  1. Huh. Normally I get hyped by at least 1 thing in Feh Channels. Just...none of this really applied to me personally. But dang, what is with FEH and Loki? She has her own season in Aether Raids already, and now she gets a Rokr focus and was basically a guest celebrity in this Feh Channel. Also, a long time ago, I'm pretty sure I mentioned that we'd eventually get Loki in her true form. Looks like that's happening now. I appreciate that they had Surtr on the team when they were showing off her skills, as a reference to when she was introduced and who she was aiding at the time. There was awkward sensorship. But also I don't like her and her outfit looks super contrived. Looks like a pain to assemble and put on and stuff, and it doesn't even look good (and I'm not even talking about all the skin showing, which also annoys me, but no, I just mean from a design perspective. Especially the weird suspended napkin thing in front of her hips.) SUCH an easy skip for me, personally. Also, I think I see a bit more evidence to something someone guessed before: IS hating Ike for some reason. Like, I'm glad that Emblem Ike made it into the game and he's a good unit, but the timing makes it look like they wanted him out of the way before this dragonflowers incentive got added. I don't really care, though; I got my copy and I'm happy.
  2. Alright, this time I played through the chapter and am now going to give my impressions instead of doing a play-by-play. So, the plot's next big point is progressing as I expected. Like I predicted, it looks like the big guy himself is going to show up smack in the middle of the peace ceremony for a power play. Granted, this hasn't actually happened yet, but it sure looks like that's where it's headed. I have to wonder if Henriette will show up too, and maybe finally reveal the power she's been hiding. It'd be cool if she managed to stop whatever big move the big bad tries to drop during the ceremony. I'm also glad that we FINALLY got to see some more of the Emblian royal line's power in action...complete with a pretty neat incantation. Have to say, I didn't see that one coming. It was a good plot move. (We have yet to see the Askrans open gates apart from the very first-ever FEH trailer (the trailer opens up with it -- it's that blue outline that reveals the trailer), but eh.) Also, I feel like the positive response to Rat's funny freaked out pose may have gotten to IS' head a little. It feels like they're overdoing the "skittish and stuttering" aspect of her to the point of it getting gimmicky and out of character. That family talk was sweet. I'd feel a lot worse if it wasn't for the fact that Rat's only betraying them in order to save them. Also, Nidhoggr going off on a tangent and forgetting her point was so realistic. Very nice. It's not too hard to see that she's only mean as a way of expressing the opposite of how she really feels, too. She appreciates all that Rat does for the family, and finds it sweet how she stayed at her bedside when she was unwell that one time...but since Nidhoggr's trying to pretend like she doesn't feel connections to people right now (because of the assassination stuff) she expresses her sentiments condescendingly instead. Disassociation. I like the play on words with the Hand vs showing their own hand, too. That was a good line.
  3. Ah. Mozu. It's about time she made it in. I'm honestly surprised she hasn't been in sooner. Also, I love how she does better near nature terrain. It's so fitting! And YUKIMURA?! Okay, I didn't expect he'd make it in so soon/at all. I'm glad! ... Darn; kind of want to pull for him... I guess my free summon will be colorless. Also, they did a good job making Hayato look more different from Ricken. But his attacking art... The bottom of his nose needs to be more distinct from the rest of his face. It makes his face take a weird shape. Also, his "I ignore terrain" thing feels like he was late to the Kaldein (or however it's spelled) banner (especially since he's a magic practitioner.) Azura... I mean, it makes sense, given her connection to the Corrins, but... I guess I'm just kind of sick of her. All in all, fairly happy with this banner, PLUS it's skippable! Except that I want Yukimura. I'll try to just be patient -- he's entering the regular pool, so I should save my orbs for the fallen banner (even though they are also going into the regular pool. Fallen units are usually really powerful, though, and I love the theme the characters follow. I can wait for Yukimura.) Edit: Oh, Candace is the freebie this time, eh? Isn't she the gal from Midori's map? If so, nice! She's a fun baddie. Like, she was enjoyable to read and I like her design.
  4. Well, since I finally managed to pull Mark, I can save orbs for the upcoming Fallen banner! Yay! The problem? Uhh I don't have a lot of orbs stocked up. So...we'll see how many I have by the time that banner drops. Also, while I think it's unlikely, there's always that chance of an unexpected "must have" unit appearing before then. We'll see how this goes!
  5. It's never happening. M!Emmeryn, I mean. You know that this would just be an excuse to make more female characters. Joking aside, I don't know if IS would actually want to do this. They've been pretty good at sticking to what would reasonably be in character, even if the people in charge of FEH seem to be a bit unhinged regarding "MOAR WAIFUS N' FANSERVICE." It seems to me like main IS keeps them in check, mostly, being all "this far and no further." That said, such a relationship generally wears on the straightman, so it could be something that happens someday. I won't rule it out completely, but for now, it seems unlikely to me. Edit: To be clear, I'm not opposed to genderbent characters as a concept, personally. I'm worried about how it would be handled in this case, and how the fandom would respond.
  6. Little Lissa: My big brother, Chrom, is REALLY good at whacking stuff with his sword! Little Chrom: *jumps up and down and cheers while letting the little girl with him blast stuff with magic; does no whacking stuff with his sword* Dang, though, the art is so cute! Lissa's 4*, Frederick is free, and I was right about everything except for forgetting that these banners have 6 characters, not 5, on them. Because sometimes I derp super duper hard. Anyway, if I pull, I may go for the Robins. Man, I hope the story is Owain, Lucina, and the Morgans trying to babysit their parents. (I pointedly ignore any story in the trailers, so you guys know, so that I can enjoy the story to the fullest when it's fully available. So, please no posts being all "Well, the trailer had x story, so (etc.)") Hmm tempted to pull Lissa, too, so that I can have her son try to look after her. Ah, and this is probably something of a dream for ChromxF!Robin shippers. (Like how little kids (who eventually grow up to get married) being innocent friends is just so wholesome and really highlights an innocent and true bond.) Edit: @GuiltyLove Actually, I think F!Robin here still has some Grima in her, partially because of that scales skill and partially because of the "dragons pact" skill. (Like, she's the heritor of Grima, and Chrom is a heritor of Naga, hence the plural on "dragons.") (That said, I'm paraphrasing the skill names since I don't remember the names themselves so much as things about them. My memory is odd at times.) So, we get slumbering Grima, I suppose.
  7. Oh, I hadn't seen the silhouettes yet, but I just skimmed some chatter here about it (looks like Lissa and Frederick, but isn't he, like, a lot older than the Ylissian royalty? Wouldn't he be more of a teenager when they were kids?) Anyway, Chrom, Lissa, and Emmeryn have canon child designs, I think, so it would make sense to take advantage of those. If Frederick's on there too, then we're just missing 1 more character. I'd say it's for sure Robin (I'm legit curious about what little Robin would look like) but there's only 1 slot remaining and IS likes using both avatars when they're present (even if they split them up...unless they go with hooded androgynous Robin (like what they did with Mark) and slap him/her on a duo with kid Chrom.) That would be too bad, really. Awakening, more than any of the other titles, had the potential to mix generations as children. Like, Gen1 kids and Gen2 kids being friends, not realizing that they're related, putting the focus on the bond rather than the family role... That would have just been the sweetest thing. Edit: @Jotari I FLIPPIN' WISH! (But not on this banner.) I've been curious about her since I first played through Awakening!
  8. Reviving this topic as the original poster. IT IS TIME! (This was meant to be a long-standing topic anyway.)
  9. @Baron the Shining Blade Nice! I actually made a thread like this one for movement quotes in the past. If I can find it, maybe I should revive it. I'm the original poster, so it wouldn't be necro-ing, I don't think.
  10. So, I was training up my Emblem Ike in the assorted stratums of the training tower and a couple of times extremely appropriate exchanges happened between him and his foes. It felt like battle conversations and such! I wanted to share them and was all "Why not make a thread about it?" I'd love to see any you encountered between units you were using and their foes too! For the sake of avoiding spoilers for people still wanting to play through various titles, let's use spoiler tags to describe these. Emblem Ike (Path of Radiance/Radiant Dawn/Engage) Encounter 1 - Soren Encounter 2 - Zelgius Encounter 3 - Fallen Ike I found the actions and exact special quote activations to just be so appropriate. It was so fun! Please share your own as you encounter them, or particularly memorable ones from the past!
  11. Ah. Well, guess I'll wind up on the team of whoever wins in the righthand bracket after this round.
  12. Guess I'll start with Linhardt, then move on to Michalis if he loses. Or, if both lose, then Framme. If it comes down to Bernie or Mirabilis...not sure. Maybe Mirabilis? If it's anyone else, I'll probably favor the right side of the bracket.
  13. I believe the story behind the picture is this: Robin regained his/her mind after killing Chrom (or, as per the game's opening cutscene, was still somewhat in control when his/her hand oops-killed Chrom), and managed to go deliver Falchion to his daughter. However, (s)he didn't quite admit to doing the killing. Then, (s)he left before Grima could take over again, leaving behind a sad, stunned, and confused Lucina. That said, I didn't draw the picture. Anyway, there's at least 2 or 3 main story futures in Awakening, so it's pretty easy to put this into the "what if" category rather than a true depiction of in-game events.
  14. I don't, sadly. I know I saw a piece of fanart of young Lucina, but I thought there was also canon concept art for her. The fanart was tragic and beautiful -- she was holding Falchion, and Robin (hooded) was kneeling in front of her, having just passed it on to her.
  15. Nope. Hmm wait, am I remembering fanart or something? Anyway, white dress, smol Lucina. She looks somewhere between 6 and 9 years old in the pic.
  16. It may be a bit soon after getting our latest Awakening banner, but the child units as actual children would be a great way to use this banner. Lucina already even has a child design. Seeing kid Lucina and kid Owain being a duo of cousins would be really cute! Also, shy tiny Inigo. Little Morgans too. That said, I'd love to see young versions of other characters, too. (This is one of my favorite banner themes. XD) And as for Heroes... TOO MANY OPTIONS. Obviously, little versions of Alfonse, Sharena, Veronica, and Bruno would be nice, but I'd also like to see Gunnthra and Hrid as little kids. The most obvious way to go about this is child human versions of the fairies, though. We got Eitr, so we probably won't get Freyr and Freyja as children, but considering that "kids" refer to either young humans or young goats, I'd personally love the pun. For 3H, Young Dimitri and Young Edelgard already have designs. Them being a dancing dagger duo unit would be fun. I'm not entirely sure who else would be on this one, though. There are a lot of directions this could take. And then there's the Ram Village kids for SoV, which is such an easy banner to do.
  17. Well. I'm glad I have some orbs stockpiled (though this is going to cut into what I have for the upcoming child banner.) I didn't expect Emblem Ike to arrive so soon! I may not care about...well, anyone else here...but I absolutely MUST summon him! =D Edit: I skimmed people's comments. Yeah, I'd still really like to see Lord Ike's design somewhere (it's so good), and PoR get some more love in general. I GREATLY prefer it to RD myself (which I half pretend never happened just to preserve my sanity.) Also, I forgot to mention this, but I found it a bit weird that this version of Ike is wielding Ragnell. I know he does as an Emblem (Begnion's Altena exhibit in their museum is never getting this sword back, I guess, especially since Priam eventually gets it) but he's mainly an axe unit in Engage. Or am I remembering that wrong? Edit again: I forgot to mention this, but I love the voicing here! The art is really nice too! ^_^ (I wouldn't mind getting Embla so much, but I really hope I don't pull Elincia. I'm done as soon as I pull Ike, though.)
  18. Ahhh okay, in that case, I actually really like where you're coming from! It was just the wording before that gave me a faulty impression of what you meant. I'm all for theming more than just costumes, but the characters themselves. Like, I came up with a banner at one point focusing primarily on 3 Houses characters who were afraid of ghosts (Anette, Alois, Ashe), but also included someone who loved ghost stories (Mercedes) and who gets mistaken for a ghost (Marianne.) I know it's really Blue Lions heavy, but the story behind it was that the students from that house were given the task of investigating a haunted house (with Alois as supervision.) Turned out to just be Marianne.
  19. This is the thing I have the most issue with in this concept. I like that they give alternative, seasonal outfits to characters. It shows another side of them, and connects them to the player in a new way -- specifically, in a way that the player is familiar with (celebrating things together that both of our worlds can agree on, such as the seasons.) I actually think IS has been doing a fantastic job with this, too, making the seasonal celebrations something that the heroes would realistically celebrate/a holiday they could come up with themselves, while also having it be reminiscent of our world's holidays. It's also a great marketing opportunity, partially for these reasons, and partially because more designs mean more selling potential, as well as character/world exploration. Base designs are okay, but very limited. Once you've used an outfit, it's been used, and it's an absolute waste to use a base design for a seasonal holiday when it doesn't "go with" all the other ones. Seasonals are for exploring a new design, a new aspect of the character/world, and connecting in a new way with the player. That's how I view it, not only as a player of FEH, but as someone who creates, myself. It would be like if you only ever say your friends in one outfit and you never dressed up for anything special. It doesn't feel like you're close to that person at all. I love the idea of obscure characters coming into Heroes, but I think they should come in where they make sense to, and if it's on a seasonal banner, then they need a new outfit that matches (not exactly, but with similar design elements) the other characters on that banner. (For example, not all Day of Devotion outfits carry the same theme. The Askran one had white togas with a dyed gradient in them, while this year's focused on leaves and flowers.) This is just good marketing/design/worldbuilding/character exploration/"collect them all!"-style set distinction. It makes you excited for what new things will come next, and is a formula that's proven itself even in other mediums (pins, buttons, figures, art prints, keychains, etc.) to be something that works and that people enjoy. It makes the collection aspect remain fresh, while bringing old characters back in a way that even people unfamiliar with them can discover and enjoy them. Ultimately, I think it's good for the worlds, characters, business, and most players (but I recognize that there are staunch traditionalists who hate any kind of design change too, and for different reasons. I'm not about to put everyone who arrives at this conclusion into a single box as to why they don't like the new stuff. Their opinions matter too.) Anyway, that's my take. Like and wish for what you want, of course. I just thought that if you're making a whole thread about it, then I may as well just drop another perspective here for the sake of formulating a more composite thought/considering other sides before deciding on what IS "should" do.
  20. Going through it now. I'm glad they're smoothing over the plot points, giving them more detail. For example, Anna bringing up "the people favor you and you have authority over the court, so they should listen to you." That was (half) something I'd brought up, myself. "Askr is not the only beneficiary of the peace." I like this line. 🙂 Hey, nice! We get to see Veronica's room again! I think we've only seen it in animations so far. "It numbs the senses and dulls the pain." Well, if she's planning to assassinate her, then at least that's not the cruelest way to go about it. Oh. She just used it to drug everyone guarding Veronica. That's too bad. Oh wow, Xander gets namedropped again. Ah, he was sent to protect her mom. That's nice, but, uh, that this is getting said by Nidhoggr makes you wonder if those two are still alive. Nicely written in. "It seems...you're all alone." Well-written cruelty there. That's the thing that's been haunting her for...well, ever (mostly.) It was one of the things she had in common with Embla (bat.) "The wicked deeds of your past are far too great to simply ignore, you know, Princess Veronica..." That's got to be another insecurity she's picking on (while also justifying the assassination and convincing Veronica to stop struggling and accept her fate.) Dang, okay, this lady is poisonous in every way. Also, this scene is very well-written. It's already really surpassed my expectations. "But that is why I must change." Way to go Veronica, taking ownership and trying to make things better! Dang; nice! And then a quick message from our sponsor, Rat, to give a reason for the Askrans to go there. XD Well, it worked, and worked well! This may be the part in the opening movie when she bursts through the window, but if the Askrans are camped nearby like I thought they were (so they can go to the nearby peace talks) then not? Ah. Have to say, it must be hard running away when drugged like that. Thankfully, the assassin also is constantly eating that fruit so she's not in the best shape to give chase. And I'm glad they showed that. XD Not a bad little scene there. Pff-! Nidhoggr's in-map (humanoid) idling animation is all swaying and tottering. XD Nice touch. Ohhh and she's an armored unit. Okay, her previous chase with Veronica is throwing me back to that running (haha) joke where armored units can't hurry so well. X3 YES! She's a naga. I'd hoped so after seeing Hraesvelgr was a harpy! Also, I feel like my earlier theory just gained more credence: Nidhoggr hates having turned to assassination, and is always drunk because she wants to inhibit her memories/feelings on it. The new bit I'm talking about is her defeat quote: "Let me forget..." Ah, Rat's reprising her role as a member of the healing hands, eh? Yes! Heal her, nurse squirrel! "My sister's poison has no mortal cure." Man, that's useful knowledge. "When the ceremony comes, I will...show no sign anything has happened." I bet she could, too. She's been hiding pain for the sake of her role for a long time now. Man, this is such good development/exploration for Veronica this chapter. OKAY all in all, fantastic chapter! I don't really see anything that needs to be changed, though I do wish that this chapter could have a whole animation. There's a lot in this one that, while implied, would do well to have its actual actions shown. But dang, Veronica recognizing her past mistakes and making peace with them and trying to move past them, asking a favor of fellow royals for the sake of peace between their countries and foreseeing how that's what is being threatened right now... You really get that feeling of duty, growth, and responsibility here, and that's fantastic. I have to say, I'm curious about what will happen with these peace talks. Seems like we're getting close to Rat being discovered as a triple agent. Will a new character be introduced during the ceremony? Will the assassins stop with the pretenses and make their presence known? Will they target Henriette while peace talks are going on? Any of these could happen, and all of them would be big statements/plot points. It's about time for something heavy like that to drop. Anyway, this one was nice! Veronica's really come a long way from being the self-pitying lonely girl with tea parties, dolls, and jealousy. She's downright regal now. Nice. 🙂
  21. Yep; middle-class clothes. Shopkeeper or craftsman styles, you know? And, of course, with what they're selling and such as props! Like, Clanne and Hisame could have a bunch of pickled items in jars around them. Maybe their "tome" could be a pickle jar, too. (Reminder: Pickles aren't always just cucumbers!) Indeed. Sakura/plum blossom/peach blossom are actually more closely related to roses! They don't produce fruit, and are purely ornamental trees. That said, the fruit-bearing trees do blossom too, but not in the same season and they're not the same species. Sorry to hear about your cold experience! I hope you get to see the flowering trees someday. They're gorgeous. 🙂
  22. Oh I'm not upset. Just not enthused. As I said, there just wasn't really anyone to be excited about, speaking personally. Peony was one of my top two picks of those here, so I'm mildly happy about it, just not very.
  23. Ok cool. Free Peony. Of the 8, she was one of my top 2 to get, if only for fodder. I'm satisfied, I guess.
  24. I still want my Hisame+Clanne farmer's market pickle merchants harmonic.
  25. I see my dream of a sleepover banner drifting further and further away. Anyway...this is...some lineup. The token spunky bunny girl, the token "I'm cuddle-able" girl, the token busty ladies, the token "I'm embarrassed to be a rabbit" guy, and...Linhardt. Haven't seen his response to all this. Might be the "eh. Whatever." guy. This banner sure has a history of weird archetypes... Well. Framme's in before Clanne. Maybe it's just me, but that feels wrong. I get Cloe and Cordelia having fairy tales in common, but...I don't know. Feels like they're coming in before various others should, but "should" is up to IS so...eh. I don't feel invested at all in this banner. I'll probably skip it.
