  1. Basically, which of the factions of the Fire Emblem series can demolish, or at least beat modern militaries in a war. Although Fire Emblem factions are shown to be using medieval weaponry, surely magic would help them stand a chance against the technological might of Earth's militaries. The goal isn't necessarily to conquer or destroy modern nations. The only condition that is absolutely necessary is to force the modern nations and their militaries to surrender. Can any of the Fire Emblem factions in all Fire Emblem games do this?
  2. I know many of us have played more than one Fire Emblem (FE) game in the series. So my question is: if your favourite character from every FE game you ever played fought each other, who would win? Rules: A) Only one character per game (e.g. cannot choose both Alm and Celica as they come from the same game. However, Ike [Path of Radiance] and Micaiah [Radiant Dawn] are allowed even though Ike exists in Radiant Dawn) B) The combat conditions/environment/weapon triangle/lore etc is up to you. Let the battles begin!
  3. How many battles have you been in and won with Robin? You can see this on the end credits when it shows Robin's post story card. What is your highest amount? And if Robin isnt your highest, who is? (Hope i posted this in the right area im new :3)
  4. Hi, I'm new to forums so I hope this is in the right spot and stuff. Anyway, I'm just getting into FE8 modding and specifically the Battle Palette modding. I want to change the way a necromancer looks in battle and his sprite and all that. I've checked around google and I couldn't find anything so I figured that I could post a topic somewhere. Can anyone direct me to a Battle Palette Reference Nightmare Module that contains a battle palette for a necromancer? or does that not exist. Thanks :D
  5. I've been trying to make battle/map sprites for some of my favorite characters, so here's what I have so far. Shadow Dragon Battle Sprites: Credit to Bonzai for the sniper sprite used as a base for Jeorge: http://spritedatabase.net/file/3081 and for the sage sprite used for Linde, Tiki, Nagi, and Nyna: http://spritedatabase.net/files/gba/990/Sprite/EnemyFemaleSage.gif as well as the rogue sprite used for Xane: http://spritedatabase.net/files/gba/991/Sprite/Rogue.gif Credit to Grim for the myrmidon sprite used as a base for Athena: http://s58.photobuck...es/Fir.gif.html and for the Lyon sprite used for Etzel: http://spritedatabase.net/files/gba/991/Sprite/Lyon.gif as well as the nomad sprite used for Wolf: http://spritedatabase.net/files/gba/990/Sprite/NomadTrooper.gif Credit to Grim and Bonzai for the hero sprites used as a base for Caesar, Horace, and Astram: http://spritedatabase.net/file/3097http://spritedatabas...prite/Hero2.gif Falcon Knight sprites and female Bishop sprites used for Maria, Caeda, Palla, Catria, Est, Elice, and Nyna found at http://www.feplanet.net Naga Map Sprites: Pheros Map Sprites: Layla Map Sprites: Human Lilith Map Sprites: Mikoto Class Change Sprites: Arete Class Change Sprites: Sumeragi Class Change Sprites: I'm planning to probably make map sprites for human Anankos next, and then maybe battle sprites for characters from New Mystery, Gaiden, Genealogy and Thracia. Feel free to use any of them, just give credit if you do. Thanks for looking!
  6. How do you make frames loop in a battle animation script? (Like for example when a magic user casts a spell) Does the code differ in FE7 and FE8?
  7. Does anyone know where I can find it? I know its very similar to paradise scramble but I prefer this due to the guitar in the battle theme.
  8. That's the original post... [spoiler=1st Edit]1/23 Awesome, sounding like we have a lot of interest in this... so I guess we'll get a contest up soon, in the meantime while I finalize/figure out rules lets have some thoughts on what the community would enjoy! The poll is now up to get a sense of what we'll try with Format and Topics/Themes... [spoiler=2nd Edit]1/24 ...and the thread/contest is up! Hope you enjoy! [spoiler=3rd Edit]1/27 added to the title, tribute to Aeo finally getting thru to my stubborn, sleep deprived ass to be more casual. :) CURRENT EDIT: 1/28 So, took out the first poll as we have the first contest up and going well. Second poll on themes/topics will stay. New poll added as there was some debate about how people wanted to be able to vote. ...so go vote, and discuss. (Found a quirk...If you have already entered a vote in one of the earlier polls, you will have to choose delete my vote in order to re-enter voting) [spoiler= Copies of Old Polls] 1/28/15 Copy of the first poll: Contest Format. Copy of the Second Poll: Topics and Themes, original votes. ...animations ended up getting some more votes after we put the first contest thread up. At the original time posted, animations did not have enough votes/interest to make it a category. I'd like to try and have a week focused on animations though. Think that'd be great to spice things up and develop those skills. :) ...OK, votes got borked due to Question 1 Poll being deleted. Poll 2 is still reading the old multiple choice votes despite now being a single choice vote now... UGH... Ok, rejigged it, Question 2 back in right place... Please recast your votes. Edit: so... First comp. Entry vote is up... Go vote! EDIT: ...2nd Comp vote is on! Go vote! [spoiler=Helpful Tutorials] Here's a good tutorial on use of colors in pixel art and spriting... and some others that may be a bit more advanced... but good reads anyways... Thinking in Color -Excellent easy to understand tutorial on how colors effect your pixel art/sprite. Definitely worth the read! Derek-Make Games: 10 step custom sprite tutorial -great quick, easy tutorial on custom pixel art/sprites. So you Wanna be a Pixel Artist? 11 part series. -A bit wordy, but very well done in-depth look at the world of pixel art in general, from map tiles to sprites to animations. BwdYeti's tutorials are very recommended reads as well. Please share if you know of any other excellent tutorials! :D ...so here are the links to BwdYeti's custom battle sprite tutorials... Shared with his permission. I found his second tutorial, along with the Thinking in Color very fascinating on palletes... Hoping to apply those to my next couple sprites now that I understand it a bit better. BwdYeti's Custom Battle Sprite Tutorial #1 -kinda old, from before 2009... But a great look at the process of creating custom battle sprites from the Best Battle Spriter around... Then and now. Yeti's custom tutorial #2 -his second tutorial, even better than the first! 9. Hello! :) I was wondering if someone could point me to a guide or tutorial on how to change the in-battle GUI for a FE7 hack? Also, if there are any available, could you also please point me to any existing free to use GUI's? Thanks

If we get equal to or less than 20 entries in a following competition we will simply go with Best in Theme to make voting easier. VOTING: Voting will be split into three categories, -Best Full Custom (single vote) -Best Edit/Splice (single vote) -Pick the ones you like (Multiple votes) >Voting will run for 3 days >Sprites will be categorized following the voting >Highest combined Votes=Best Overall Sprite >Highest vote Full custom=Best Custom Sprite >Highest vote Splice/Edit=Best Edited Sprite WINNERS: Winner of Best Overall Sprite may also be the winner of Best Full Custom, or Best Splice/Edit category. > Winner of the Best Overall Sprite gets to choose the next theme/topic of the following contest. > Winner of the Full Custom Division gets to provide a skeleton pose. > Winner of the Splice Division gets to provide a base sprite to splice for the next contest. > Winner with the highest votes total gets to provide a reference/original art. Runners-up will be the two contestants with the next highest votes following the winners. > The Runners-up of the two categories will get to provide their choice of either one base sprite each for splicing, a reference, or a skeleton pose. > Winners and Runners-up must provide their choices within 3 days of the host's private messaging. Host will provide the next theme/topic if no reply in 3 days. ---- Any further questions or concerns can be PMed to the current host!(That's me Errant, currently) ...or posted either in the feedback thread or within this thread itself. Voting Period: Voting is now finished. Hope you all enjoy the awesome entries! Edit: Dozla entry relocated to splice/edit division.
  17. Hey all, Welcome to the first ever,(that I am aware of) Serenes Forest Biweekly Battle Sprite Showdown! ---- Many thanks to all who offered ideas, and suggestions! So much great feedback, and much thanks goes to Lenh, Ghast, and Levy for suggestions on format for rules and competition, and to all who offered advice or ideas... Special kudos to Lenh for going over each part of the original post! With that out of the way, lets get down to it! ----- THEME/TOPIC: Match Game, Make a battle sprite that matches the artwork or mug of an existing Fire Emblem character. can be any of entries from the series(ex. FE13, FE BS satellite, etc.) ENTRIES: An example of what to post. [Name of character] Lyn [Entry Division] Splice/Edit -Base used for Splicers/Editors(non-Optional), Pose/Skeleton or early form for Custom Sprite(Optional) -Your Entry -Reference/mug to illustrate or be used for the concept or theme. -Post reference/art used in spoilers below [spoiler=Original Art/Reference] Lyn is one of the few Fire Emblem GBA sprites to have a mug and sprite, and even character art that actually match pretty well... so, lets make some more, shall we? ------ As this is our first Biweekly Battle Sprite Showdown competition, let me lay out some ground rules. [spoiler=Rules] RULES: 1) only 1 entry per contestant, either in the Full Custom division or in the Splice/Heavy Edit division. 2) No voting for your own entry! 3) Entries should be limited to 16 colors.(15 colors+ 1 background color) This is more of a guideline, but good to follow for style and challenge reasons. Colors may be custom or using GBA sprite palletes. 4) No posting previous/old works. SPLICE/HEAVY EDIT DIVISION NOTES > Contestants must be able to show work if splice/edited nature of the sprite is under question. FULL CUSTOM DIVISION NOTES > Again, Skeleton/early version is not required to be posted, but recommended. (This is more for newer battle spriters to learn from/reference) [spoiler=Voting and Winners] VOTING: Voting will be split into three categories, -Best Full Custom -Best Splice/Edit. -Best Overall Battle Sprite >Voting will run for 3 days WINNERS: Winner of Best Overall Sprite may also be the winner of Best Full Custom, or Best Splice/Edit category. Runners-up will be the three contestants with the next highest votes following the winners. > The Runners-up of the three categories will get to provide their choice of either one base sprite each for splicing, a reference, or a skeleton pose. > Winners and Runners-up must provide their choices within 3 days of the host's private messaging. Host will provide the next theme/topic if no reply in 3 days. The Winners of each category of the contest will also receive a custom banner and trophy sprite which they can display in their signatures for bragging rights. A thread will be kept updated chronicling past events and winners for the community. ---- Any further questions or concerns can be PMed to the current host!(That's me Errant, currently) ...or posted either in the feedback thread or within this thread itself. Deadline: Monday, February 9th, 2015... 11:59pm PST (ie... about 2 weeks) ...1 day extension. Hope you all enjoy and have some fun! Lets get spriting! :D PS: I have currently left out animations as a category. We may do another of the Competition weeks focused on animations but as for now they are just bonus. Might garner you some extra votes if people think it looks cool. If we have enough interest for animations, we may include that as a division/category of future showdowns, or have showdowns focused on animations. ...any other suggestions or ideas on the format/rules/deadline will be taken into account. My apologies if this is still too wordy... we'll work on that. ;) EDIT: voting thread is up! Go vote!
  18. Hey! Just like the smash bros match creator person, I am bored and want to battle. I'm sure there's someone here who wants to as well. This can also be a place to get others' friend codes for safaris and stuff like that but mostly battles Battles can be on showdown or in game FC: 0602-6397-5850 IGN: Clarine

  23. Link is behind by 1200ish votes with around a half hour left. Gamblers, fanboys and some Trent guy on twitter with 170k followers are involved. Possible DDoS by LoL fans. If you need a reminder of how worked up people will get over the silliest things head to GFAQs.
