  1. Maybe he realized that no one could take a villain with the name Blume seriously. But then again, I suppose it's not much worse than Schwarze Rosen.
  2. Yeah, they do that. I usually just bite the bullet and let Ares take it, knowing that with the Thief Ring he will never be wanting for money ever again. Jackson is really rocking that Lachesis color palette. It's not. And there is also a chance that it will cause Celice to permanently get greyed out, with the only cure being a refresh. So don't press that button. He did list Leaf as an example, but yeah. All according to the translation on the site anyway. https://serenesforest.net/general/designers-notes/holy-war/playing-guide/ Q: Is there any special meaning behind Celice’s ability to dismount? A: The reason for that is a simple one that I’m a little embarrassed about, which is for “aesthetic purposes”. At the beginning, we guessed there would be many female fans who see Leaf, for example, and think “he looks so handsome in battle, I don’t want to promote him!”. Originally, we wanted every mounted character to have the option of dismounting like in Mystery of the Emblem. However, because of space issues we had to give this idea up, so in the end only Celice’s dismounting option was kept. Fire Emblem was historically more popular with female players than with male players in Japan. Given the commercials of that era, I suppose this might not be too surprising. I would say these days they seem to be more aiming for the horny 12 year old boy with a God complex. But I mean, I was a horny 12 year old boy when I played FE7, and I still found it embarrassing how the game was constantly worshipping the player. If FE8 and FE9 didn't drop that nonsense super hard, I would have never become a fan. So it never felt quite right to me to give 12 year olds that little credit.
  3. Since it just came out on consoles, I imagine everyone is busy playing Freedom Planet 2 currently. I just cleared my 4th run. Don't have any save on 100% completion yet, so I suppose this will be the next thing to do.
  4. Although if the growths were inverted, Faval would have even more useless magic while Patty would have less. Since Azel only has a 10% magic growth while Briggid has 20%.
  5. Tinny has ones for both chapters. Also with Ishtar here, not that Tinny is likely to survive that. Although maybe Linda can one-shot Ishtar with a Thoron Wrath crit.
  6. The chapter title. Did you even really know her? Did Cuan invite you to their wedding or something? Admittedly said advantage mostly amounts to a useless luck stat and an even more useless magic stat. No magic bows in this game sadly. This is not Vestaria Saga. Technically Berwick Saga already had magical bows (and magical arrows). But magical weapons in Berwick Saga ignore the user's magic stat. So it would still be useless.
  7. Order of the Stick update. https://www.giantitp.com/comics/oots1301.html Poor Calder. This is just a weird encounter to find yourself in.
  8. I would say that's unlikely, considering that the old translation was also talking about decapitations. Keep in mind, the village right there also gives you the Thief Ring.
  9. When the issue is famine, it's hard not to wonder how much feeding a dragon needs compared to an ordinary horse. Sure, they are fictional creatures, but the general understanding of animals is that the bigger they are, the more food they need to sustain themselves. I do wonder if Southern Thracia has wild dragons too or if they are all domesticated. Because it's hard to imagine they could survive down here when food is so scarce. Of course narratively speaking it's convenient that the Thracian mercenaries have dragons, so that they can easily appear wherever the plot needs them to be. Plus, it's also just another take on the sibling dragon knights concept from FE1. Then uses the kid as a bomb, which seems like a waste of effort if you ask me. Of course, if anything looks at least mere conceptually like an idea with some promise in modern Fire Emblem, it's always already been done better either pre-Elibe or in the Saga series. No matter how badly it was done to begin with, they will rise to the challenge and somehow find a way to do it much worse. I do appreciate how after his first defeat, he doesn't come back any stronger and instead is now a mere shadow of his former self. Also puts the power of the divine weapons into perspective.
  10. The fated day has finally come. Freedom Planet 2, the sequel to the hypest video game ever made is finally on the Switch. Over here, anyway. Seems like it's timezone based. Once the clock strikes midnight, it should be hype o'clock. Admittedly it's not quite as hype as the first one, but I suppose that would have been impossible. After all, in Freedom Planet 1 every single level was designed to feel like the final stage compared to what came before it. So you have this ridiculous hype slope that keeps reaching new highs all the way until the end credits. Freedom Planet 2 is simply not structured like this. The sheer number of levels alone would probably have made that impossible. Instead levels are grouped into smaller arcs. It's more standard in that regard, I suppose.
  11. Sure, she can. She still gets the same 5 points when adjacent to a male character as everyone else. It just takes really long, starting all the way at 0 and no additional way to boost them.
  12. Truly the 2nd coming of the iconic trio. I just mean that it we really need to have this cringe scenario, it would be a nice change of pace if the damsel gets to face it with her head held high. The constant improvements of the advisor is really nice. I mean, we went from Malledus to Jagen to Levin to August until we finally arrived at nirvana with Eugen. If you actually commit to the incest, I can at least respect it.
  13. That's why you immediately change classes after hitting level 20. Just don't do anything stupid, like attacking melee units at 1 range. Considering this scene starts with Leen being all "Yeah, I suppose this is about what I'd expect from you", it feels awkward for her to lose her composure so quickly. You were there when Bramsel had his guards assault Leen. Jabarro probably doesn't know anything that you yourself aren't already aware of. Or do you think Bramsel and Jabarro had a personal chat about his revenge phantasies? A very appropriate low level, which is always nice to see. Well, he has a higher level than Harold at least. So he is only the 2nd weakest boss in this generation.
  14. Considering that FE3 didn't have the ability to skip dialog yet, I wonder if maybe the dialog in this game is so brief because the devs themselves were not sure if this was a feature that they would be able to implement. Not to mention what the exact limits of saving would be. I mean, if this was like FE3 and you couldn't skip dialog and maybe couldn't even save between castles... novel-length dialog in the style of Tear Ring Saga might have been not exactly ideal if you end up having to reload once or twice. Mid-chapter dialog was also pretty much a non-factor in FE3. But it's most certainly a thing here.
  15. Adel looks a bit too much like Wang Fire for my taste, though.
  16. He would be at least 18, what with having been born by the time of chapter 3 and the 17 year time skip.
  17. Interesting how standard shields seem to have a whooping 20 durability. I mean, TRS shields were only 4 or less. Berwick Saga shields were not much better, and most would break after the 6th hit. This also puts them at a durability where they are a good fit for Tallan's new and improved repair skills.
  18. Assuming Lene would be just as much of a tool as her mother is not being charitable with gen 2.
  19. Somehow I get the feeling that I am not missing out by not playing Engage. Frankly, even as a kid I found Lyn's obsession with the self-insert to be just painful to endure. And now that mr. Watanabe Generico is literally a deity, IS doesn't even need to pretend that everyone is worshipping him because of actual merit. It's not. Huh, I suppose he could use Continue. Maybe they figured the chance of that happening is neglectable, given the tome's massive weight. Unless they actually did code something in to prevent Continue from triggering for those weapons. Uh, no it isn't. Lene's and Leylea share the same dialog, barring their exclusive scenes.
  20. Freedom Planet 2... Vestaria Saga I+... So close, yet so far. Jamulan got some buffs. Multichance (?) and Axe Guard are whatever, but it seems he now also gets a skill that makes all his attacks against armored enemies deal effective damage. Nice to see that it looks like the K-man managed to implement even more genuinely interesting skills. The remaining skill also seems to be new. Wish I could read the descriptive text. Also chapter 19 now has both battle preps and the ability to take items from Zade's side. Interesting to see even Eddard listed here.
  21. It doesn't mess up anything. You are not expected to hold Lenster, with Nanna suggesting you should retreat to the nearby church instead. And Leaf already has Celice as a Talk listed.
  22. Btw, did you notice that it plays the FE1 player phase theme if you wait in the arena lobby for like 30 seconds? And the arena battle theme theme is also the version from FE1. It lacks the additional instruments that the FE3 version overlaid. It's nice that they used the FE1 versions instead of the FE3 ones. In particular I find the FE1 version of the player phase theme to be much more pleasant. I suppose he does have that Deen hair.
  23. I wonder if this will become a trend. The thing with the Sleep Sword is that it actually works in the arena. Sure, it would be too expensive to chip down armors with it, but the status actually remains even after you cancel the battle. Which means that after inflicting sleep, you can simply cancel the battle and continue the fight with a different weapon. Technically you could have done this the entire time. A battle is only truly reset once you either lose or leave the arena. Until then the enemy fighters won't recover the health they lost. But there was no real way to take advantage of that until now. I'm afraid the deflector shields will be quite operational when your Fee arrives. Besides, you want your sole flier to help out in the desert. You are on the clock there. No Return Ring. Guess we are not crossing the plot walls this time. Unless the game decided to place it into the storage, which would be some bad luck. Don't remember if Lenster allows you to access the storage. Actually Pavise won't trigger against Nosferatu ever. No clue why, it just doesn't.
