  1. Whoops, give me a second and I'll give them to the list How is that canon? I feel like I missed out on something here.
  2. Such a rare occurrence, but usually a welcome one. I'm sure all of you like at least one of them, but which one is better than the rest of them? Didn't include from Three Houses as the class system is very open to pick any of them for this, Heroes is not canon, and if I'm correct Gaiden didn't had any. Also if you like the idea you can suggest a similar voting category for the future.
  3. In my opinion, a Fire Emblem game doesn't really need an avatar character. I actually enjoyed the games better when they didn't have one. Three Houses is better from them, but it could've worked without an avatar as well.
  4. So I haven't played Heroes for about 3 months now, I think it's nice to get a break from the gacha system once in a while. If the contents are promising, I might pick the game up again next year. Btw, what did I miss besides of orb farming?
  5. Well, staves are broken op in Thracia. Asvel is indeed powerful, but I think a lot of mages are also powerful. Olwen/Ilios is a pick your mounted mage, I prefer Olwen for her brave effect. Linoan will cap her stats before you know it, and her Nosferatu tome is a safe bet(not to mention she starts with C staves). Ced is an overpowered Asvel from the beginning with a tome even more powerful than Grafcalibur. But I think in general only Miranda has a bad reputation from Thracia mages.
  6. Ok, I'll try to complete Ch5 and 6 instead, and promise to send the savegame as soon as possible. To post in this topic, I might only be able to do that next week. Not to mention I feel more confident with 5 and 6 than 7 and 8.
  7. On the flip side I think mage boys are more overrated. Like the whole early young mage thing is something that works pretty well, but could become insignificant in the late game. For a few example, first there's Erk, who you don't need a whole lot, and later you'll get a much better mage, that is Pent. Asvel is amazing, but later there's a lot of competition - take away the Grafcalibur and he's pretty shaky. Lugh is solid in FE6, but he can get screwed in Mag stat - sure Lilina joins later, but her average Mag stat carries a terrifying power. These are the ones coming from the top of my head, I'm really not feeling their charm. Also I think all cavalries are getting more praise than they should. I know Canto is great and they have high movement, but I found only a couple of them interesting. Also I didn't do LTC runs.
  8. @Saint Rubenio Sorry, I had some issue out of my hand, and couldn't post an answer to your question. I assume you already carried on the savegame, so let's pretend that I skipped this round. @Eltosian Kadath Thanks for the assistance, please ping me once it's my turn again.
  9. Guys, I have a technical issue - the save did load, but my stats were below base stats. I guess the issue is that my rom is an old translation called Sword of Seals. Like Lugh had 2 Mag and the highest Marcus stat was Luck with 10. If someone can send me a ROM that was used for this succession run, I can promise an update this week, otherwise I'd pass the torch. EDIT: also I'm very sorry about the delay, it was a rough week.
  10. The game is quite challenging on Normal mode for the first time, but I still think it's fair. The game gives you enough tools to deal with, but it also gives you a few times where you can shoot yourself in the foot, but overall it's not terrible. You either like it or hate it, I personally love it. Only game that had a more difficult Normal mode was Thracia, but the difficulty on that one, that's another story.
  11. Got the savefile, but I'm going to be somewhat busy, so give me a few days to update. How much time do I have to complete 5 and 6?
  12. Hmm, I wasn't thinking about that at first sight, but that does make sense. I guess that means we might see Master Lance or Master Axe in the future as well. But Leif with a bow still feels off to me, I guess that's what Awakening fans felt before.
  13. 1. Leif knows nothing about bows, he only uses Sword in Thracia. 2. What is a Meisterbogen? It's not from Judgral, that's for sure.
  14. Now we're cooking. Actually I made a test run on this map without looking up any maps or enemy list, and the team did well, but around turn 5 the whole defense fell apart. But I think it's possible to survive this. I'll consider it, but I know a lot of people find this map the hardest.
  15. Fire Emblem can improve on Three Houses. What it did right? The game was fun, lots of ways to build your units, the characters were interesting and had personalities. The monastery was a good place to spend hours in, maybe a bit too repetitive in the long run. Skills were probably one of the best things to work with, I hope they'll keep them. Loved the music as well, except for one that obviously doesn't belong into this game. They also found a way to fix archers, which is a great thing from 3H in my opinion. On the other side, I wish our choices matter somewhat more... We had to pick between the 3 lords, but the routes were too much identical, unless you know how to avoid church route - which you might missed, unless you were not bored by the monastery already. Your combat decisions also didn't matter on Normal/Hard, as you had too many divine pulses to fix any mistakes that you made, which turns Classic into Casual 2.0. Classes should also matter more, and it shouldn't be enough to have just 3 out of the master classes for all your students. It also didn't help the class system that you had to go to Chapter 5 in spiral with mostly 4 move trainee units. Then we have the magic system. It was an interesting touch that you can reuse your magic on each chapter instead of burning through a tome with limited usage. However I didn't like how some spells were locked to some units. They were also very limited, as it came to offensive, healing, warping and silencing spells. (also Ward, but when did you need that one?) Where's Torch, Unlock, Sleep or Rewarp? Also the system kind of killed the chance to get Hammerne. Dark Magic was fun, but only on 3 units, 2 locked on a single route. Dark Seal was a hard to get item, but wasn't even a rewarding one. Finally I think the story can be improved on. At some point it felt really rushed, other times it made little sense, often missed the buildup to things.
  16. @Mukmuk I guess that's one way to look at it. That low Def and high Mag is a trademark of her, and like other ranged units you don't want them to stay in the range of melee enemies - unless you think you can bait some mages, 17 Res is not too shabby. Seems to be an issue if you don't know what you are doing, or you are rushing too much. On the bottom line you can't really compare Clarine and Lilina. Clarine can dodge very nicely, and she can use staves on a horse - the blessing of the troubadours. But she won't be killing enemies with her low Mag, even if she doubles them - most likely gets stuck with E rank Fire tomes and hardly get out of it. I did A support her with Rutger to make sure they both dodge everything the game throws at me. And Lilina while do her magic, I must protecc. Guess that makes clear why people prefer Lugh. While the endurance is only slightly better, he can get dodgy as well.
  17. Guys, if you have any sabotage, I still haven't given up yet. Just checking, because it's been 3 days now.
  18. They'd stuck in C support in Heroes. Where can I find a good ramen recipe for home cooking while being a beginner with soups?
  19. That's an interesting one. Btw, I continued playing after I read this. Tana died. A ballista one-shotted her, my mortal enemies. On turn 8 from the 10 turn defense, she was just in range of the ballista, 10 tiles away - I didn't check the range of the bottom ship, because I was fighting with the cavalries on the top part of the map. At least she was able to recruit Cormag for me before, so it's not the end of the world, but for the first time I had a bad feeling about this run. Not because of the setbacks, but because of my plays. Ch.6: Gilliam died, samthedigital said: bench Seth permanently Ch.7: Lute died, Azure, Roundabouted Out said: Amelia must go for the General promotion Ch.9: Forde died, De Geso said: Ephraim not allowed to promote at all. Ch.10: Tana died, waiting for sabotage.
  20. Good news, Forde died in Chapter 9, Ephraim route. Chapter was going pretty well, until the reinforcements hit me hard. There were way more ranged attack that targeted him in the turning point of the corridor, and the number of the enemies were overwhelming for a short while. Also I ran out of bows and magic tomes at the end of the chapter. Got Amelia, she's a Lv.2 recruit yet, because I found little spot to train her. Neimi, Franz and Kyle are ready to promote, but I might hold on for a while. I didn't go to the Tower of Valni, I was thinking to only go there once; when more floors are unlocked, but not sure yet. Not interested about random map encounters. Also I just realized I screwed up the chapter numbers. Anyway, it's your turn again guys. 21. Trueblade would be the one I want. Gives me the opportunity to make a better alternative for my Swordmasters, since Mortal Savants are bad at speed.
  22. Just to let you know, I'm always ready to defend Lilina, she's a good unit in my book. Investing in a unit is not new to me, as I do like training them up and seeing all those level up screens. So I wonder what do you mean by not enough output from her.
  23. Sounds interesting. I like Binding Blade, so this playstyle will be a different take for me. Where do I sign?
  24. Banned for trying to start a Google Image War
  25. Sorry, but I'm going to skip on your suggestion again. I didn't exactly understand what you try here, and did you mean this as a 1-chapter thing or something else? Also you came up with 2 ideas and I need to decide which one would be the viable choice. Come back at me with more confidence, or I'll slip away. Oh, I see what you did there. But you know what, I'll take it. Getting a slow unit means I need to be a bit of a turtle, which is sometimes the safe route. Unless something goes horribly wrong. You're on.
