  1. Yes, it makes sense tactics wise, but doesn't change the fact that your first intro to Robin is casting magic, not wielding a sword. So most people will associate him with magic more than swords. And that doesn't address the clothing design issue. Robin's default outfit is a long hooded coat with open sleeves, reminiscent of a mage's robes. It's fairly similar in style to Soren's robes in FE9, and Mark's robes in FE7, both of which supported from the backline. Robin's character design is more mage than melee. Honestly, it feels like they intended Robin to be a mage initially, and then gave equal offensive growths and weapons for both magic and physical so that you could level in Tactician/Grandmaster without severely hindering whatever class you ended in.
  2. Robin's always been more associated with magic though. The opening cut scene of Awakening has them using magic only, no sword. You don't even know you have a sword until the tutorial starts and you can check your inventory. Their clothing also resembles mage robes more than it does any sort of physical gear, especially with those long open sleeves. Edit: Even stabbing Chrom in the prologue was done with magic, not the sword from your inventory.
  3. Caeda or the White Wings are the main candidates for flying swords IS seems to focus wyverns on axes, and pegasi from Awakening/Fates use lances, so if KT wanted flying swords (and to stick to what someone could use in their own game), SD pegasi are the best bet, since they got swords on promotion to Falcoknight. So that's something that SD pegasi units have for uniqueness over Fates/Awakening. Caeda had the Wing Spear, but she was also a sword unit in FEH, so who knows?
  4. I don't have the source on hand, but there was an interview a while back with Rena Strober where she mentioned she was excited to voice Azura again for FEH and a few other things she couldn't talk about yet. That's what's being referred to as 'suspicious'.
  5. He doesn't have magic access without DLC. Ogma can reclass to Hero, Dark Mage, Pirate, Sorceror, Knight, General, Hunter, Horseman, Fighter and Warrior. Even if you include Dread Fighter in Donnel's class set, he doesn't get the staves Ogma gets from Sorceror. Therefore Ogma is a better weapon master than Donnel.
  6. Class swapping probably will give some weapon parity, but you're projecting too far. Lissa is likely to have War Cleric, but I think it's more likely to be her base class than a swap. Staff only classes are unlikely (though not impossible), especially if they are 'following the FE formula', since staves only very rarely are able to attack. So far the only confirmation of staves we've had is that Lianna can equip them, and that's certainly not her weapon. Additionally, War Cleric also matches Lissa's Cleric costume/sprite better than Sage would, so it's more familiar to people, making it more likely as her base class (assuming staff only classes don't exist). Panic about this after we know more of the roster. Don't think too hard into it now. Axe Fighter is unlikely to be skipped anyways as it's the only link to the Berserker class. If they do 'skip' it, it will likely be to add Berserkers directly. (Also, Mozu has Archer, Donnel doesn't. So Donnel doesn't do everything Mozu does.)
  7. The actual plot synopsis on the website doesn't mention Darius at all. We only know he was visiting Aytolis at the time of the attack and was asked to evacuate the twins by Yuana from the Famitsu article. Darius is at this point a mix of Lyon (best friend of the protagonists, prince from a neighboring kingdom), Seth (assists the protagonists with escaping the invasion) and Ephraim(taught the protagonists). There isn't enough information to say that Gristonne is responsible for the attacks at this time. Not every neighboring kingdom in Fire Emblem ends up at war with the protagonist's kingdom, and Gristonne could very well end up being more like Frelia than Grado. Claiming it's a demo map doesn't help your case at all, either. All armies in the HW could end up either enemies or allies, so they could have just chosen to use Gristonne and Aytolis since they were already more or less known, to avoid giving any additional spoilers about the crazy dragon apparently responsible for the monsters. Edit: Also, Darius is wearing blue and brown. Blue is one of the ally colors in Fire Emblem, so obviously Darius is trustworthy. This is a joke, don't take it seriously.
  8. It doesn't actually mean Darius is a traitor (yet). It could be a Coliseum map (HW adventure maps had some weird choices for allied and enemy armies sometimes), a training exercise, or betrayal. All of the dialog seemed to be generic, also, with no actual event dialog, which seems like it points towards a Coliseum map. So there's not actually much we can determine about overall story (including whether or not Darius is a traitor).
  9. I don't actually believe that they won't, and I said it was a pessimistic thought. At the very least, any character that appears in the game and has any amiibo should have the functionality, assuming that functionality is character specific and not series specific. The technical separation does exist though, and can be used to rationalize exclusion. The thought is also caution against assuming that every FE character with an amiibo will be included in game. They aren't obligated to do so, and the functionality might not be character specific, just that you get something different for scanning an amiibo of a FE character than you do for scanning an amiibo of a Kirby or Mario character.
  10. Pessimistic thought, they said all FE amiibo are compatible with FEW. Technically, the only FE amiibo we have currently are Alm and Celica, with Y!Tiki and Chrom on the way. Ike, Roy, Robin, Lucina, Marth, and both Corrin amiibos are Smash amiibos. I don't actually expect them to exclude these amiibos, but technicalities can be rationalized... I think the most likely is HW-ish weapon drops, tailored to the class of the character used. Other possibilities include in battle scan stuff like summoned allies, armies or morale boosts, EXP/Weapon skill to the appropriate character for scanning them, some sort of special game mode that involves amiibo scans for bonuses, or unlocking characters (which is probably unlikely, but the Spinner is still amiibo only for HW on Wii U AFAIK).
  11. Let's be honest, the moment the developers decided to limit the cast is when they 'snubbed' part of the fanbase. No matter what restrictions they decided on, some part of the fanbase was going to be butthurt that X character didn't get in (see Smash). The only real difference is that people would have been hopeful up until release, then get disappointed. Would a game focusing strictly on the 'popular characters' appeal to more fans? Probably. Would that roster be balanced enough to allow the weapon triangle to be a major factor for gameplay? No, because generally speaking the more popular characters tend to be swordsmen or mages (which is natural given FE's general weapon bias). They (probably) made a gameplay decision first (balance out the weapon triangle) and then chose the focus they thought would appeal the most. I personally think SD, Awakening and Blazing Sword would have been overall better, but obviously the developers didn't agree.
  12. Apparently the JP release date for Warriors is 9/28. Don't think there's any news for the western release yet, other than Fall 2017. Source: https://topics.nintendo.co.jp/c/article/82b69d40-4b67-11e7-8f53-063b7ac45a6d.html
  13. Looking it up, it seems like that's the case. Of course, given the gag nature of the comic, it's questionable how much it's actually considered canon. But since I didn't know about the comic, you can probably disregard everything I said (unless they retcon it).
  14. Relative to the other timelines, we don't know that many specific details about Lucina's future. We know, for example, that some of the gemstones were lost, that Lissa calmed down and acted more like Emmeryn before Lissa was killed, that Cordelia and Severa had a fight immediately before the battle that killed Cordelia, that Cynthia became a tomboy because her mother died, and that Ylisstol fell to the risen sometime before the time travel happened. All of these are relatively minor things, and are usually character based. We don't know how large the army was before the kids escaped, how many battles were fought, how much time passed between the fall of Ylisstol and when the time travel happened, or how the resistance army was organized. It is entirely possible, given the apparent futility of fighting against the Risen, that Lucina might feel her own leadership is lacking, and to pretend to be the Hero King summoned forth to aid the cause as a way to bolster morale. In that case, it's basically the same as Owain's chuuni playacting. In this scenario, there would likely be some people who knew who 'Marth' actually was (Gerome would know, for example, since that's his mask), but they wouldn't say anything about it, especially if it was working. If the army was actually large enough, there would likely be people that know the female Ylissean Exalt is part of the command, but who wouldn't actually recognize her on sight, and wouldn't associate the male 'Marth' with a female Exalt. Granted, this is all obviously guesswork, since we don't actually know what happened in Lucina's future. It seems plausible though (at least to me). Edit: Of course, Heroes could answer this, but we won't know that until we know the hero quotes.
  15. She might have done it before actually traveling back in time to bolster her armies morale against the Risen. We know that the disguise was already in place when she chased the risen through the time tunnel. We know relatively little about the future she and the other kids came from, except for the differences between it and Future Past (such as the fact that in Lucina's timeline, some of the gems were already destroyed), so we can't really say for certain that the disguise was only to conceal her identity in the present. The Palutena's Guidance for Lucina in Sm4sh supports her also using the disguise to bolster her army's morale (though whether that can be considered canon is extremely questionable). Edit: Ignoring possible use of the disguise as Einherjar Marth in the future, changing her identity could have been a way to change her mindset. 'Lucina' failed her people and had to run away, 'Marth' might have the strength to change the future. So it might have been to also overcome some trauma.
  16. Lucina's reasons for being 'Marth' were explained in the Lucina/Tiki support. She used his name and visage as an attempt to emulate him and bolster her confidence in herself. For FEH, keeping the name as Marth just means she was taken from the time she was calling herself Marth, so they're largely just being consistent with her character at the time. She'll likely 'reveal' her identity in her 40 confession like the Awakening trio does.
