May I ask why? I wouldn't sacrifice rare units either (only if a spare unit is available), but 20k feathers are faster saved up these days than one year ago. If you play arena every week, you should rise in tiers fast and thus have a steady feather income (plus there are modes like TTs and VG).

Even if you don't want to sacrifice a 5* unit (or 20k feathers), TA/Raven could be an option for Merric. TA3 is available from 4* Roy and also TA2 (from 4* Cordelia and 4* Selena) is already good. The only difference between Gronraven and Gronraven+ would be 4 ATK. With TA3/simple Gronraven Merric would take more or less zero damage from colorless units and few damage from blue units (special damage aside).

The same goes for Gronnblade: Merric would deal a lot of bonus damage by buffs (up to +20 damage with full buffs from Hone/Fortify), no matter if he had the + variant equipped or not. For Gronnblade you would need some other C-skills and seals on his teammates though.

I'm not arguing against his personal tome. Like it was said before, it's a valid option, especially if you don't want to sacrifice many feathers.

I completely understand that feathers are common but I don't really like sacrificing 5 stars still i only sacrifice them when i've spares

I would go with a Blade build [Gronnblade, Moonbow/Glimmer, Life and Death/Fury, Desperation, Speed+3/Heavy Blade] or Raven build [Gronnraven, Glimmer, Triangle Adept, Bowbreaker, Distant Def/Deflect Magic/Resistance +3]. Distant Def and Deflect Magic would be ideal and you get better scoring, but Resistance +3 also works (it is for Reinhardt who uses Glimmer-Heavy Blade) if you do not have the former two for some reason.

    @XRay
I was thinking of not inheriting 5* units just for weapons because i'm a player that those not really like sacrificing 5 stars.

Oh cool. My Merric's getting shown off. Thanks @mampfoid

@HenryKaze101 Congrats on Merric BTW. He's one of my fave units to use. +SPD and +ATK are good on him. At the moment, mine has an HP bane too, and honestly...it's not THAT terrible on him. He's still got a lot of HP to work with. I honestly just like running him with Excalibur or Dark Excalibur. Excalibur is great for fighting against flying units. He's basically a mage archer. With buffs, mine could take out problem units like Elincia despite color disadvantage. Dark Excalibur is what I run now because he likes the extra damage. And if you give him Bonfire, he's doing quite a bit of damage. I say Excalibur/Dark Excalibur, Bonfire, Fury, and Bowbreaker are my favorite skills to make him a good Brave Lyn counter. He can also counter Reinhardt (even with -RES) if he has Deflect Magic 3 as his sacred seal. But he can't usually counter both during the same match. I've recently running Distant Defense seal on mine, and that works out too.

Thank you for the Build i will most likely go for the build you suggested ^_^

Too bad his bane is -HP, he could have been a good candidate for infantry pulse (if you played the last Mini-TTs and got a Marisa). If your Marth hasn't got a HP boon and your Gordin has got a HP bane, it could still work without giving him an HP+ seal.

With Marths Falchion refined, Merric could wield the Gronnowl+ tome and profit from a team which is always pretty stacked together. Another option would be Triangle Adept + Gronnraven+ to make Merric your blue/colorless-check.

Since he is not an "optimal" unit, there isn't an optimal build. Some people run him with Close Counter, which would go well with the Threaten skills on your Linde and Gordin.  @Rafiel's Aria's Merric is pretty awesome (even if a lot of stats come from merges and summoner-support):

I'm not planning to sacrifice 5* but i bet these builds are great

  3. Since I can't show the photo becauses of MB space i'll just text

    So i've Merric

I 5 stared him because  of his spd+ hp- IV
what build can i give him?

    Brave Bow+
    Draw Back
    Ignis
    Fury 3

Alrighty, first off, the classes that can use Swords (and therefore Omega Yato) are...

    • Hoshido Noble
    • Nohr Noble
    • Swordmaster
    • Master of Arms
    • Master Ninja
    • Blacksmith (This isn't available to you, since your MU can't access the Oni Savage class line)
    • Paladin
    • Great Knight
    • Hero
    • Bow Knight
    • Dark Knight
    • Dread Fighter*
    • Lodestar**
    • Vanguard**
    • Great Lord** (This isn't available to you, since your MU is male)
    • Grandmaster**

    * This class can only be accessed if more than one path is purchased.
** These classes can only be accessed via DLC

And since you said you prefer physical damage, we can count out Nohr Noble, Dark Knight, and Grandmaster from that list; maybe Hoshido Noble, too, if you're feeling particularly hard-line about physical-only.

Now, let's see what your +Luck/-Resistance build gets you as far as cap modifiers are concerned:

    Strength: +2
    Magic: +1
    Speed: -1
    Luck: +4
    Resistance: -3
Caps for all unmentioned stats have no modifiers either way.

For a physical damage-based build, I think Vanguard would probably be the best option if you want something that can use Swords. As for skills... well, I'll leave it to you to construct a final skill set that suits your desires and style best, but I can certainly offer some suggestions!

    • Swordfaire is always a good option if you're planning on wielding the Omega Yato as your primary weapon.
    • If you want to tighten up your defenses, Lancebreaker and Shurikenbreaker are both good go-tos, and you can't go wrong with Aegis or Pavise either.
    • Draconic Hex is an excellent way to make your opponent think twice about engaging your MU, since it'll be putting whoever they send in a bad spot afterward unless they can take out your MU in one shot. Countermagic would be a neat way to sort of play off of their weak Resistance stat and discourage opponents from taking advantage of it.
    • LifetakerStrengthtaker, or Speedtaker might be nice additions, but remember that you can't stack them; you have to pick just one. Skills like Aggressor, Certain BlowDarting Blow, and Death Blow would compliment them very well. You could also slip Galeforce somewhere in there, but do remember that it will only activate if your MU kills an enemy without any kind of pair-up assistance!
    • If you like to live dangerously, Life and Death would give a huge boost to your MU's attack power, but be very careful regarding the enemy phase, as well as potential counterattacks in general!
    • Aether, if you're alright with a lower proc rate. If you're not, Sol would help your MU stay alive better, while LunaAstra, or Rend Heaven would be great for dishing out more punishment. Vengeance is a bit of a risky proposition, especially if you're only using a 1-range weapon. Complementing it with Vantage would help a bit, but...
As for Lethality, well, you can use it, but it's the least-reliable proc skill in terms of activation rate, and if you're already geared towards dealing heavy damage, you probably won't need it to take out enemies. You'd be better off with a proc skill with a more frequent activation rate that simply bolsters your damage output; you're not likely to need a whole ton of boosting, anyway.
    • Profiteer and Spendthrift make a good combo for damage-dealing, and would take advantage of your MU's high Luck stat, but it is a bit dicey and unreliable for something you'd be dedicating two skill slots to.

Thank you I see if I like it and thank you for the skill set suggestion I see if it is good

  5. So am thinking of changing my corrin class for his final class and am wondering what is his best skill Set for my corrin and his information.

    this is for online

can't Change into apthocary or Oni savage

i like to deal Str damage

and that is it so please help me

I would recommend Vantage, Vengeance, Heartseeker, Astra, and depending on the number of magic units in your army either malefic aura or bowbreaker.

Ok I take that but what if I use him online same? Or different ?

  7. 21 hours ago, joshcja said:

In game his inherent skill set is absolutely perfect though with the listed stats it's also complete overkill on any difficulty.

Postgame you use 7 units total and none of them are named Odin.

Alright but I want like a Skill set so like maybe like  Tome Breaker Bow Breaker Vengeance galeforce and Vantage

  8. 11 hours ago, joshcja said:

There is very rarely a reason to stray from bowpony/Srank/stave class.

In this case the Srank of choice is tomes and male so... sorc.

all right Sorcerer it is also what skill set is good for him?

  9. So am just about to finish getting skills for Odin so which class should it be Sorcerer? or Dark Knight?

If I change to Sorcerer I would get the stats

    Str 25

    Mag 37

    Ski 37

    Spd 36

    Lck 35 Max

    Def 30

    Res 23

If Dark Knight I would get the stats

    Str 33

    Mag 34 Max

    Ski 39

    Spd 35

    Lck 40 Max

    Def 33

    Res 21

and also which Skill set also his some info

Odin married Elise (got all skills)

Niles is Odin A+ Partner (Got all Skills)

    Got all DLC

  10. Hinata is the Retainer of Takumi. Hinata I see him as an Energetic  Swordsman with a Bright Personality. He those have flaws but I can't describe it

    Personal Skill

    Triple Threat

This skill is super Effective and I love this skill this skill mix with Counter magic and Miracle can make Hinata a Deadly Unit. The only Flaw is that it doesn't counter Magic Bows and Daggers

    Growth Rates

    Samurai

    HP 65% Str 45% Mag 0% Ski 40% Spd 35% Lck 60% Def 45% Res 25%

As a Samurai Hinata is a Defensive and Powerful tank but His res are awful and I can see why but his Luck is fabulous making him have a chance of activating Skills like Miracle but his Low Spd is a throwback since it loses to all stats besides Mag and res and mag doesn't matter to him. Having Less spd makes him easy to hit and it makes Ninjas easier to weaken Hinata his skill is decent.

    Sword Master

    HP 65% Str 45% Mag 5% Ski 40% Spd 35% Lck 60% Def 45% Res 25%

Nothing to say look at Samurai

    Master of Arms

    HP 70%  Str 50%  Mag 0% ski 35% Spd 25% Lck 55% Def 55% Res 15%

Now this Promotion set is better then sword master to be honest since of his high HP Str lck and def growth rate is good his res is much worse and his spd and his ski but this is a better promotion since it improves many of his growth rates.

    Overall

    I give HInata a 4 out 5 stars

his stats are good for Master of arms and not that good in sword master and I like his personality but he is weak as a swordmaster so that is it thank you for reading

Paladin. More Mov, more Res, faster, especially if you kept her as a Dark Falcon, her Res is over the top and you probably got Galeforce. She's a monster as an Anti-mage. She has a nine-tiles range, she can ORKO them and you can let her there for Dual Strikes, and then use her again. If you can, she loves Dread Fighter as well. She won't survive physical hits anyway as a GK, she's too squishy.

Your stats seem abnormally high though.

Sorry someone from another social media told me to choose Great Knight so I chose it sorry for wasting your time and yes I grind her a lot

  12. Am deciding between Paladin and Great Knight and this is for her final class.                                                                                                                                                                                      It is a hard decision and I need help and right now she is a Dark Falcon with the stats  HP 36   Str 35 max mag 10  Skill 25 Spd 39  Lck 28 Def  27 Res 40 If I change her to a Paladin she will have the stats of HP 38  Str 39 Max  Mag 4  Skill 27 Spd 37 Lck 28 Def 31 Res 37 If I change her to a Great Knight she will have the stats of  Str 41 Mag 3 Skill 26 Spd 35 Max Lck 27 Def 34  Res 33.  So please help also am up to deciding for her final class so remember that :):
