whoever is potentially the eighth major character in Story Mode, who is likely Azura or Caeda. Overall, it would be rather shocking if they excluded Azura not only because she's a major character, but also some cutscenes seem to imply that the Fates cast is going to journey to Valla during their segment of the plot and, well, she's the one who leads everyone there.
  4. So it seems Sakura is a light-user in this game (though the fact she used a wind attack prior to her critical threw me off a bit). Personally, I hope we see some more Wind, Fire, and Dark users at TGS.
  5. HOLY FRICKING-- these are glorious! And here I thought they couldn't make my two favorite map themes from Fates any better.
  6. I'm really thankful there's someone else trying to be rational in the midst of this ****storm.
  7. I'm not sure I'm the only one who noticed, but did anyone else see that she wasn't shown in any story cutscenes? That very likely means she's not going to be featured in story mode (not that it would make sense for her to be in there, anyway). So I'm still hopeful for next week. Edit: Wow, usually when I make statements like that I expect to be proven wrong, not the opposite.
  8. Honestly, this is the type of argument I wish I had initially wrote.
  9. It seems fake. What's the point of adding just Lyn and Celica if their games aren't even focused upon in story mode? But what really tipped me off was the fact that both Robins and Corrins were featured when the female and male respectively were explicitly stated to be alternate skins.
  10. So it's confirmed that Chrom has a Bond Conversation with Cordelia, so I assume that means each character will have at least four Bonds (with at least two with characters from each of the other games). Also the fact that Cordelia is the sole Pegasus Knight representative for Awakening likely means classes that are present in all three games will have one representative each while classes that are unique to only one or two games will feature multiple representatives, like how Awakening has two Lords (Now that I think about it, that does explain why Lucina was almost cut). So while that may kill some characters' chances (Beruka is the first that comes to mind), it does raise the chances of others.
  11. The only game I feel I can make hard speculation for is Fates. I'm putting asterisks at the end ranging from 1 to three, three if they're very likely and 1 if they're not likely and basing it off similar criteria as stated in the interview (Oh, and I'm ignoring weapon options for the sake of giving everyone a fair look). Confirmed: * Corrin * Xander * Ryoma * Camilla * Hinoka * Leo * Takumi * Elise * Sakura Speculation: * Azura *** * Jakob*** * Kaze *** * Saizo** * Setsuna ** * Oboro *** * Subaki * * Rinkah * * Kaden * * Laslow ** * Beruka ** * Niles *** * Effie * * Charlotte ** * Keaton *
  12. Yeah, I just read about that some time after I posted. I just hope there's not a huge difference.
  13. Lianna is Weiss Schnee confirmed! But seriously, I love that pair-up attack, it totally blows Rowan's out of the water.
  14. I feel like it's going to be more than 25 characters. This is for a two major reasons: 1. A lack of balance in representation between the games. If this was true then two of the three games are getting screwed over in terms of characters, and I can't see that happening. 2. No Fire Emblem game has had less than 30 characters. Based on some of the recent news, we're likely getting 32 characters minimum (some may be reserved for when the game comes out).
  15. So Sakura is in, that's good, and it's likely the upcoming pages will reveal M!Corrin and Azura's full art. On the subject of the former, I think he's also going to be a glorified skin like F!Robin, especially since it seems nonsensical to reveal him this late if he's part of the main five. So that leaves four more characters for Awakening and ten for SD, meaning we are likely going to have a total of at least 32 characters. This is a pretty good number of characters on its own, though I personally hope they're also reserving some characters for the game's reveal.
  16. Might as well make my predictions in light of the recent news. With Elise confirmed, Sakura and Azura are very likely to follow, which gives us 6 females and 4 males representing Fates. That being said, if the roster is indeed leaning toward an even ratio of male and female characters, then my guess is two of the neutral males will fill in the last slots for the boys, especially since they are both important to the story and have a good amount of popularity (i.e. they all ranked in the top 15). Furthermore, this would mean that each game would have at least 12 representatives, with an equal number of girls and boys for each, thus we would have total of 38 playable characters, including Rowan and Lianna, which is more or less the general roster size of your typical Fire Emblem game.
  17. AHHHH, my baby! So glad she's in-game (which mean Sakura will very likely follow)!
  18. Easily Lianna. If not for her gameplay (I've always had a thing for speedy offensive characters), then for the fact that she's the first sister of the recurring "twin lords" theme that is the heir to her kingdom's throne, which is refreshing, and she has more potential to be an interesting character compared to her brother.
  19. So I was just on Tumblr and YouTube today listening to some of the criticism following the release of the new characters and, while I guess I'm not surprised, I am really annoyed by how bitter people are getting over the game. I'll admit, of the three games, I've only played Awakening, and even then it's not my favorite (though from less of a story standpoint and more from a gameplay standpoint), but I have no problem with how they're creating the roster in Warriors. I really wish the rest of the fandom would exercise a little patience instead of passing off judgement so soon on a roster that is, very likely, not fully revealed yet.
  20. Honestly, I think most of the voices sound fine, if anything they're tolerable at worst and at best they've completely improved in comparison to Fates, Ryoma being the best example. That being said I do have a genuine problem with Hinoka: there's no defending it, Robinson's performance here is not fitting at all. I really hope they go back and re-record her lines before the game comes out in October. Other than that, I'm glad we got most of the siblings confirmed as playable and I can't wait for the news due next week.
  21. Ah ok, that's probably why no one else has replied yet. I'll correct that immediately.
  22. This is something I've been thinking about for a while, especially now that we have 12 confirmed playable characters and 8 confirmed bond conversations. What other convos can you see between the characters that have already been announced and what do you picture the context would be? Personally, the fact that there's unique pair-up dialogue between Marth and Corrin leads me to believe they will have something together, perhaps about the two being not so different.
  23. Corrin/Takumi: I get why Takumi is a popular character, but personally I never found that as reason enough to want to marry anyone, and the fact that it's the main reason he's a popular marriage choice just baffles me. He hardly has a meaningful relationship with her, in story and supports, and the latter makes no sense given how Takumi has already become more trusting in both of his recruitments, why is he back to being so harsh? Thankfully the localization changed the end of the A-Support so that it's more apparent that Takumi's warmed up to her, but even then I still believe it gets more love than it deserves. Corrin/Silas: This one's a bit borderline: on one hand, it's definitely one of Silas' better supports from a chemistry standpoint, especially given how mediocre/bad a lot of his others are, but because he's given the worst treatment of all the neutral males (e.g. near identical recruitment for all three routes and joins the latest in Revelation with nonexistent story involvement), his relationship with Corrin becomes less compelling, even worse considering that's one of his DEFINING CHARACTER TRAITS. It's better in Conquest with more screentime dedicated to Silas and Corrin's interactions, but overall it isn't enough.
