  1. Azura's most important to Revelation, while most of the moments shown in the trailer match up more with Birthright and Conquest, where she doesn't do much. There have been no hints of Valla so far, but I think Valla's too big of a plot-line in Fates for them to simply ignore it. Azura's extremely unlikely to be left out Also, her English VA mentioned in an interview that she'd done new work as Azura in addition to Heroes. Most likely that was referring to FEW.
  2. No it doesn't. Cordelia isn't somehow magically not in the game because she didn't show up in the Awakening story trailer is she?
  3. She's moving the whole time during her musou (it's the attack where she juggles the enemy with an axe copter). Her Awakening finish is what has her charging a spell for 5 seconds without otherwise moving. I noticed is that Awakening mode only needed the bar half full to enter it, unlike Focus Spirit in HW. It also generates by hitting things, like the special meter, assuming these things aren't specific to Camilla.
  4. Hinoka looks to have the same normal string that we saw in Cordelia's trailer. I think for Charge attacks I only saw C5 and C6? C6 was the triangle of light that got used the most, C5 was used on Corrin near the end I think. I guess Hinoka's probably Light element (judging from the C6). Hinoka-copter seems to be her musou, which is completely different from either of Cordelia's specials that we saw. Camilla's wyvern attacks in some of her normals (expected given that pegasi stomp as part of their normal string), in addition to her using her axe and fire magic (which means she should be Fire element). We saw that Awakening mode ends with an attack as well, exactly like Focus Spirit from HW. Wasn't paying enough attention to guess which attacks are her charge attacks though. Takumi's Wind element (I think? I don't know what wind element does, since HW didn't have it) which makes sense given the Fujin Yumi. He's a lot more acrobatic than Snipers were in Fates too, kind of reminds me of Linkle's crossbow moveset. His musou was the Fates Sniper crit animation, which was a nice touch. Also, he one shot an enemy pegasus that was at 20% health (not that we needed confirmation on bow superiority over fliers). If you watch closely, I think we can see one of Leo's moves right as Camilla gets switched to (the four balls of fire, right before he gets creamed by a dual strike). So I'd guess that Leo's another Fire element (which makes sense given his original crit quotes).
  5. As mentioned by others, Elise's role is not taken by Leo. She's a troubadour, he's a dark knight with a PRF. Elise can supplement her magic with staves like Lissa uses both her staff and an axe. 'Magic shooting pony rider' is not a class, and even if it were, Hinoka and Lucina prove that we can have multiple characters in similar classes. And Lissa's more of a bratty little sister, not a cute little sister, because she's too fond of pranks and teasing. Different archetype than Elise. Sakura falls under shy little sister.
  6. Trailer was pretty much what was expected, the most notable thing being the confirmation of Hinoka as playable. I'd be surprised if Elise isn't playable, despite her absence here. She's the most notable troubadour rep, the first Fates character with a released figure (Camilla's figure and F!Corrin's Figma were announced at the same time as Elise's Nendo, but aren't released yet), the second most popular Fates female in the Nintendo Dream Fates poll and the 4th most popular Fates female in the official poll. By extension, I expect Sakura to be playable as well, since she's a counterpart for Elise. Out of the rest of the Fates characters, I think the Awakening trio has the best chance, simply because Lucina is in and the developers have stated that character relationships are important. The Awakening trio is a way to give Lucina more existing relationships. By that token, Selena and Odin are more likely than Laslow, since both of their mothers are confirmed, and neither of them can be fathered by Chrom. I half expect us to get at least one retainer for each royal, given the character relationships comment, with Selena and Odin filling that role for Camilla and Leo.
  7. At the start of the game before you start playing, you choose which of the twins is your MC lord. The developers want the tutorial to be the same no matter which character you choose, and they want to introduce the weapon triangle starting with swords. Therefore, both twins use swords.
  8. Armor March 3 should affect the unit it's on and the adjacent armor allies. "If the unit has an adjacent armored ally at start of turn, unit and any such allies can move 1 extra space (that turn only, does not stack)." Unit refers to the user in this case. It's not like Hone/Fortify that just affects adjacent allies.
  9. It's not designed to be practical. It's supposed to resemble a snake tongue, since that the bow is called Nidhogg and is carved to look like two snakes joined at the tail.
  10. I went back and compared Lana's Book of Sorcery trailer with Cordelia's trailer. The longest string we see in Cordelia's trailer lasts about 6s (0:20 to 0:26, give or take), and is either the C6 or full normal string, for about 6 attacks. The longest string we see in Lana's trailer is her C5, which lasts about 8s (0:45 to 0:53, give or take), for about 10 attacks (the cube rolling has a delay to make the cube, but after it's up it attacks faster). However, we know that Lana's 'string' is four normals + one charge, and Cordelia's 'string' appears to be either 5 normals and a charge or 6 normals (it's possible everything after the forward copter is one charge attack, making it her C5, but it seems too distinct from the thrusts after it). If we compare Cordelia's first four attacks of her string to Lana's first four attacks, they are fairly similar in length: Cordelia's fourth attack is the stomp at 0:23 (about 3s after starting), Lana's is the 'gust of magic' at 0:48 (about 3s after starting). Lana might be a slight bit faster, as I'm just estimating from Youtube times, but they appear to be about the same speed. Cordelia does look slower though, which I think is mostly because the model is bigger (due to the pegasus). Youtube video for Lana's trailer used for reference: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=S9Bj_8UkI-0
  11. I was thinking of a tutorial level similar to what DQH starts with actually. I think that does start you with both MCs, but since this uses a deployment and switch system rather than a party switch like DQH, they might have the first tutorial use just your selected MC, and introduce switching on the next map.
  12. Or it's an early map in story mode used for getting used to the combat controls, and you only control the twin you selected as the MC for it. The castle was invaded by monsters, so this could be part of the escape from the castle.
  13. Weren't thieves only useful because they could open chests? Since Marth could also open all chests with the Fire Emblem, I don't think it mattered too much if you didn't have a thief. Thief npcs using keys to open chests seems odd, since thieves don't need keys to open chests in most FE games. I don't think they'll skip over playable thieves entirely, but I wonder if this means Locktouch or an equivalent 'thief' skill doesn't exist in FEW.
  14. Great Knights have 7 move in the main series, Paladins have 8. If they're sticking with that, Frederick should have a lower move speed than Xander.
  15. Isn't the outline part of the lock-on targeting? I don't remember if it was present in the demos.
  16. Armors aren't 'infantry' though. The only playable lance infantry in the games are Donnel, Mozu, Oboro, and Azura, I think.
  17. I thought Fujin Yumi just negated movement penalties for terrain, not ignored it completely. I don't remember it letting Takumi ignore mountains and such, so letting him use flier routes doesn't necessarily make sense, especially if they end up being primarily cliffs and mountain passes. Of course, I don't know how else they could having it's special ability reflected, unless there's something like movement penalties statuses that it could ignore. I'm not sure Takumi really needs the Fujin Yumi to have a special effect though, given that a lightsaber bow is fairly unique on its own.
  18. Julia and Sanaki have standard mage-follow ups. Katarina, Celica, Sonya, B!Caeda, S!Lucina, NS!Leo and NS!Elise all have unique follow ups. Katarina leans forward a little without moving her legs Celica stamps her left foot and chops with her hand Sonya steps back Caeda sways and her casting hand is pointed slightly upward (kinda looks like she just threw something) Lucina goes into her 'ready' pose with her casting arm out in front Leo steps forward, but not the same as the standard mage follow up, as he's still standing upright rather than leaning forward. Elise turns away and her casting hand looks like she's presenting something. It kind of reminds me of the Lucky Star opening animation, because she's tapping her left foot during the cast. I think that's all of them, though admittedly I didn't check all of the mages (just most). I can post pictures of each pose later if you're curious.
  19. Of course if you poll players they'd prefer popularity winning. From a design perspective though, a straight popularity contest is not a 'fair' mode. If it's always overwhelmingly popular units that win and the winner gets additional rewards for winning, eventually fans of the other units are going to be demoralized and start siding with the most popular character instead of their favorite, leading gauntlets to be more and more lopsided. What happens if everyone sides with a single character right at the start? From a player perspective, it would have been better if instead of implementing the multiplier, IS had removed all rewards for winning, so that the only rewards were ranking feathers (similar to how TT works). IS seems to think that it's better to give less popular characters a chance to win if their fans manage to rally at the right time though.
  20. Personally, I don't want major characters from the games outside of SD/Awakening/Fates. They'd either show up randomly in the story as reinforcements with no character arc, or be non-story modes only like F!Robin. If Ike shows up, I'd rather it be in the story and we encounter him around the time Greil dies (similar to when the story is going to encounter the Fates/Awakening characters), rather than him show up to kill the final boss just because he's Ike, or only be an Adventure Mode unlock. The Toon Link amiibo originally counted as a Link amiibo in HW on Wii U until the Legends patch released. They don't need to have every FE amiibo character in the game in order for every FE amiibo to have specific functionality for the game.
  21. Not really. Fans could have found a character they liked better, and besides that, fans of other characters from awakening probably found different characters in Fates to vote for. Being one of the most popular characters in one game's character set isn't a guarantee that the same character will be as popular in a different game's character set, especially if very few characters are shared between games.
  22. The OCs exist, so even if it's mostly, that doesn't mean that any characters from games outside of SD/Fate/Awakening will be available. And calling it Fire Emblem Warriors would be fine even if only one game was represented. It is a warriors game with Fire Emblem characters, just not from every game. That's like saying Persona Q should be called something else because it only has characters from Persona 3 and 4 playable.
  23. CYL couldn't have influenced the roster at all, given that it happened after the roster was finalized. The 2015 Famitsu poll is the closest thing we have to a popularity poll for Marth's games: https://kantopia.wordpress.com/2016/06/09/fire-emblem-famitsu-overall-favorite-character-poll-translated-june-2015/ CYL might give a general idea on what characters might be considered popular from FE11/FE12, but they wouldn't have had those results at the time the roster was finalized (remember IS devs mentioned being surprised that Awakening Tiki placed higher than SD Tiki).
