  1. How about throwing in a little chaos, and completing the game on a higher difficulty could unlock: Randomized recruitment.
  2. Oh, the memories. It's been too long. First game and PC game I ever played was Prehistorik 2. Despite the end of DOS era, I saw that thing running without an emulator lately. First game that got me for a long time was The Lost Vikings. It wasn't just a simple platformer, it was an adventure. First console game I played on was the Super Nintendo in a local console shop. Getting back to emulate Donkey Kong Country 2 once in a while. First Fire Emblem game would be the Blazing Sword. I wasn't looking really hard, and this was the first title that I found. While it was a good game, the interest came from older titles. My first console, I bought it myself - the Playstation 2. I blame Final Fantasy X for that, but there were other interesting RPGs to play on that console. Good times.
  3. Ooooh, nice - 2 nearly perfect level up for Lilina will definitely help. Thankfully very consistent in her Mag growth so far. (that growth in Def was the biggest surprise) These triangle attacks seems to be a cakewalk for you compared to me. Wendy is aiming to be the fastest Armor Knight in history, but some Strength and Defense growth would be also really helpful. Wait, did I just said Wendy and helpful in the same sentence? Oh crap, I did it twice now. I like how the reinforcements and the thieves were handled, those parts can get nasty very quickly on this map. But you managed to pull it off deathless, so that's a huge bonus point.
  4. Wow, the ending was a surprise change for all this, I mean I didn't see him pulling that out of his hat (if he has one). But the whole work of Hanneman in this video is just as questionable as anything else in the Fire Emblem series. (like why he put Nanna between the ones who should just die in their game)
  5. I might be wrong, but haven't everyone been there? I'm still quite there where the game is on hold for me. I came back to try my luck with the binding blade banner after a few months, then I realized why I have problems with the gacha system in my Fire Emblem games.
  6. Bernadetta is cute, but I prefer Ignatz as a unit instead - not just Ward Arrow, but overall his skillset is more useful for me - that extra accuracy helps him to target enemies very well even 4 tiles away, and rally skills are also not something to look over. Break Shot is also helpful to lower enemy defenses, so he's a lot of stuff packed into one for me. Also we discussed pretty much a hundred times at this point that you want to use anyone but Raphael.
  7. Hey, that's the Raphael from my first playthrough. Though he ended being the tank of the squad. To be fair, the only unit I'd recruit from BE is Petra, Lions and Deers have better options.
  8. I've started playing this game before, but didn't played it for too far - I think I reached until chapter 2 or 3, and it's been put to the side for a long time. It was an interesting and unique game though with some Fire Emblem elements, so I want to get back to it. However when I jump into it, I feel like there's 100 things I need to pay attention to. Guides are also very limited for this game, Gamefaqs has almost none, fireemblemwod only has maps up until Chapter 2, the let's plays don't have much records of it either, and most of the information I can gather is from a japanese site. I did finish Thracia 776 this year, so I also know that when it comes to difficulty, Kaga is not joking around. So I think I'm going to check with you guys here who played it through. How difficult is the mid and lategame? Are there any characters who are basically just not worth using? Is there anything I should pay extra attention for? Why do I feel like this is going to be another beast to conquer?
  9. Taking a peek at the savegame. Looking at the body count mainly.
  10. Thracia is full of traps, some of them are nasty ones. This game is not forgiving if you are going in blindly, so I'd suggest to at least check some stuff online before you try to conquer it, otherwise you might find yourself resetting your run. Here's my compilation of advices:
  11. @DragonFlames Looking at her personal skill, i believe it supports that archetype pretty well.
  12. My favourite is pretty much the female swordmasters. Whenever it was Ayra, Mareeta, Fir, Mia or Petra(or Catherine if you want), no matter what other said about them, I always used and made some crazy builds as well (Mareeta had Luna, Sol AND Astra too, while she held her personal sword with Nihil). I can't even look at Karla and Marisa as bench materials. Not sure if there was any examples in Shadow Dragon, I consider Ayra to be the first. A runner-up would be probably the Camus archetype. Not all of them were interesting for me, but Eldigan and Galle are one of my favourite units in the series. Least favourite would be the bandit twins for me as well. It's stupid as it can get, probably funny for some people out there, but personally I find them painful to watch. It's something what I see as a stereotype went horribly wrong, and no matter how many time they reuse it, it won't fix the archetype which was bad from the beginning.
  13. I've played Final Fantasy VIII back then, but I don't think I'd get myself to complete it again. Best strategy was to keep the level of your units low, while you gain a lot of magic spells to boost your stats by junctioning them with the help of your GF (Guardian Force). Problem is, this sort of grinding was boring, and without them the battles were just too long, even the random encounters. It was also very weird that you didn't had the Item command automatically equipped, compared to the job systems from previous FF installments. This was a big setback for items, as it was replaced by the draw command - leaving the other slots usually for Magic and GF. Not to mention you'll miss out on some GF if you don't have the command equipped, as a lot of them can only be drawn from enemies. Maybe you don't use the junctioned magics, but healing spells were still very much useful. Also you couldn't just farm money to buy items, you had a timely income based on your rank which was increased through tests. Also I found myself playing the card game more than the actual game itself: trying to collect all the cards, converting them into items, then using those to get stronger stuff. At this point all I had to do is train my GF to use their abilities to get more variety of items and magic - this was better than drawing all the magic spells from the enemies itself. Difficulty did not scale with GF levels anyway. Of course the low level run was supported by the fact that boss fight gave you 0 EXP - which is an oddity by itself. You also get no exp if you turn your enemies into cards. So to sum up all these block of text: Difficulty raises with level, but exp can be avoided by turning enemies into cards. Bosses give no exp. With more cards you can play the card game to get more from each cards. Meanwhile you can draw magic and GF from your enemies so you can junction them for better stats. Cards can be turned into more variety of items and even into magic. You get no money from fights, it's based only on your rank. Item command becomes irrelevant. It was an interesting system, but a highly flawed one. Always having the Item command and better means to acquire them could've been a starting point. Maybe some more skills or traits for the characters to separate them better, as stats in this format didn't really matter. More interesting boss challenges could've also helped, because there's only a few of them where it was unique: X-ATM092, Diabolos and Adel. The rest was pretty much just a test of your current power. The rewards from the card system was probably too much, once you figure out how to turn them into other goods. I think nowadays it'd work better if stats were increased in junction only by the type of magic you assigned, but not by the amount of it. Also I'd drop the difficulty scaling through your current level - Final Fantasy X wasn't a difficult game, but it became quite challenging if you give yourself a couple of restrictions anyway.
  14. I don't remember reading praises on axes, but it really depends on the game and on who uses them. In Binding Blade they have next to no accuracy, while in Thracia you pretty much need them to advance effectively. Idk, weapons in 3H don't have too much differences for me.
  15. Lot, check this out. This map is swarming with lance users. Nice, axes will have a clear advantage on this map. I'm going with this team. Sorry, I didn't had time to write the whole thing, so I'll switch back to more simplistic post.
  16. I want to like her, but the thing is Dean is better in every way. Starts at higher level, can get a personal lance, higher weapon ranks, more movement star and PCC. Dean also has 7 more Build, making him a pretty good user for lances, however Eda gets slowed down by any existing lance in this game.
  17. For the Lysithea part, I think she's still the best candidate. Outside of Black Eagles units, she's the only one who can learn dark spell, which are pretty damn good in my book. She's basically made out of tinfoil paper, but so is Annette. Her high Mag that reaches 40 easily is something I can't just ignore, as it's used to easily one-shot enemies with her set of spells, but also she can heal a lot with a single Heal spell. Of course I'm still looking at her mainly for her offense, also thanks to her potentially high Spd - I'm sure it can be useful even in Maddening runs, this stat put a bad light on some mages for me. But the best thing about all this is that she learns spells much sooner than others, and because of her crest giving her even more power. She's overpowered, not overrated - that's how I see it.
  18. Thank you, Thank you so much! I love to see Echidna, Lalum and Igrene in the game! I'll probably get back to Heroes, but I'm too busy to pick it up now. Brunnya is kind of a miss, I want Galle instead. Come on IntSys, we're so close to it. Since they didn't put Murdock in here first out of them, and if I look at CYL results, he might be the last from them.
  19. Warp is nice, but she's more famous for Luna, Dark Spikes, Seraphim and her minmaxed statline. Thrysus turns her from okay unit into a very dangerous unit.
  20. Ah, sorry about that. Looks like the emulator on my tablet created the save in a different folder. Replaced the old savefile with the new one, it should work now correctly.
  21. Excuse me, but Dean is not a female name. One moment and I'll add Beruka, my Fates knowledge is lacking for obvious reasons.
  22. @Saint Rubenio @Eltosian Kadath The run is alive guys. But one unit is not unfortunately. I'll update you soon enough, until then here's the savefile. Good luck Ruben, keep Lilina safe. FE6-Succession.sav
  23. Now that I tried to read a little about it, it seems like as an enemy she appears as an Assassin. If anything, I'd believe that more as a canon class, considering that also has her unique outfit instead of the class outift. Dealing with 2 canon classes would be a bit weird and beyond this topic.
