Dr. Tarrasque
Scores: Balcerzak: 87.5 Krad: 77.5 Psychout: 75 VincentASM: 75 Suichimo: 70 Kintenbo: 70 Dio/Mr. Belzebuth: 65 AstraLunaSol: 56.25 Joey: 40 Inui: 40 I Eat Tables: 15 Grandjackal/Etzel's Hips: 5 Pahn/Mr. Tonny: 2.5 Balcerzak is the winner. 1. What Fire Emblem Game does not use Attack Speed as part of its avoid formula? 10 points. The correct answer to this is FE3. If you looked around the Calculations pages of the site, the best 2 conclusions you could come to are FE4 and FE3. As it is, the FE4 page currently has that as a mistake. Proof why it's FE3: As you can see in the pictures, Av (Avoid) never changes. Proof that the answer isn't FE4: The bottom stat on the right window is avoid. It doesn't matter if you can't read Japanese or didn't know that but you can clearly see from the right window that everything drops when you switch from the Silver Sword to a Javelin. 2. What 3 games that can be discussed in the "Fire Emblem Forums" section of this forum have enemy attacks or abilities that would deal damage to more than 1 ally unit at once? 5 points for each correct answer. Submissions that have more than 3 answers will score 0 regardless of the submitted names. The correct answers are FE10 due to the AoE attacks by Ashera and the endgame bosses like Sephi and Dheg, FE Gaiden with some bosses like Jamill and Nuibaba using a special attack that hits everyone near them and Tearring Saga magic doing Area damage as said here: http://serenesforest.net/ts/magic.htm 3. Name the quickest method to determining the AS of Hard Mode Mamkutes of FESD. 10 points. The correct answer is simply looking at their avoid. If you look at a Fire Mamkute in FESD H5 final chapter and try to attack it with a 28 SPD unit, it won't be double attacked. This is because that Mamkute's SPD is actually 26 even though it should only be 20 (caps) + 4 (Firestone). As proof, their luck is 0 but their avoid is displayed as 26 when the avoid formula in the game is SPD + LCK/2 = AVO. 4. What is Mistyrain in the FE series? 10 points. http://serenesforest.net/general/prerelease.html CTRL + F "Mistyrain" without the quote marks. 5. Zealshi is an anagram for _______ which is better known as ______. Fill in the blanks, 5 points for each correct blank answered. The answer is Silezha which is better known as Silesia of FE4. The word can be found here: http://serenesforest.net/fe7/sound.htm 6. DSS is an acronym for a weapon or item somewhere in FE8. What is this item or weapon? 10 points. http://serenesforest.net/general/prerelease.html CTRL + F "Dark Stone Shard" without the quote marks. 7. Est is in FE1, FE2, FE3, FE11/FESD and soon in FE12/FE3DS. Where else is or was Est supposed to be? As? 2 part answer, 5 points for each. Look to the right in this image. http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v139/VincentASM/FE9/tellius_old.jpg Thus, the correct answers were FE9 and as a Territory/Island/location or anything like that. 8. From FE1-7, name 6 bosses that can still kill/damage assuming that they could have 0% displayed hit. 5 points for each correct answer, only 6 names allowed, any submission that has more than 6 will score 0 regardless of the submitted names The 7 acceptable answers were Boyce from FE4 and Mareeta, Galzus, Zwei, Pahn, Eyrios and Shiva from FE5. If there were a Sniper boss in FE8, it would've worked. 9. What was Fargus' first class? 10 points http://serenesforest.net/fe7/prototype.html CTRL + F "General" 10. Where is this from? 15 points The answer is: http://serenesforest.net/fe10/cg/04.png Simply saying FE10 would've been an acceptable answer. Psych
Number one has a second answer. I took it straight from the Dark Dragon calculations page. Magical avoid = Luck, which is what I told you. I should have gotten points for that, or at least half.
Tables
(I'm sure that smiley alone counts as enough context, considering my score) Although I'll also add, well done Bal.
Psych
Third place though! Cool! Bal probably won by not using hints. ;_;
Dr. Tarrasque
Balcerzak asked for hints on 5 and 10. Magical avoid = Luck, which is what I told you. I should have gotten points for that, or at least half. I said "what game" not "name a game". Edited July 18, 2010 by Sirius
Suichimo
I did pretty well. This was fun. Though I assume my answer for #3 wasn't acceptable, though that was the fastest way that I could think of, out of game. The stat caps page for FE1R actually lists Fire Dragons with a 26 Cap for Spd. Not sure what made me think of FE3 and 1R for question 2 though. I'm thinking it was the Earth Orb, but I'm not sure.
Krad
So Holyn/Dew!Tinny wasn't a good answer? She is a boss...sort of. Well, second place isn't bad. I thought I had done much worse.

Sword skills are only passed down to children who use swords at base and aren't mounted IIRC.
Kintenbo
Oh, so that's where number 10 was from! I was also considering one of the Fire Emblem 4 special weapons and part of various major bosses' robes or armor! Still, I guess I did fairly well! Krad
Sword skills are only passed down to children who use swords at base and aren't mounted IIRC. The inhertinace page says: SkillsThe children will inherit all Personal Skills from both their parents. The sole exceptions are the Sword Skills (eg. Shooting Star Sword), which only the on-foot and sword-wielding children can inherit (excludes Tinny since she doesn't use swords in her starting class). It's kind of like Corple with Holsety. Original Alear
I'm sad I forgot to do this, I would have liked to see how I would have scored! An excellently obscure quiz! 2. The boulders can do damage to multiple characters... LOL at the Est in FE9, I never knew about that one.
Soviet Gregor
I did better than all of you.
Icon of Sin
What about FE9? The boulders can do damage to multiple characters... It didn't count because it's a stationnary weapon. I know I put this BEFORE I noticed he didn't count it, so I got it wrong.
Dr. Tarrasque
The inhertinace page says: It's kind of like Corple with Holsety. I see. However, since she's unable to make use of it while she's a boss, it doesn't count. If it did, I may as well have to count any recruitable enemy boss in FE5 since Moonlight and Sun Sword works on any1. Or does either skill work for Tinny without her using swords? Krad
Or does either skill work for Tinny without her using swords? I haven't tried it, so I can't be sure. It should though, because the site at least doesn't say anything for the Sword Skills like "Can only be activated while using a sword". And by Corple and Holsety, I meant that she gets the skill even though she isn't supposed to, not that she isn't able to use it until after promotion. Kintenbo
I have to say that the fact that one of the answers isn't even a Fire Emblem game helps this quiz being a brain strainer!
AstraLunaSol
Huh, I didn't know TRS counted. =\ Anyway, fun quiz. Edited July 19, 2010 by AstraLunaSol
Balcerzak
Very nice quiz, Sirius. I'm surprised I came out on top, and even more surprised at the various nooks and crannies the answers were tucked away in on the main site. I actually couldn't find many of them there, so I dug around in other internet areas, like fireemblemwod and so forth, but apparently they were just hiding from me here. I was wondering why FE4 Holyn wasn't among one of these answers.

I'm pretty sure that what Vincent means is: which only the on-foot and sword-wielding children can inherit (hence Tinny doesn't get it since she doesn't use swords in her starting class). I think he was attempting to explicitly state that Tinny can't get it. I suppose it is possible she does, but I was always under the impression she won't. Anyone ever actually make Levin/Dew her father? If not, can anybody just hack that in there at the end of chapter 5 and then get to chapter 7 and see what she has?
