  1. Amaterasu won't work with the clones, only those close to the originals will benefit from it. Other aura skills (damage boosters/reducers) will still work. Debuffs don't stack, even if from different sources.I think Astra should be on both characters, since it'd allow them to increase the shield gauge faster. I'd take Amaterasu and Inspiration off Ryoma, since he's best used as a hitter and you'd probably have a better supporter to use near the front rows (any female royal actually), that would be able to support other frontmen AND Ryoma. If you switch one of those skills with Astra and the other one with Defender (Paladin LV5 skill, Silas bond, all stats +1 when paired up) or Dual Guarder (Lodestar LV25 skill, even though it's a DLC class, you get one free). Either way, you boost Ryoma's durability. You can use Dual Guarder as one of Shiro's skills. It works for both front and rear fighters (if both characters had it, it would increase four shields per attack). The supporters I mentioned earlier are any of the female royals with Inspiration (all of them can get them easily, Elise directly, Hinoka via Azura and the other three via Elise or marrying Jakob) and Amaterasu (Hinoka, Azura and Sakura con access Amaterasu on their own and Elise and Camilla by bonding with Azura and Hinoka respectively). While getting Inspiration, they'd get Demoiselle as well, for further support. Azura's Songstress skillset and Camilla's Dark Mage would give them more auras. Camilla at her default class can be sturdy enough to stand near the front rows. Just using Lazward as a Rallybot and not giving him additional rallies is a waste. You can get SKL within Lazlow's skillset, STR via Keaton bond, and other ones via marriage (DEF with Camilla/Beruka, RES with Elise, SPD with Selena, MGC with Orochi on Revelations path). That'd make three Rally skills loaded (you can, of course buy any skill you want in other castles). Copycat would work perfectly to rally to sides of the map. Instead of Stubbornness, try getting Renewal from a castle, since it's a guaranteed 30% heal instead a LCK-chance 20%. Nohr only activates proc skills, and neither LoD or Extravagance are, so it's just a +20.
  2. Right, I hated those Counter-Kamikaze warriors.
  3. They stack, so you should try it with Azama and Hints. Countermagic also works with magical weapons, so it would be a great asset for him to protect himself against levin swords and bolt naginatas and axes some enemies have.
  4. It's the Barb Shuriken. So far I've only used Kaze and Rinkah as DF, mostly to help early game lunatic with a "promoted" character, but keeping their weapon ranks (shurikens for Kaze and axes for Rinkah), while slowly raising the other two weapons as needed. However, I felt that the first two skills weren't that useful, even a waste, since there weren't that many enemies that could cause them magical damage anyway. From the common characters, Silas would have swords in any of his classes if turned DF, but you'd be losing mobility, so I wouldn't recommend it. Both Felicia and Jakob would have weapon ranks shared among all of their classes (only missing tomes to attack if turned Strategists, but they'd keep their staff rank). Kaze would be able to use either swords or shurikens in any of his classes, so his usefulness wouldn't be hampered by that. Hinata, Rinkah and Saizo are the only path units in BR that would have weapon synergy across all of their classes (at least one common weapon in each of their natural classes with the DF class). In CQ, Laslow, Beruka and Xander can switch to DF keeping their weapon rank in at least one weapon, but both Beruka and Xander would lose their high mobility, however, they'd benefit from higher SPD and RES growths than their original classes.
  5. And if you promote Midori right away into puppeteer, she'll start getting ninja skills. Many kids will have this gimmick with their inherited classes, like Master of Arms Mozu!Shiro and Mozu!Hisame, Kinshi knight Azura!Kiragi or Basara Oboro!Selkie and Orochi!Shiro.
  6. Poison Touch would work in that scenary, since it only affects your target (unlike Savage Blow) and during player's phase (unlike Grisly Wound). If you kill the character, PT would't activate because the character is dead, elseyou lose because you didn't kill him with one blow.
  7. But each of them had another personal weapon from the start of each game, call it Rapier, Wolf's Beil or Reginleif. Getting a weapon that could be ranked D at the start of the game as Prf isn't as unusual. The only difference is that he has to activate its hidden power by overcoming the Rainbow Sage's test and other hardships before it actually feels a legendary weapon. However, on the other characters you mention: Marth: I agree he has to fight for it... but he shouldn't have lost it in the second book. Eliwood and Hector: even though they have to face tasks, Lyn got her Sol Katti just because she happened to travel with the other duo. Ephraim and Eirika could have accessed their Holy Weapons before the war began. They just left them behind (it makes sense in order not to break them). They did take their other OP weapons (specially the Reginleif). If you check the other games: Both Sigurd and Celice have to recover the Tyrfing after their respective fathers demise. Celice, however can inherit Sigurds other weapons, which can be quite a few. Leif starts with the Light Sword and the Blaggi sword isn't locked to him after all. Ike has the Ragnell since his father's death, he just doesn't use it. He hadn't done anything by that time actually. Chrom has the Falchion from the start as well, so he just has to unlock its potential. What I mean is that not everyone has to earn the right to wield a weapon, since half of the holy weapon wielders are linked to their weapons because of their ancestry, and the Yato might have chosen him just because he had dragon and Vallite blood. And he had done something, he took a bomb to Hoshido to blow the statue that hid the sword.
  8. Maybe "talent" should be different from "regular class". That way you could get the custom unit unique class (or two versions, magical and physical) by progressing in the game and gaining the trust or respect of other classes through the game. This way, a character would climb through ranks in the military to get to the High Command, or get true respect from them. Maybe there could be as many as this six: Leadership:Field Commander: This character would be known for inspiring his allies so that they fight better, take less damage... He'd have skills that grant various aura boosts for allies and high combat capabilities since he'd be most of the time near combat. Strategy:Tactician: This character would be known for realising enemy moves and being able to counter them, while keeping the terrain in check. He'd have skills that negate nearby enemies aura skill effects and/or aura protection versus map gimmicks. His combat capabilities would be average giving him certain versatility. InsightInquisitor: Talented to see through lies and acts, he'd be able to predict people moves and act accordingly. He'd be able to negate totally or partially certain enemy skills in combat (like Vantage, Blow skills with reduced effect, reducing proc skills trigger rate) and inexploit enemy weaknesses (like increasing effective weapon might and accuracy). Survival:Infiltrator: He'd be able to survive in hostile landscapes, making him the perfect spy. His main assets would be his high evasion and mobility and greater use of map gimmicks (like double terrain bonuses or avoiding traps and negative bonuses) and he might be able to set traps and ambushes himself (attacking if an enemy tries to go through a given square, suffering damage or being attacked by the character). Offense:Myth: He'd be the one-man-army legends talk about. His skills would be focused on dealing damage and player phase, like AOE attacks with chance of killing (unlike Ballistician Cannon skill), great combat capabilities. Protection:Warden: He'd be a character bound to directly protect allies, with superior Defense and Resistance and medium-high offensive capabilities to tank during enemy phase. He'd have good defensive skills (like boosted Pavise and Aegis or immunities) and protection for allies, like taking damage in Pair Up instead of the front character instead of raising the shield gauge (it would take twice as long for it to fill unless one or both of them have Dual Guardsman skill). It could lead to having a trainee as a frontman and having this character soaking damage in its stead while the trainee strikes. Support:Master Medic: Devoted to healing and caring for his allies, he'd be the ultimate support unit, but with the drawback of being limited in his combat skills. Increased healing (curing ailments and debuffs, or using any staff/potion as an aura staff) and some buffing skills, medium combat skills (it's a support unit anyway). Another choice could be healing allies when in Tag Team instead of attacking, thus increasing the durability of the other unit. This would lead to more important decissions when creating the character, since it would affect the story events and the overall strategy in the mid-late game, since you'd have an OP character for certain situations. This means that if you have access to the Field Commander or Myth, a direct approach would be the best strategy, while with a Survivalist, more indirect approaches should be taken.
  9. I like this idea of character developing through the game, with several (5-6) personality gauges (slightly more complex than the lawful-chaotic/good-evil). I'd go even further: take this to the supports. In each support, the player gets one to three choices (depending on the support level) that would move one of his gauges up or down, unlocking higher level supports (each support would have requirements, so that if you develop an aggressive personality, pacifist characters won't want to support you). Also, if you stray from a path you've taken, like becoming reckless when you used to be cautious, you'd lose the benefits of the support and get an extra short conversation, being called everything but beautiful by your former best pal. I'd also make conversations be more relevant to the plot as the story progresses, so that you could get an entirely different story for this character every time to get all the supports. Then, at certain game points, you'd get crucial points for your character that would give a greater boost to one of his personality gauges, and maybe change his personal skill. Like I've said in other forums, I'd give every character a favourite weapon, accessible from every class. If the custom character gets a special weapon, it'd match its talent main weapon.
  10. She'll get them if you give her Selena's A+ support.
  11. At least Iron weapons shouldn't be obtainable since there's a skill that can get them for you, at least the Hoshidan ones (it'd work better if it got you Hoshidan weapons while in a Hoshidan class and Nohrian weapons while in a Nohrian one).
  12. Well, if getting extra visit and battle points is an issue... However, this is Revelations and you have the chance to grind in extra maps.
  13. Nice job. While browsing it, I noticed some minor issues just to make it perfect : Fuga should get Diviner from Hayato (unless it's a singular ocurrence). In Laslow's reference, Xander has the Hoshidan seal, while he cannot be recruited on that route. Selena can get Kinshi Knight inherited from her mother naturally, so the font from Setsuna's support should be smaller. The same with Beruka and the Hero class with Selena's support. I think that's everything I'd fix. As I said before, it's very well done. Congratulations.
  14. Each time you try to persuade a prisoner, resources needed to recruit are reduced. Maybe after reaching a certain threshold, the prisoner is recruited. I've noticed that the classes from both the guard and the prisoners may reduce the amount of resources even further, just like the discounts you get from the einherjar shop.
  15. Get Inspiration for her from other castles, logbook or through the Strateegist class (A+ Elise/marry Jakob), and you'll get her as a better support-bot. I'd load her with Inspiration, Amaterasu, Inspiring Song, Warp (if available, you get a free Witch Mark/Sighting Lenses, who you use it on is up to you), and one or two of the following skills Foreign Princess, Voice of Peace and Demoiselle, based on the situation (fighting Foreign Army, high number of physical enemies or high number of male allies).
  16. You forgot Scarlett (when at low HP though). Solidarity (DLC) can increase adjacent units critical chance, it can be useful for Arthur, since he can lower enemies dodge and increase allied critical for a grand total of +25%.
  17. Actually, for those two classes you don't need to marry anyone, since you can get them in BR by buddying Kaze/Saizo/Kagero (Ninja) and Ryoma/Hinata/Hana (Samurai), depending on your avatar gender, it would be any of the first two or the third. The only Hoshidan class that would require you to marry a character to get it in BR is Oni Savage, which can only be passed by marrying Rinkah. We could say that for the avatar the main class-changing seal is the Friendship Seal, since it allows him to get almost any class in the game. And for the way of leveling up, there are plenty of threads out there focused on min-maxing, so you could check them for ideas or post your final build for people to help you. Just remember that level-up gains are just as important as skills, so if you want a skill from a magical class for a physical character, you may want to spend as few levels as possible in the alternate class (like Effie getting Renewal/Countermagic).
  18. Characters: +I would have two Corrins for starters, male and female. The one you don't choose is the one that would join the other faction. Both would know they're twins, but even though their relationship with the Nohrian family would be close, it wouldn't be siblinglike. It would be stated from the start that though they're royalty, they aren't Sumeragi's own children. +Garon wouldn't be Muk in disguise (controlled is OK, big mount of mud isn't). +Gunter would be the Nohrian equivalent of Yukimura, downgraded to a regular guard/retainer by Garon after the kidnap beacuase of his ideals. He'd eventually be restored to that position by Corrin. +Lilith would be playable with a role similar to Azura's (reasons to be explained in plot). +Special recruitable characters (Flora, Yukimura, Izana) would be recruited normally through the story by meeting certain requirementes in some chapters. This type of recruitment would be reserved for a selection of characters from the other route that would join the character after certain events. The development of the story would go in three parts: +Introduction (around ten chapters long): you'd be using both Corrins along with Felicia and Jakob at the beginning. Afterwards you'd get some Hoshidan would-be-retainers. In these maps you'd have at least one face off with Hans, making him gain importance in future events and setting his relationship of rivalry with both Corrins. The Yato would split in two at the moment of its appearance, each of the Corrins receiving a replica of the weapon, but based on their talent (a mercenary would receive a Yato sword, while a samurai would receive a katana and an archer a yumi). Gameplaywise, the Yato's shape wouldn't make a difference (their base and promoted classes would allow them to use them). +The Choice: The player chooses a side and his Yato and dragonstone transforms (Light Yato and Dragonstone for Hoshido and Dark Yato and Dragonstone for Nohr). The other Corrin would follow the alternate path. +The War: This part of the story would be common for both routes, each seen from a different perspective (either Nohrian or Hoshidan), and getting unique characters (Azura and Silas for Hoshido and Lilith and Kaze for Nohr). Azura and Lilith would continuously try to stop the war since both of them have knowledge of the real enemy: -Hoshido: They would start of defending from a Nohrian aggression led by Hans and some Nohrian Royals. At some point they would be pressed back into their country and turn the tides to get into Nohr. -Nohr: Corrin's first missions would take him to suppress the revolts within Nohr, but they would actually just halt them temporarily. Then he'd be sent off to aid in the invasion when the Hoshidan army started retaking their territory. +The plot twist: This is the point where the fate actually changes. Both Corrins face each other in battle, one of them dying and the other ending severely wounded. Then there would be several chapters where the royals of the chosen faction (the winners) would look for a cure for the surviving Corrin. These would be identical chapters to be done with a different set of characters. After the plot twist: -Hoshido: They'd keep fighting Nohr out of Hoshido, and eventually feel the need to invade it since Xander, Camilla and Leo wouldn't hold their attack to avenge N!Corrin. From this point on, the story would unfold as it does in the game, more or less, but with a chapter where the army storms a prison to rescue rebels, where Scarlett would be found (Hans as the boss of this chapter). This chapter you'd have to rush in order to save her, since Hans isn't too fond of her. N!Corrin's death would give Xander the motives for not holding back in combat (it's more plausible that he wants to avenge N!Corrin, who died by H!Corrin's hand, than support Garon's rule). -Nohr: Ryoma would have died during or after the battle of the dragons. After H!Corrin and Ryoma's death, Takumi and Hinoka would set out in a revenge mission, while Sakura would stay grieving in the capital. After watching the attrocities of Hans and Iago while Corrin was out at Garon's orders, he/she sets out to lead the rebellion him/herself, releasing Scarlett and having to fight off the Hoshidan siblings, killing Takumi in a squirmish. Then the former invasion army, now rebel army, would face Garon and his lieutenants. The revelations path would have both Corrins unite and not join either side. I haven't thought of the details, but this time around they'd have to work out a way to end the war with the help of Jakob, Felicia, Lilith and Sakura.
  19. I agree with these two comments. Azura is stronly meant to be a support character (two aura skills from her signature class and a buffing skill, plus an aura personal skill). If something should be added to her to increase her usefulness are Amaterasu, Inspiration and/or Warp (if available). If using her in a different class, I'd say Kinshi Knight if you're going to use her offensively (high mobility while staying in a second row), Falcoknight to use more supportively (healing allies instead of attacking, since high level staves will cover for her not being a pure magical) or Priestess to go either way (less mobility though). Anyway, her most broken class/skill combination in the game is Warp-Songstress, since it's basicly granting any character a second move by warping.
  20. Actually, I find Heartseeker more like a Berserker/Wyvern type of skill, since it only affects units standing right by the character that has it and axes are inaccurate as hell. Most bows, on the other hand, are useless against adjacent enemies, unless Point Blank is equipped, so I wouldn't use that on an bow-locked unit (be that Sniper, Adventurer, Priestess...).I also think that there's always a better suitor for any skillset than the Avatar just because of the personal skills. It's already been said that Kana has innate healing, just like Velouria, but Midori has an edge activating Good Fortune, and Azura has a natural healing aura and she can get all the other skills in the proposed set easily (Camaraderie and Amaterasu come from the Sky Knight tree, Renewal from Sakura's friend tree and Good Fortune from partner Avatar or Laslow, Aether is pretty much free since it's DLC). The only thing that gives an edge to the Avatar, is being able to become almost any class in his route in every run. You can become a thief (Shura, Anna), cavalier (Silas, Sophie) and trobadour (Felicia, Jakob) regardless of the route and gender you choose. Then you have ninja (Kaze, Kagero) and diviner (Hayato, Izana, Orochi) for males and B/R routes females, and sky knight (Subaki, Azura) and archer (Takumi, Mozu) for female and B/R routes males. Now, to add some positive thinking, I think that an offensive proc skill is what Snipers actually need. Even half-skill activation rate would get a nice chance to activate. You could go with Rend Heaven for consistent activation or Aether or Astra for additional demolition. Luna would be somewhere in the middle, and Ignis should be ignored in this set since it should only be used in hybrid builds (Nohr Noble, Basara, Dark Knight or Dark Flyer), because magic weapons won't trigger skills (except Felicia's Plate). As a support tag team unit, the Avatar could have the following set: +Dual Striker/Solidarity +Inspiration +Charm +Demoiselle/Gentilhomme +Amaterasu It would grant +6/-4 to damage dealt/taken for the supported unit (if story character, +4/-2 otherwise) and an additional -2 taken if the main character belongs to the right gender and regeneration for the next turn. Other characters suitable for this set (due to their personal skills and class availability) are Hinoka and Elise, that can get it in any route by Azura's A+ support, Sakura and Azura in Revelations by Elise's A+, or Camilla (This one gets trickier since, although you can A+ Elise for the Trobadour set or Hinoka for the Sky Knight, you'd have to get some of the skills from other castles or the logbook, or marry the required character, being these Takumi, Jakob or the Avatar with the adequate talent). Gunter (would need to buy Amaterasu), Felicia and Jakob could also make this an interesting set as long as they support the Avatar, otherwise it's just like everybody else. Siegbert as a female supporter would work too.
  21. There are many moves in martial arts where the user ends up on the floor. As a matter of fact, in several disciplines falling to the floor is taught before attacking.
  22. I think that each of the amiibos should bring a pair of opposite sex characters from their game. Something like this:+Marth-Caeda: with a female only pegasus knight class for her (Pegasus Princess maybe, equipped with the Wind Lance) with Dancing Blade, Charm, Dual Guarder, Skl/Lck/Res-Taker (just different from the existing ones, and Def-taker makes no sense, maybe speed for Caeda and switch Marth's with skill would make more sense). +Ike-Micaiah: with Light Sage class (Onmyoji with different growths/caps, just like Vanguard is a version of the Hero class, equipped with Thani) with access to Magic Blade <-1 SKL,+3MAG> (similar to the Vanguard's, but adapted to a magic unit), Healing Hands <Extra Healing when using staves, like in Awakening>, Flare <reduces DEF/RES and recovers HP> (adaptation of her RD master skill), Magictaker (equivalent to Ike's Strenghttaker). I think Micaiah fits better than any other candidate (Elincia or Sanaki) since she plays a more important part in RD and wouldn't make a redundant class with Caeda (pegasus rider). +Lucina-Chrom: Both Great Lord (with Parallel/Exalted Falchion, while Marth holds the plain ol' Falchion), but making some changes to the skills, like switching Charm for Charisma <+1/-1 to damage dealt/taken> (a lower version of inspiration, but at level 10) and Flare for the male version (to avoid it being redundant with the Vanguard's proc skill). +Robin-Morgan or Male-Female Robin: Both Grandmaster, making it unisex. Their weapon of choice would be the Thoron and Thunder Sword (stronger version of the Levin Sword without the no Crit/no Skill part), just like their main weapons in Smash. I'd give this class the possibility to get A-rank in both weapons.
  23. Silas can get both ninja (via Kaze) and samurai (via Ryoma), so it's just a matter of time managment. Have you planned either character skill setting or role? That'd really help choosing the talent, since most of the time your main character will be a DF, unless you want to try to fix some stat by switching her to another class temporarily.
  24. The talent should be set to help your planned pairing, since you'll get almost any class with Friendship Seals. For boon and bane, you should choose something that favors physical power. I'd use STR/SPD for boon and LCK/MAG for bane.
