Out of every character so far, and there are many I dislike. I absolutely hate Takumi, having played Birthrite and Conquest to at least chapter 15 in both routes. Can't stand him.

I find this interesting. Before the games came out, I *thought* I hated Takumi, but I ended up playing Birthright first (brother wanted to borrow Conquest) and ended up completely changing my mind. Normally when I see people say they hate him, they've only played Conquest and i suggest they check out both games to make sure they know what they're talking about.

... That said, you have played part of both games and are further on Birthright then I am. I'm very curious how Takumi has managed to retain your ire, considering my own history. To be clear: it's totally fine if you don't like him. I just find varying opinions interesting. :)

Don't get me wrong, I like Robin and Morgan better too but wasn't Morgan an amnesiac tactician just like her dad in the same way Kana takes after her dad?

Yeah, I guess they don't deviate too much from their parents (which would also explain why Morgan is more likable, cuz Robin is better), but I feel like Morgan is... put together better based on their supports? I liked Morgan's varying ways of interactions with everyone and they are enough to differentiate his/her character from Robin (at least, that's how I felt with M!Morgan). Morgan can be a little dorky, helpful, competitive, and funny.

[spoiler=] He/she also had a neat little role of being the boss in two Future Past maps

With Kana, I just get the same childish vibe over and over again.

I don't like the whole "perfection" thing, so I never really liked Cordelia in Awakening. Oddly enough, I do really like Subaki, but I still really don't like Caeldori. I don't even want to use her as a unit no matter how good she can become, which it rather unfortunate. ): Plus I never liked Tharja to begin with so I don't like Rhajat still.

Design-wise, I don't really like Peri, but I haven't played Conquest yet to judge about her character (though judging from the posts, she seems awful).

Other than them, I think I like/am neutral about all of the other characters.

Oddly I find Subaki worse... All his convo he shouts PERFECTION.... Literally none of his convos ever had him not mention his perfection... At least Cordelia was modest about it.... (Haven't got to play as kids yet so no judging Caledori well I can't anyways...) anyways I really dislike Saizo... Surprisingly.... Out of all the ninjas (counting his rip off of gauis son, Asugi) I disliked him the most... He wasn't that interesting for me... And I used him the least of the 4 ninjas in birthright... Kagero (dispite how late she comes) surpasses him in strength and I love her convos, especially the exotic paintings of hell that she creates XD Edited by Ronman5

inb4 Sunwoo tears you a new arsehole.

I'm only kidding, pls don't hurt me.

Eh, people will hate characters I like and I'm not going to do anything about it as long as they're not hating on the people who do like that character. Some people will never like a certain character, regardless of any good reasons for the way that character acts.

That said, I still think Takumi is an infinitely better character than Kamui and can understand his behavior in Nohr. (He's fine in Birthright.) So far, I think the only character I strongly dislike is still Nohr!Kamui. On the Hoshido route they aren't bad, and I haven't recruited any of the children yet.

(If I recruited the kids, I have a feeling I'd find more characters who are disagreeable. I'm still :| that localization turned my favorite child character into a pickle fetishist joke character.)

Design

Peri's design is just awful. Her armor is quite plain and her hair is just ugh. Even her personality (which is rubbish) couldn't even make up for it.

Gameplay

Asama/Asamu/however you spell it, I found him unnecessary. Oh look, another healer... it's not like I already have two very good ones already by the time I get him. Oh wait, I do. Jacob/Felicia and Sakura are far more useful than he is. And he's the father of another healer, who always remains quite unnecessary unless your other healers died or she has the ideal mother to make her healing OP.

No Reason

At first I thought this would be Takumi, since he was such an a**hole, but I ended up liking him. The one I just don't like is Arthur. He just creeps me out. That is all.

I get why some people didn't like the Awakening 2.0 characters, but tbh, they're not that bad.

I really like the majority of characters. I think the only ones I have any complaints about are...

1. Nina- Her gimmick got annoying very fast. I have no idea how she got ranked as the most popular of the female children. It's annoying having a girl that incapable of speaking to guys, and makes it even worse by her fantasies of gay men.

2. Solei- Okay, I've got mixed feelings on her. Her supports with Laslow were pretty sweet....but her supports with her mom made me wonder if she has a compulsion disorder. I have a problem with characters that can't take a hint.

True! But I don't know, I find Subaki more bearable only because I didn't have an initial distaste for him unlike Caeldori which just stemmed from Cordelia, and although she was more modest about it, she had that unrequited love thing going on which kind of drove me away from liking her haha. Though it seems like I got to bear with it since my brother has her figure on pre-order, so I'm stuck with her forever. :') I really like her design though, on the plus side.

I think Effie's whole eating thing is just really wierd and out of place. Plus her voice isn't exactly the best. I just can't get really used to it.

She's probably one of my least favorites. Though I don't hate her at all. I just think her character is disappointing, at least in the localization. Not sure how she is in the Japanese version.

Morgan is a much better character because the team had an idea of how to write them. Like you said, they show various sides of their personality and have DLC roles, while Kana is just a copy of Morgan with increased cuteness at the cost of everything else.

Nina is essentially a walking trope and an extreme take on yaoi fan girls who can't shut up about their porn and don't see why talking about it to strangers would be weird (Nina seems to be aware of that though, but hey). Kinu and Foleo are very much the same, just popular anime stereotypes and apparently common fetish fuel for men and women respectively.

Xander what even is your character in Birthright.

[spoiler=Chapter 26]

Maybe I'm just overestimating him but why would he keep fighting after Elise got stabbed?? You just murdered your little sister and you're not even going to honor her last wish? Ok I can sort of deal with that.

Then his death dialogue talks about him not having a choice and doing what's best for Nohr but that's complete bullshit. He even says himself that Garon is obviously evil now. So for the good of Nohr would be NOT doing what the mega evil weirdo wants him to do.

So now this moron has done exactly what the obviously evil guy wanted. Even knowing that Garon is evil and that Elise got killed because he followed Garon's orders. He still fights you because the glorious plot demands it.

Hell just throw in Xander blaming you for her death because you brought her along. Anything to actually have it make sense for why Xander would still fight!

My interpretation of that scene is he just wanted to die after accidentally slashing Elise. And out of desperation, he kept provoking Corrin in the following scene so that Corrin could kill him.

And in so doing failing to honor her last request, making things harder for both of his retainers (they would've likely laid down their weapons if he died, like the soldiers earlier did when Hans died; I know he ordered them to stay out of it) and Corrin and defending a king he knew to be crazy but didn't have the willpower to oppose.

Why are we supposed to like this guy again?

The plot demands it. Now love him unconditionally so you feel bad about his death.

Iago, because I thought it was impossible to make a villainous character more cartoonishly evil than Valter, I was mistaken.

Seconding this, I just started Conquest it took not even one chapter to top Valter. He only seem as bad as Valter in Birthright though.

Coming from playing the game finally.

I thought I'd not like Xander. I really did. Honestly, I don't hate him, but I won't lie when I say I kind of like him. I've scanned his supports and they're pretty good. Why isn't' this the Xander we got?

I also thought I wouldn't like or care for Orochi. She's one of my go tos now.

As far as characters I don't like, besides Hayato so far they aren't anyone playable.

Jus' the generic Hans, Iago, and Garon.

Hmm, well I played both routes to keep myself from becoming biased to one side. But... yeah, you'll see.

Overall, I just felt that Hoshido had too many bland personalities or just reused repeatedly. And the characters that did stand out either did it negatively or rarely positive. I mean the only Hoshido characters I truly liked were Hinoka, Kaden, and Selkie. Yes, I was indifferent about many characters as a whole even Nohrians, but the ones that irked me more often than not were the Hoshidians. I mean the only reason Caeldori isn't with the other Hoshidian Awakening characters is just because of what I heard happens if Severa's her mother in Revelations.

Dang, you really don't like that guy, huh? Good thing I rarely use the kids then, especially the Awakening ones (that'd require using Tsubaki and Tsukuyomi and that's a big no no).

I was never a fan of Gaius in Awakening, and I felt that making him Mister Anti-Candy Ninja's kid was in very poor taste. I would've preferred Saizo's kid to be more like Volke from Radiance if anything.
