  1. That makes sense though if his death quote mention that he doesn't die, but rather retreat. And nothing prevents him to lurk around if he wasn't recruited. Maybe it was just executed poorly... The problem is, I don't remember if his death quote makes that clear or not.
  2. The ending is the same regardless, but the events during the chapter change drastically depending on whether you're found out or not. Missing out on characters would be fun as hell (for me), but I decided not to make that an option. shots fired
  3. Interesting. Perhaps there's a monster there? What happens if you deploy 1 less character and leave that tile free?
  4. Currently over 3500, I'll post the exact number when I'm finished. Meanwhile... ...Is this happening for real!?
  5. I'm sure your guide will help many people approach the hacking scene, so thank you for that. However, it is based on a limited version of the Event Assembler, so that has to be taken into account as well when talking about the possibilities offered by FE7 and FE8. World Map hacking is still hard, and so is coping with the pre-existing hard codes of FE8 (especially those for the route-split, Tower, Ruins, etc.)
  6. There are 3 key factors for a successful hack in my opinion: passion, knowledge, and time. Best of luck with your project! If you have any questions, feel free to ask. The situation is far better than 4 years ago when I started working on Midnight Sun, but FE8 is still harder to hack than FE7 for many reasons.
  7. Chapter 9B is almost complete. I just had to polish some dialogues and gameplay. This is the most complex chapter I've ever designed. It features more than 3000 lines of code, and it's full of conditionals! Some questions you might have come up with: - What if X character is dead? Will you still find him/her in the cells? - Will you be asked to hide a character who's dead? - Does the chapter end when you're found out? Is this like ch.5? - Can you finish the chapter while leaving someone inside their cells? - Do you necessarily have to hide instead of engaging the enemies and kill them all? - Will killing an enemy who is sleeping cause me to be found out? The answer to all of these is NO. And they're just some examples.
  8. Actually, I really like this. Lalita is looking nice, too.
  9. It's good, I like it. I just think the outlines of the blurred parts are a bit too dark. I don't even think that blurred parts are supposed to have outlines tbh (especially the sword ones)
  10. You could upload it to dropbox/mediafire/any other file hosting site and PM it to me. :) Thank you very much, by the way.
  11. But isn't that statement itself a pointless scaremongering tinged with an incredibly obvious desire to appear intellectual and superior? Those are some really nice stats! Yes, send me the savefile, thanks. ;) It'll come in handy for testing Fa's route.
  12. That's a shame, TheNiddo. But thank you anyway for volunteering! Anyway, to export a savefile in GBAGE, just do "File -> Export -> Battery file".
  13. lol, I'd delete every trace of MS myself if they did an FE15: Midnight Sun hahahah. Back to business, could you guys please send me your saves? I really need them to balance out the difficulty. Oh, only if you've beaten the Tower of Trials and the skirmish battle.
  14. Actually, it was a serious title when I wrote it. I was really concerned about that copyright claim I received. But later it was found out that the one who made the claim was a fraud, so it became just funny. lol I'm not going to change it for a while, tbh
  15. Thanks, StWalker. I had already compiled a way more ignorant counter-claim, and I'm currently waiting for an answer (I can't fill another counter-claim until they reply, apparently). Anyway, should they require more legal stuff, I'll paste what you wrote there. It's crystal clear now that this Jason Alley is just an impostor, so... that makes me feel better. lol Bahah, the title is just a clickbait. I'm such a troll The download link has already been replicated, and progress on the fangame will still be made. Don't worry.
  16. Well, I'm salty. That resets my download count. Also, that's a patch, not the ROM. They CAN'T remove that due to copyright, am I right?
  17. ...What? Does that still happen? I can't replicate the issue you're reporting.
  18. Thank you for all the characters data and feedback, guys! I really appreciate it, and helps me balance the game accordingly. I think I've done a better job this time at making Cristoph less useless, Andre less OP (even slightly) and Rya way more reliable. Good thing! As for the Tower of Trials, it's exactly as Ashley said. You're able to access the tower once per chapter, but this limitation is removed in ch.20 / postgame. The Ruins, on the other side, will be very different from what you might think, and will be tied with the story.
  19. Thank you for your feedback, guys. It's funny how Andre always turns out beastly despite my attempts at nerfing him, while Cristoph keeps being benched despite having received severe buffs. I think the RNG isn't really helping here. I got an average Andre and godlike Cristoph in my run (and so did some other people I know), so at least there's hoping that the game is still balanced lol. Thank you for pointing out that Sae'rah's Con cap is wrong, @Glacoe. I didn't notice that. It's not relevant at all in this build, but it might be in v.3.0 when you'll be able to purchase stat-uppers. Luckily, that won't ever happen now. Ah, I'll probably repeat myself, but people giving Cattleya some love will have an amazing unit in v.2.0.
  20. Thank you SO much for all the support! I'll also take note of the critique for future forest-based maps. :) No, as the arrows it shoots count as magic and not physical arrows. However, the Napalm Shot will be effective against Baels, and future bows will have their own effectiveness as well. Even the Lightningrod (or thunder magic in general) will be effective against ballistas and similar machinery. If you want a more practical explanation, the magic arrows don't even have a tip; they have a little bottle containing the magic.
  21. Thank you so much! No, you don't get any reward for that. Ahahah, silly Rya and Cristoph. What about recruiting them?
  22. I think there's nothing wrong with that. The higher you go, the stronger your foes become. It's meritocracy.
