Team Skittles Takes The Stage

Recommended Posts

I'm between draft tourneys, I'm bored, and I've got a free save slot. It's time for Team Skittles!

The moon's fair light illuminated a secluded forest clearing. Five figures slowly made their way forward through the calm night. One by one, they kneeled before a sixth figure.

The first figure to rise was clothed head to toe in black robes. A yellow mask hid the identity of the figure, but it did nothing to conceal the red headband that kept the figure's blond hair out of his face.

"I am the Yellow Skittle, leader of the Skittles, and defender of the forgotten!"

The second figure's ascent was a little more unsteady, most likely due to the armor he was wearing. His lance clanked uncertainly, as he regained his feet. The figure's red mask was framed by curly red hair.

"I am the Red Skittle, second in command, and defender of the underleveled!"

The third figure gained his feet silently and smoothly. He stood a good deal shorter than the other two, and his bow looked almost too big for him. His purple hair clashed badly with the mask he wore.

"I am the Orange Skittle, youngest of the Skittles, and defender of the trash tier!"

The fourth figure towered over everyone else. The sword strapped to his waist looked more like a toy than a weapon. Unlike the previous figure, his purple hair matched his equally purple mask.

"I am the Purple Skittle, largest of the Skittles, and defender of the doormats!"

The final figure had stood up while no one was paying attention. He stood perfectly still, which was probably a good thing, given the way his axe was strapped to his back. Bright green hair poked out at all angles from behind the dark green mask he wore.

"....."

"Dude, say something," the redhead whispered.

".....Papaya."

"Now's not the time for that! You stand in front of Our Lady!"

"Whatever. I am the Green Skittle, the Skittle that hates speeches, and defender of the bricks. Happy?"

The final figure chuckled. Her white robes moved with her mirth. Like the others, she wore a mask, but hers was silver.

"It is nice to meet all of you, my Skittles. Marth needs your powers more than ever. Serve him well, and make sure he vanquishes the evil that threatens this world."

"Yes, My Lady. Your will is our command."

Like the last, erm, run I did, there will be a story. It isn't going to be as involved as the last one (sorry!), but I'll do my best to keep it amusing.

This run will be more challenging than the previous one I did. Here's the story-based rules I came up with so far:

1. This will be done on H2 (I've done this mode. Once.)

2. I will be using Team Skittles and their leader (obviously). The story also demands the use of Caeda and Marth.

3. The only other units I am allowed to use are prepromotes (for story purposes).

4. Wolf and Sedgar are not to be reclassed to Generals under any circumstances (so I don't trivialize this mode).

5. If it's not a prepromote or part of my story, it does not get recruited. If it auto-recruits, it dies.

6. Merric and Maria are the exceptions to the above rule, but they must die before I advance to the next map (stupid Excalibur and Minerva).

7. Gharnef must die by Starlight.

8. I am allowed to forge one ultimate weapon for each Skittle, and their leader. I am allowed to use any weapons as the base. Otherwise, the Forge is closed. Said weapons cannot be used until Endgame.

9. The only unit allowed to promote before Chapter 24 is Caeda. She cannot be more than five levels higher than the strongest Skittle.

10. Marth can never be of a higher level than the highest-leveled Skittle. This rule does not come into effect until Chapter 13.

11. Each Skittle must A rank the weapon mentioned in the introduction. Arms Scroll use will be necessary.

12. Each Skittle gets two reclasses at most - one to change their initial class, and one more upon promotion (if I need to use it).

13. Warpskipping is strictly forbidden. Usage of the Warp staff is not.

14. Every enemy must die starting from Chapter 6. Every Thief must die (how I pull this off is part of the challenge, especially on Chapter 6).

15. Resets are allowed only if someone pertinent to the story dies, or if I miss a Thief.

16. Starting from Chapter 16, the boss MUST be killed by a Skittle (because it's impossible to kill Chapter 15's true boss). For story purposes, the boss for Chapter 20 is Camus, and for Chapter 23 it's Gharnef.

I'm open to suggestions on how to make this more interesting!

[spoiler=Lore]Chapter 1

"You wish to answer Princess Nyna's call? It might be wise to find the members of Team Skittles."

"Team what?"

"Team Skittles. They look and act like ordinary soldiers, but when things get tough, their true power shines forth."

"Sounds colorful."

"Indeed they are. The trouble in this land should have stirred the Skittles within five brave warriors. Recruit them to your cause, and the rainbow will be on your side!"

". . .Why do I not like the sound of this?"

Chapter 2

"Prince Marth! Thank goodness you're here! I had to hide amongst these pirates so I could deliver my message. The Skittles have heard your call and--"

"That's enough outta ya, traitor!"

"Agh! The Skittles. . .are. . .young. . .*thud*"

"Well, Darros finally made himself useful."

"Did you say something, Jagen?"

"Not at all."

Chapter 3

"Skittles ye say? Ain't never heard of 'em."

"Why did one of your men mention that you knew the location of one of the Skittles?"

"Ya really believe that blimey traitor?"

"Yes."

"Men, find that scumsucker Julian an' cut 'is lying tongue outta his mouth."

"Yes, sir!"

"That's not the way to deny your knowledge of the Skittles!"

"Mate, if I were smart, I wouldn't be a bloomin' bandit, would I?"

Elsewhere. . .

"Sorry, Julian. Good to know that the leader of this merry band is a total moron. I have better things to do than ally myself with a prince and his rainbow entourage, so I'll take my leave. The rest is in your hands, Prince Marth."

Chapter 4

"Hey Marth, long time no see!"

"Merric?!"

"Yep! The one and only!"

"What can you tell me about Team Skittles?"

"Not much, I'm afraid. I'm here on vacation."

"Er. . .what?"

"Haven't you noticed? All the recruitables on this map aren't cut out for fighting!"

"Merric, have you been reading ahead?"

"No? Yes? Oh, right. I was supposed to give you this book."

"Isn't this your--"

"Gotta go! I need to hurry, or I'm gonna miss my massage!"

"I guess that was helpful? If he read that far ahead in the script, at least he could tell me more about those Skittles I'm supposed to find."

Chapter 5

"I don't like this one bit."

"Yeah. The pipsqueak's happier than normal."

"He was humming to himself even as he mucked the stalls."

"Men, is something wrong?"

"Not at all, Commander!"

"Good. We'll be riding out shortly. Marth is attacking from the east. We'll attack from the west."

"Yes sir!"

As the commander left his troops to prepare, the three that were conversing earlier could only wonder why their fellow brother-in-arms was so cheerful. The expression on his face would be easier to explain if their commander had just ordered them to relax in town.

The overly-bright soldier turned his back to his friends. "Friends", indeed. They kept making jokes about his height, voice, and generally youthful appearance, not realizing that he didn't like being treated like a little kid. The murmur in his head repeated its request.

"Yes, yes. I'll fight the evil that threatens this world. After that, I'll do something about the pests that belittle me."

The sound the murmur made could best be described as a quiet facepalm.

Chapter 6

"All those that can pick locks, raise your hand."

"....."

"Great, this castle's going to be harder to tackle than I thought. It's crawling with thieves, and I can't get the chests open!"

"(Did he say thieves? Thieves are bad. I'll kill as many thieves as possible! Then, I'll kill off the rest of the bad guys! This is gonna be fun!!)"

Somewhere far, far away. . .

"I hope I was correct in choosing him as a Skittle. He's definitely strong enough for it, but I think his moral compass needs recalibration. Marth, please show him what it means to be righteous!"

Chapter 6x

"Save the kids? What do I look like, a charity worker?"

"But Marth, if you save the kids, then you'll get the people on your side!"

"You've got a point, short stuff."

"(I don't believe this! Why is everyone so obsessed with my height?!)"

After the battle. . .

"Mister, you're really strong."

"Yeah, when I grow up, I wanna use a bow like you."

"Thanks, kids."

"We weren't talking to you, emo hair! We were talking to the one with the headband!"

"(Did those kids just shut the girly guy up? I'm impressed.)"

The Skittle looked down to see a girl tugging at his shirt. She looked to be about six.

"One day, I'm gonna be your wife."

"Wha?"

"I'm not gonna stay small forever, so promise me you'll come back and marry me!"

"I. . .uh, well. . ."

"Pleeeeease?!"

A woman saved the shortest member of Marth's group from shoving his foot in his mouth.

"Ve see that the children like you. That is a good sign. Ve cannot interfere directly, but ve vill vatch and vait to see your true potential."

"Why can't you join our army, Miss?"

"Ve have other things to do."

The woman leaned closer to the first Skittle.

"Ve vant to see vat a Skittle can do vithout our help. Don't disappoint us."

How in the nine and a half hells did she know? The question was never answered, for the strange woman turned to the girl who had, erm, demanded marriage.

"You von't marry him, for I vill be the one he proposes to!"

"That's not fair! You're way older than me!"

"*THUD*"

"The little man vas unable to take a joke."

"Leave it to the runt to completely botch a good situation."

"No one asked you, moss-head!"

Chapter 7

"The kid seems different."

"When we were in Aurelis, he was manically cheerful. He seems happy, but it's not the same."

"Maybe the change in scenery was good for him."

"(Why were those kids so nice to me? Who was that woman, and how did she know I was a Skittle? Are those flying units on our side?)"

"Hey there, heads up! Enemies are coming!"

"Oh, right."

"Pay attention, kiddo. We need you alive, because you're too hard to replace."

"(Part of me wants to inflict great bodily harm on him, and the other part wants to thank him. Why can't I just be angry with him, like I always was?)"

Elsewhere. . .

"My dear Skittle, they are your friends. They poke fun at you, but they will protect you with their lives. Please understand this before any more Skittles join up. Oh, and can you introduce me to your friend with the green hair? He reminds me of a manlier Merric."

Chapter 8

"Did you hear that?"

"Yeah. That voice. . .it wants us to join Marth."

"Let's go. We won't have a better opportunity than this."

On the other side. . .

"My Lady, you are asking me to betray my country for an unknown commander? I'm sorry, but I can't simply waltz over to the side of someone who may be worse. Let me see how he treats a lady before I decide whether or not he's worth serving."

Elsewhere. . .

"Hang on, Orange. You will no longer be fighting alone. Trust your new comrades!"

Chapter 9

"Huh? There's more like me?"

"Why wouldn't there be?"

"Uh, well. . ."

The veteran Skittle regarded his new teammates. The one who had responded to him had his nose stuck in a book. The second one still looked unsteady with his lance. The last one was busy gazing at a girl's backside.

"That lady said I was supposed to trust all of you, but--"

"You've been here the longest, so you can tell us everything about this army!"

"Right, but can you please point that thing away from me?"

"Oh, sorry."

The Skittle with the red mask hefted his lance a little too hard. The momentum tipped him over, which caused the lance to land dangerously close to the one in purple.

"GAH! Watch what you're doing!"

"I'm sorry!"

"Out of all of us, you've got to be the weakest!"

"Yeah, well, I'm kinda new at this!"

"My lady help us all. . ."

Had anyone been paying attention, they would have seen the Skittle with the book roll his eyes. Sure, they'd all just met, but they weren't a complete team. . .yet. Where was that last Skittle?

A little further off. . .

"That's the Skittles? I didn't know four of them had joined our army!"

"Are those the Skittles my father mentioned to you, Marth?"

"I think so."

"Oh, my. . .(should I tell Marth that one of them is enamored with my rear end?)"

Chapter 10

"This place is, like, huge."

"We can see that, Red."

"How can we murder all the bad guys if they're so spread out?"

"Do you ever think about anything else, Orange?"

"Er. . .not really."

"Huh? Who's the hot chick in the prison cell?"

"We don't have time to chase skirts, Purple!"

"But we're supposed to help damsels in distress!"

"Why did I get stuck as the leader?"

Chapter 11

"Ooh, a market!"

"Shopping is for girls, Purple."

"Exactly!"

"We don't have time for that! Skittles, move out!"

"Awww. . ."

Chapter 12

"Has this prison finally gotten to him?"

"I hope not. Archanea needs all the soldiers it can get."

"He was quiet before, but now he looks catatonic."

"He's barely eaten anything in the past week."

The person in question was curled up in a corner of the cell, with a faraway look on his face. If his fellow inmates had looked a little closer, they would have seen a small smile on his otherwise unremarkable features.

"(I am ready, my lady.)"

Chapter 12x

"It looks like we're all here."

"How 'bout we make a cool catchphrase or something? That's what all superhero teams do!"

"Yeah, the enemies will tremble every time they hear it!"

"The ladies will love it!"

"....."

"Er, Green?"

".............No thanks."

"Aw, come on, where's your spirit?"

"....."

"We're about to enter some knight-or-other's territory. Let's think of something to identify ourselves with."

The Skittle not participating in the discussion rolled his eyes. There had to be something he could do to stop this madness!

Chapter 13

"Didja see the look on that traitor's face when we announced our new battle cry?"

"Totally cool! We have to do that for every battle!"

"Let's introduce ourselves, too!"

"I guess it can't hurt."

The Skittles took a deep breath.

"I am the Yellow Skittle, leader of the Skittles!"

"I am the Red Skittle, second in command!"

"I am the Orange Skittle, smiter of evil!"

"I am the Purple Skittle, defender of ladies!"

The fifth Skittle let his breath out in a sigh. Was he called for this nonsense?

Elsewhere. . .

"My, what an interesting team building exercise. I know Green isn't the type to draw attention to himself, but he can try to humor them! Hmm, is that green-haired hunk about to take a bath? I have to watch this! I wonder if my Green Skittle and that piece of eye candy are related. . ."

Chapter 14

"I think we have to work on our descriptions. Did you see the look on Midia's face when you said you'd defend all the ladies?"

"I don't know if I want to defend someone like her. She's more manly than Marth. But if I'm not defending the ladies, then what should I do?"

"Call yourself the defender of the doormats."

The conversation stopped cold. Green had said more than two words.

"It does have a nice ring to it. All right, defender of the doormats it is!"

Chapter 15

"Red, why are you second in command?"

"Because I always state the obvious. What do you plan on calling yourself?"

"....."

"Come on, you can do better than that!"

"........"

"Adding more dots doesn't make it better!"

"You saw that?"

"I state the obvious."

"Then what's obvious about me?"

"You have the personality of a brick."

".....Beanpole"

Chapter 16

"Orange, what are you looking at?"

"It's a tier list."

"A what?"

"A list to see who's good and who's not. Why are THOSE TWO JERKS so high up?"

The Orange Skittle motioned over to the stables, where his two comrades were combing out their horses. If he wasn't wearing a mask, Orange would have seen Yellow cock an eyebrow.

"It looks like it's because they're something called prepromotes with insane growth rates. Hey, where are you?"

"Huh? I never bothered to--HEY!"

"What's wrong?"

"I'm in the trash tier!"

"It can't be that bad, can it?"

"It means they think I'm next to useless!"

"Why not defend those in your tier? It looks like they could use all the help they could get."

"Well, I--"

"You can't change who you are, so defend those who are in a worse position than you."

"I guess you have a point. . .but I don't care if that Forest where this list came from is inhabited by peace-loving birds. When I find it, I'm gonna burn it to the ground!"

"Oh dear. . .I hope he doesn't start a war. . ."

By the stables. . .

"Have you seen that kid around?"

"I see him in camp all the time, but I lose track of him on the battle field."

"Weird, isn't it?"

"Do you think. . .?"

"He's a Skittle? Nah, there's no way he'd spout off that kind of idiotic nonsense."

Chapter 17

"Kekeke. So, the legend of the Skittles was true! I'll crush you all right here!"

"I am the Yellow Skittle, leader of the Skittles!"

"I am the Red Skittle, second in command!"

"I am the Orange Skittle, defender of the trash tier!"

"I am the Purple Skittle, defender of the doormats!"

".....Lettuce."

"What the hell kind of introduction was--URGH! You dirty, underhanded Skittles! Medeus will make you pay for that, I swear!"

"That's pretty useful, Green."

"....."

"It doesn't fit with everything else, but enemies seem befuddled by it."

"....."

"Getting annoyed by the obvious?"

"Absolutely."

Chapter 18

"HEY!!"

Huh? Who are you?

"I'm Marth, the star of this story!"

No you're not.

"Oh yes I am! Which character draws the Game Over screen if he dies?"

Cool. If I ever need to do a chapter over, I'll kill you.

"Wait, WHAT?! Here's what I think of your story!"

Hey, hold on, that's the--curses. What was that for?

"It's a reminder that this is MY war, so I get to proc kills every now and then."

Oh, for crying out loud.

Elsewhere. . .

"He IS related to me, so I'll let this go. Once. If that happens again, I give you my permission to reset him down to size."

Yes, ma'am!

"Can you also write in a part where the dreamy guy with green hair decides to marry me?"

Sorry, he's mine.

Chapter 19

"Hey Purple, have you noticed something about Marth's army?"

"They all seem to be way stronger than us."

"It's not fair! My commanders can shoot from atop a horse, but I forgot how to ride when I picked up this bow!"

"The mages Marth keeps can wield sacred staves, but I can't make heads or tails of them."

"Those dragons. . ."

"Green, one day, you'll be able to indulge your inner axe murderer."

". . .Gaggles."

"That was totally uncalled for."

Chapter 20

"Today, we face a really tough boss. He's so tough, he doesn't need a throne."

"Can we do it?"

"What kind of question is that?! Of course we can! We're Team Skittles!"

"I think our introductions are going well, but we should add a little something afterwards. We're a team, not a bunch of individuals."

"Speak for yourselves."

Yellow shook his head. Red should've seen that one coming. Purple and Orange sighed in agreement. Green smirked.

"Each of us has our own color, so--"

"Why not mention a rainbow in that speech of yours?"

The Skittles jumped in unison. That was the voice that had called each one to his role as a Skittle!

"As you come closer to me, I am able to speak with all of you."

"Whoa. . .very cool!"

"I wonder what she looks like? Her voice sounds very serene."

"She mentioned a rainbow."

"We'll dazzle you with a rainbow?"

"No, that's too long."

"I'm hungry."

"Orange, what the heck?"

"I'm a growing boy, so I get hungry a lot!"

"Well, you are the youngest of us. . ."

". . .Broccoli."

"Green, that's one of my favorite foods!"

". . .Broccoli simmered in a light cream sauce with--"

"Oooh. . .this isn't fair. . .you're gonna taste the pointy end of my arrows when this mission's done!"

"Taste. . .hey, I like that."

"What is it, Yellow?"

"Taste the rainbow!"

"You're kidding, right?"

Chapter 21

". . .I want to ride a dragon. They're an intriguing shade of green."

"Will you put a lid on it already? I want a bigger sword, but that's not happening."

"That's not the only bigger thing you need."

"Green, you don't mean--"

"You need a bigger mouth, so you can shove your foot in farther."

"I like you better when you're saying random things."

". . .zucchini."

Elsewhere. . .

"Why can't my Skittle get along like normal people? So far, Green and Orange haven't had a long conversation, but if they do, I fear the end of the world. Everyone, cooperate. . .for the greater good."

Chapter 22

"This is home of the dude who killed his father, imprisoned his hot sister, and insisted on allying with the bad guys."

"Purple. . .Maria's too young for you."

"Minerva's sexy, so Maria will follow in her sister's footsteps."

"I don't believe this."

"You'll understand when you grow up, Orange."

"TAKE THAT BACK!"

A short distance away. . .

"Look at how Orange is dwarfed by Purple."

"Orange is the youngest of us, and Purple is the largest. . ."

"We should have them incorporate that into their intros!"

"Yellow, I'm the one that's supposed to state the obvious."

Somewhere in view of the two groups. . .

"Why is everyone else so much stronger than us? We're supposed to be Team Skittles, defenders of justice. How can we defend justice if we're barely holding our own in battle? Will we get stronger? I want a green dragon."

Chapter 23

"We've found you at last, Gharnef!"

"Team Skittles? HAH! You guys are pathetic!"

"I am the Yellow Skittle, leader of the Skittles! I'll make you pay for causing so much chaos!"

"I don't remember calling a jester to this tower."

"Why you--"

"Look at yourselves. None of you are promoted, and most of you were so unimportant that you weren't even mentioned in the original sequel! I got to come back in my same role! Take that, Mr. Skittle!"

"Yellow, don't let him get to you!"

"Oh, look, it's the almighty Red Skittle! You're so pathetic that you came in with no experience whatsoever under your belt. That would have been excusable if you came in SEVEN CHAPTERS EARLIER!"

"I finally caught up with everyone! That's our enemy?!"

"I'm supposed to use my considerable powers on the defender of the trash tier?! Why don't you run on home to your daddies, and betray them in two years?"

"I betray them? Cool."

"Orange, you're supposed to be on the side of the good guys!"

"Eww, it's the Purple Skittle. I've got a better chance of getting laid than you."

". . .Cucumber."

"A talking brick? Oh, right, you. You're so boring that IS decided not to give you a personality, and you're so ugly that your only fangirl is too old to be called one."

"That's one more than you, old man."

"Good, everyone's here. I am the Yellow Skittle, leader of the Skittles, and defender of the forgotten!"

"I am the Red Skittle, second in command, and defender of the underleveled!"

"I am the Orange Skittle, youngest of the Skittles and defender of the trash tier!"

"I am the Purple Skittle, largest of the Skittles and defender of the doormats!"

"I am the Green Skittle, the Skittle that hates you so much that I'm willing to make this damn speech, and defender of the bricks."

"We are Team Skittles! In the name of justice, prepare to taste the rainbow!"

"Wait, isn't the Green Skittle supposed to say something irrelevant? That's not fair! AAAGH!"

Sometime later. . .

"Only one fangirl? Really?"

"There's probably others that he didn't know about."

"Gharnef mentioned that she's too old to be a fangirl. Sounds like she's the stereotypical one, if that's true."

"Glasses, yes. Fat, no. Ugly is subjective. So is old."

"Do you think she's ugly?"

".....Mint."

"Ugh, never mind!"

That night. . .

"Thank you for freeing me, and for introducing yourselves. However, the enemies will be even stronger than what you're facing. My Skittles, it's time to release your true power!"

The moon's light was dimmed by the light that was released by the woman with the silver mask. Despite the brightness, the woman didn't flinch. Her smile only grew, as the light from the Skittles waned.

"This power--!"

"I feel like I can race the wind!"

"I think I came out of the trash tier."

"This. . .this sword. I can cleave a mountain with this!"

".....Thank you."

A dragon's roar echoed through the woods. While her Skittles chatted amongst themselves, the woman admired the night sky. It was the first time in years she was able to see the sky without being surrounded by walls.

"My Skittles. . .you have worked so hard. It is time for me to work hard, too."

Just outside the clearing. . .

"Who's that chick that joined the Skittles?"

"No clue."

"She's quite the piece of art."

"Aren't you supposed to be--"

"Interested in men? I do that for the fangirls and artists. Wouldn't mind taking home a girl like that."

"Whatever you say."

"What about you?"

"That woman seems too young for me."

"What are you looking for, your mom?"

"I'm looking for someone that's my age. Hey, where are you going? Ah, darn. Why did you get to be the leader of the Wolfguard? I'm the logical one, and I look a lot better when I smile!"

Chapter 24

"We're finally here!"

"Is that Medeus?"

"No, you unworthy insects! It is I, Xemcel!"

"Should we care about him?"

"NAH!"

"What kind of attitude is that?! I'm the one sitting on this throne, and--HEY, CUT THAT OUT!"

"Catch."

"I SAID STOP! GUARDS, KILL THAT INSOLENT SKITTLE!"

"We can't, sir. Your butt's glued to the throne, and we can't fly."

"AAARGH!!"

"I'll keep this generic on the throne busy. You guys make sure the rest of his army doesn't get to Marth."

"Er, okay. Stay safe, Green."

".....Kale"

A little further back. . .

The woman in silver shook her head. It was an effective strategy, but it was extremely inefficient. Was this how her Skittles defeated evil? Before she could complete her thoughts, an enemy flitted through her peripheral vision (or however much she had while wearing her mask).

"Looks like the battle's afoot. I hear Dragon Steaks are good for Strength. Let's see if that rumor's true. FIRE!"

Endgame

"Hey, what the--why are we all split up?"

"So I don't accidentally destroy the world by having a long conversation with you, Orange."

"I can kill you in one hit, Green."

"Will the two of you save it for Medeus?"

"Yes, ma'am."

A little later. . .

"OUCH! Ah, that feels good. What--not again! What's going on?"

"I think Marth used the legendary Geosphere."

"The what?"

"The Geosphere is a wondrous item that deals damage to everyone. Why am I saying the obvious? That's your job!"

"Marth. . .how could you?"

"Relax, Purple. Look at the enemies now."

"They look like--"

".....Spinach."

"Exactly. Let's go!"

"Did Green say something that is both random and relevant?"

"Don't think about it too hard, Red. Randomness may sometimes produce greatness."

A lot later. . .

"Team Skittles? How did you make it here?"

"Through hard work and magical powers."

"YOU?! Gharnef was supposed to kill you!"

"He realized that he couldn't wield the ultimate power unless he turned himself into a princess. He didn't want to do that, so he kept me alive."

"That fool! You're not the only one that can do that!"

"You should've told him sooner. Now, my Skittles, strike!"

"I am the Yellow Skittle, leader of the Skittles and defender of the forgotten!"

"I am the Red Skittle, second in command and defender of the underleveled!"

"I am the Orange Skittle, youngest of the Skittles and defender of the trash tier!"

"I am the Purple Skittle, largest of the Skittles and defender of the doormats!"

".....Soylent Green"

"What kind of vegetable is that supposed to be?!"

"It's not a vegetable, it's--*THWACK*"

"That was disgusting. Don't ever do that again, Green."

"Miss, isn't he on your side?"

"Did she just smack Green upside the head?"

"I. . .I want to marry her."

"You're a doormat for a reason, Purple."

"You're still waiting for puberty, Orange."

"Boys, you have a speech to finish. . ."

"She's cracking her knuckles. Green, don't screw up."

"Uh, right. I am the Green Skittle, the quiet Skittle, and defender of the bricks!"

"We are Team Skittles! In the name of justice, prepare to taste the rainbow!"

"I think I'm more scared of her than the lot of you."

"We've gotta keep him busy! We don't want him to lay a finger on her!"

"How many of us can challenge him without being roasty-toastied?"

"Who said we had to get close enough to have him attack us? Railgun, GO!"

"Whose idea was it to give the least stable Skittle a railgun?"

".....Onion."

"Those push-ups paid off! I can heft this book no problem! Tropical Mosquito Attack, GO!"

"I guess I'm staying here to make sure those mosquitoes don't bite us."

"Caeda honey, are you watching? Your Hero's gonna pulverize the bad guy!"

"You wretched little brats! You haven't seen the last of me!"

"Oh yeah?"

"You're gonna challenge ME with a baseball bat?"

"This isn't an ordinary bat. This is the Home Run Bat."

"How did you get that?!"

"Family heirloom. DIE!!!!"

*KREEEE*

"AAAIEEEE! *tink*"

"Player 1 defeated! The winner is player 2!"

"Where did that voice come from?"

"That's what happens after I use the Bat."

Elsewhere. . .

"Hey, who's using my Home Run Bat? That was a gift from some guy named Ike. Wonder how he's doing?"

In Tellius. . .

"Ike, what are you doing with those bunny ears?"

"This is a memento from a prince named Marth. Wonder how he's doing?"

Long after the battle. . .

"Nope, sorry. You've still got a write-up and a character dump to do."

Sedgar, what the heck are you doing?

"The epilogue can wait. Finish this up, will ya?"

You're not a Skittle!

"That's why I can do this. I believe your next run is Lemmings On The Run Redux, and I'd like to go from random supporting cast to co-star."

Oh, fine. Promise you'll cooperate on that run!

"When have I ever let you down?"

[spoiler=Very long epilogue]

Epilogue

"My Skittles, you have defeated the evil that has threatened this land. For now, our work is done."

"Before we all go off to do our own things, why were those kids all the way back in the beginning so nice to me? Who was that strange woman who knew I was a Skittle?"

"Oh Orange, you have been with Marth's army the longest, yet you still haven't figured it out? Those whose minds are not fully aligned with this world can see the power of a Skittle."

"Huh?"

"Children see and understand things much differently than adults. Some adults never grow out of that child-like mind. The former is expected, and the latter is better known as crazy."

"So. . .that lady was crazy?"

"Did she sound like she was in her right mind?"

"Oh, right."

"Now that evil no longer threatens us, the power of the Skittles is no longer needed. Farewell, my brave warriors! May the rainbow watch over you!"

Six colored lights shot up towards the sky, before streaking off to parts unknown. Six equally confused soldiers stared at one another.

"What am I doing with these robes on? WHERE IS MY SWORD?!"

"When did I learn to ride a horse?"

"A bow and arrow. . .?"

"What happened to my armor?"

"I seem to have a new pet."

"Who are you boys?"

A short distance off. . .

"I'm glad that kid was able to find kids his own age to hang out with. He's been trying to grow up too fast."

"Oh, you noticed too?"

"Yes we did, Miss. . ."

"Midia. I'm here to pick up a stray soldier."

"Did your stray soldier have friends his own age?"

"I never bothered to ask."

"He seems happy enough with his new group, and the dark dragon's dead. Why not let him relax a little?"

"Just this once. Who are you guys?"

"I'm Sedgar, and the drooling idiot next to me is Wolf."

"How could you--"

"He's completely oblivious when he's stalking a woman."

"He's doing WHAT?! I'll show him!"

"Better not, or he might decide to stalk you next. Why are you staring at me like that?"

"You kinda look like my missing soldier."

"It's probably a coincidence."

Two paces away. . .

"(The hot chick was the leader of the Skittles AND Marth's sister?! SCORE! Never thought our kid would be a Skittle, though. At least he's gotten good with a bow. I wonder why I could see who the Skittles were the entire time. I guess I'm special. Glad I never told Sedgar about it. He'd think I was crazy.)"

Much later that night. . .

Sleepy sounds reverberated throughout the camp. While Marth's troops took a well-earned rest, five points of light slowly descended upon the camp. The light split into different directions before settling into five unsuspecting people.

Outside of camp. . .

"Yes, I understand. The power of the Skittles will be needed in the future. When the time is right, they'll remember who they are. I hope I will be able to guide them."

The next morning. . .

"I had the weirdest dream last night. I dreamed I was on a horse, using a legendary spear to smite evil."

"I dreamed I had the power to control insects. Imagine that."

"I dreamed I was able to wield a bow that my commanders couldn't touch, and I was really good with it!"

"I dreamed I was a mighty hero, and the only one able to face a terrible evil."

"I dreamed I was flying high on a dragon."

"Think those dreams mean anything?"

"Probably not."

"I hope we meet again in the future. It's nice being around soldiers my age."

"I guess we can be friends, even if I'm from Grust."

"Don't let something as silly as borders define a friendship."

The blond mercenary and his redheaded partner waved at their newfound friends before heading off towards Port Warren. The largest of the group also waved, before walking off in the general direction of Grust.

"There you are! We're headed back to Aurelis. You ready to go?"

"Uh, well. . ."

"Worried about the kid with the green hair? His commander will be by shortly."

"It's not that. . ."

"We'll have plenty of time to talk on the road. Vyland and Hardin are waiting for us to return. I'm sure one of them has cooked up a nice batch of broccoli simmered in light cream sauce with shallots and wild mushrooms."

"You think so?"

"You might be the youngest of us, but you're no less of a soldier because of it. We wouldn't be the same without you."

"Thank you! I'll catch up soon! Er. . .where's Wolf?"

"He had a final farewell to say to his newfound 'girlfriend'. I hope this doesn't end in a restraining order!"

The kid with purple hair giggled and waved before running off after his friends.

"Daydreaming again?"

"It kept me sane in that prison cell."

"We're free now, and we need to return to Archanea. The country isn't going to rebuild itself!"

"Yes, ma'am."

The boy with the green hair took one last look at the forest clearing where they'd all met for the last time.

".....Broccoli."

"Excuse me?"

"Broccoli simmered in a light cream sauce with shallots and wild mushrooms. I think I'll try that when I get back home."

"As long as you eat your veggies. You're still a growing boy."

The Skittles have done their duty, and have been laid to rest. . .for now. What new adventures await them in the future? All we can do is watch and wait. . .and hope that four of them remember to show up when the time is right!

[spoiler=Playlogs]Chapter 1

Didn't take long to sacrifice Cain, Abel (to LB), Draug, and Gordin. One Sword hit from Jagen + one Javelin hit from Caeda + one hit from Marth = dead pirate. The trick was making sure that Caeda didn't die. Used the forts to great effect, then sent the boss to his grave via Javelin spam. I don't understand how Jagen could miss 10 41% chances in a row, while Caeda hits twice with 42%. Regardless, Caeda is turning into the goddess she needs to be (7 Strength at level 5), while Marth is being the wimp he's supposed to be (four stats up in two levels).

Chapter 2

Ogma and Company took a little longer than the previous group to sacrifice. Because I decided to play slow, Darros recruited himself (and died shortly afterwards). I wound up running back to the starting fort several times to draw the enemies one by one, so I could kill them. Jagen was kind enough to level Luck, which meant that this boss fight took all of two turns. Caeda looks like she'll be the best I've ever seen her. Let's just say Marth and Caeda are currently the same level, but Marth's Strength is below hers.

Chapter 3

Instead of doing the logical thing, I sent Julian and Lena to waylay the three Warriors running from the west, while my story characters went north. Navarre's health really suffers when he's on the other end of a Silver Lance, and thanks to my positioning, Jagen didn't take too much damage from that attack. Marth slowly killed off Navarre's group, while Julian did a superb job of dodging the fighters long enough for me to move everyone to the two northermost forts. From there, it was draw and bait. When presented with a choice between Marth and Caeda, the boss attacked Caeda. This put the boss low enough such that one more attack by Caeda and a single Steel Sword were enough to kill the boss. Marth finally gained Strength. Caeda is still awesome.

Chapter 4

Eleven disposable units, yay!

Sent four generics to the fort, while the rest ran towards the Cavaliers. The only three with weapons methodically took out the horses, while the Fighters had a heck of a time nailing the Myrmidon I left on the fort. I finished off the mounted units just as the Fighters finished their business. Apparently Caeda can double with a Javelin and kill the Fighters. Recruited Merric, then used him as bait for the Horsemen. Mowed them down, then introduced Mr. Ridersbane to Rapier. Forgot to visit the village with money. Hope I don't regret it!

Chapter 5

This chapter was done in three parts. The first part consisted of beating up the initial horse and archer rush. The second part involved recruiting Wendell (he was nice enough to kill Hardin for me). The last part was me making a mad dash to my starting position, and slowly taking out the reinforcements. The Steel Bow that Sedgar came with saw a lot of use. This map was so ridiculous that Wolf and Sedgar gained a level each (Wolf's level up was meh and Sedgar's was a perfect Horseman level).

My unit count has more than doubled. It's time for the real story to begin!

Chapter 6

Reclassing time! Reclassed Wendell to Paladin (so I don't have to worry about him dying to a single arrow), Wolf to Sorcerer (he won't level, but I really need a healer), and my Skittle to Archer. Reclassed several generics so they'd die.

The initial knight committed suicide on Jagen's Silver Lance (he got a critical). Sedgar managed to muscle his way into the north room on turn 2. That amazing level up he got in the previous level was enough to save his life. The two Cavaliers died to a Ridersbane and Wing Spear (neither of them had a chance to deal damage). Once I killed off the thief with the Killing Edge, I used two generics to blockade the doors to the north room, then had my Skittle kill the thieves off, one by one. After that, he opened the prison door, and used another generic as a shield while killing of Rickard. From there, I slowly made my way to the throne room, while picking off enemies. Despite the number of enemies between me and the throne room, I had to feed two generics to the boss. So far, so good.

My Skittle managed to level Luck, Strength, and Speed (not all at the same time), so I'm happy. I'm a little worried that it took four levels to pull this off. He's gonna need a lot more than that to unlock the true potential of the Skittles!

Chapter 6x

Reclassed Emo Hair back to Horseman, so I wouldn't mess his levels up. Received promoted generics with interesting stats.

Parked Wendell and Moss-Head on the forts to receive the pirate rush, while my Skittle sniped from behind the wall. Used the generics as bait to draw everyone else up (including all the lucky Archers). Rather than wait for the boss to counter-attack Wendell, Moss-Head landed a critical, which ended the map a tad early.

Chapter 7

Reclassed Wendell to Sage, so I can continue my "kill-all-enemies" rule. Forged the first ultimate weapon.

The generic flying units went down really fast to a combination of Excalibur and three bows. My Skittle took out Palla, Wolf shot Catria down, Sedgar told Est to leave, and Wendell introduced Minerva to Excalibur. Afterwards, I did my best to bait the southern enemies into attacking the generics, with mixed results (my Skittle is not a generic, cut it out!), with Wendell patching my regular troops up. Once the souther fort spawn petered out, Wolf and Sedgar took out the archers at the gate, then Caeda flew over the mountains to beat up the guards near the village. After that, Wendell pecked away at the boss with Fire, while my three bow units did what damage they could. My Skittle somehow pulled off a boss kill.

My Skittle is level 13, and developing exactly as I had planned. This means Caeda can start murdering entire maps by herself (level 13 with 11 Strength).

Chapter 8

Before I start the chapter dump, I'm gonna post my generic's base stats. I'm really impressed with them. All of them are level 3 prepromotes, and there's no Luck column because I said so.

Name HP Str Mag Skl Spd Def Res
Hepto 12 7 0 2 1 0 0
Octu 3 0 3 6 6 0 3
Naunu 7 6 0 5 1 4 0
Dexa 8 4 0 7 3 2 0
Hendexa 4 0 4 5 1 0 1
Duadexa 10 2 0 3 0 7 0

Sadly, the story dictates I can't keep them. I'd really like a second Wendell and Sedgar!

Went shopping, then ran north to intercept the cavaliers, archers, and knights. The generics tripped the first wave of troops to the left. With some careful positioning, I got it so that the only thing that would spawn from those forts would be a lone Horseman, and he wouldn't be able to do anything. Meanwhile, someone else provoked the right side, then Caeda flew over the mountains to start the flow of knights, which Wendell set on fire. Once that was over, I moved mostly everyone to the boss, which started the right side's knights again. I used two generics to blockade the pass while Wendell, Wolf, and Sedgar sent them to the Great Beyond. If you kill the boss on this mode, those stupid knights will still show up. They were enough to kill off the remainder of my generics.

Chapter 9

The Yellow Skittle is a Dark Mage, the Red Skittle is a Cavalier, and the Purple Skittle is a Mercenary.

Marth went to recruit Jeorge, Caeda chased down the Wyrmslayer, and everyone else slowly worked down south. All my Skittles (except for Orange) gained a level. A generic Berserker distracted three Pirates. The Aurelian Horseman Duo does a good job weakening units, so my Skittles can gain valuable experience. The Red Skittle gained quite a bit just by finishing off Pirates. The Purple Skittle wasn't dealing much damage, but this happened to be a map full of axe guys, so it wasn't too hard for him to sneak a hit or two in.

The boss went down to the Yellow Skittle's Fire.

Chapter 10

Reclassed Jeorge to Dracoknight, in the forlorn hope that he'll be useful.

Red's assessment of the map was absolutely right. Fortunately, the reinforcements don't spawn near my favorite camp spot.

First, I had everyone take out the four horses that like to say hi. Half of them went down to Skittle Power, one went down to Caeda's Javelin, and the last one ran into Marth (who weakened it to the point where the Purple Skittle could kill it). After that, everyone ran into the castle. My generics were meatshields against the fliers and reinforcements, while Sedgar put a significant dent in their HP so the Yellow Skittle could Fire them. Wendell gained a ton of experience healing them. Once the reinforcements stopped, I had Marth and Wendell move to free Maria. After convincing Maria that it would be a good idea to join me, I warped Marth close to Minerva, so I could recruit her. From there, I baited the Armorslayer dude to kill off all my generics and Maria, then killed the rest of the map. The boss was Excaliblicked (much to the Yellow Skittle's chagrin), and the Speedwings went to the Orange Skittle (so he doesn't die on me in later chapters).

The Red Skittle hit D in lances, so making him gain levels will be much easier.

Chapter 11

I reclassed a generic Sage to Paladin, and the resulting unit had 10 RES. WTF?

My Skittles dealt righteous justice to the Ruffians in the market before heading north. The generic Paladin mentioned earlier broke the Thunderbolt. Sedgar baited the Horseman, and Wolf baited the Sniper (he's got the better Luck of the two). Once those two were dead, I sent everyone around the cranky old man to deal with the Stonehoist and random Cavaliers. After that, Jeorge and Minerva (who were waiting just south of Jake the entire time) flew north. Minerva introduced Jake to her axe, and Jeorge switched her weapon to Hand Axe once Jake was dead. I used a generic Paladin to bait Khozen. . .but the stupid dragon missed. The boss died to the Purple Skittle, and the dude with the Javelin died to the Red Skittle.

It looks like my Skittles are doing what I need them to do. Red's gaining a ton of Defense, Yellow's gaining everything he needs to, Purple's Strength is going up, and Orange is sitting tight on a ton of HP. Let's see what Green has in stock. Speaking of. . .

Chapter 12

Had to wait a turn for the guards to kill off the twins, then had Caeda deal with the dude with Thunder (11 STR + Silver Lance = OHKO), while the Aurelian Duo took out the archers. Burned through two Warp Staff uses. The first one was to warp Marth into the prison cell, so the three left alive could arm themselves and unlock the door. The second one was so Boah could warp Marth back out, so he could stabbity one of the irritants from the south. The Red Skittle and the generic that refused to die last map blocked the passage near the treasure room, so the rest of my party could snipe at them. In this manner, the Purple Skittle got himself to D Swords.

The generic Paladin somehow survived that, so he was sent to bait the Mamkute (dodged that), then the Sniper (impossible to dodge, thank goodness). The Mamkute's last vision was of the pointy end of Caeda's lance. The Sniper was sent to the afterlife courtesy of the Purple Skittle. Sedgar put a dent in the boss' health, and the Purple Skittle ran up to kill him before anyone could object. Got all the treasure, including the Boots. Not sure who to give them to yet (I'm inclined to give them to Yellow, because magic users have bad movement).

Chapter 12x

The Green Skittle is a Cavalier, for the time being.

Fed plenty of kills to the various Skittles, and wound up using Marth of all people as bait (he's relatively fast, and has good Luck). The Green Skittle took out the boss. The only enemies left alive were Horace and Co., but that's because I needed to recruit him, and killing his troops with the party I had without killing him would have been more work than it was worth.

Here's what my Skittles look like so far (a starred stat is one that got a stat booster):

Name Class Level HP Str Mag Skl Spd Lck Def Res
Yellow Dark Mage 12.78 25 2 6 4 9 9 6 8
Red Cavalier 13.63 28 13 0 8 8 5 14 0
Orange Archer 17.35 32 10 0 13 11* 6 7 0
Purple Mercenary 14.39 26 10 0 16 17 10 7 0
Green Cavalier 12.44 27 8 0 6 9 6 7 0

Marth Lord 16.04 31 13 0 12 15 17 8 0
Caeda Peggy 17.63 22 11 1 14 20 20 8 6

I guess this wouldn't be so unusual, if it wasn't for the fact that Caeda hasn't gained Strength in the last five levels.

Chapter 13

Well, are they?

The Yellow Skittle could only take one hit from anything, which was enough. The Red Skittle only drew interest from the Thunderbolt. The Green Skittle took all sorts of flack from the southern ballistas (but had enough sense to duck). The Purple Skittle was targeted when there was no one else to target. The ballistas must have sensed the hidden psycho in Orange, because he drew the majority of the fire.

Marched everyone down to deal with the boss. Astram was recruited, and promptly killed by the boss. Somehow, Midia wasn't. Boah and Wendell sat back and remotely healed. My final turn count wasn't too ridiculous, either (10 turns).

Chapter 14

This map is really long without a thief. Burned one of my Bridge Keys to get the bridge down, set the Ballista on Fire, then blockaded the central hall. The Orange Skittle put an arrow in Palla's hair (hint hint), and Sedgar took care of Catria. Marth first ran towards the treasure room to assist with taking out the Sniper, then ran back to get Thoron, then ran to the throne. The boss was humiliated to death. First, the Purple Skittle hit with an Armorslayer critical (39 HP), then missed the second hit. This left the boss at 1 HP. The Yellow Skittle then unnecessarily got a critical with Fire. Who cares, the map's over!

Chapter 15

Nothing like having 60% of my Skittles unable to traverse the desert properly! Forged the second ultimate weapon.

Minerva spun Gharnef around, while Caeda took out the Thief. The reinforcements from the east died to Midia, of all people. The Yellow Skittle on Barrier took out everything with Blizzard. Red and Green had that chat above while waiting for everyone else to finish. Orange got a little action in by shooting Dracoknights out of the sky. Marth had enough time to walk to the chests, then walk to the throne. The dude on the throne will have to face the shame that he went down to Jeorge.

Chapter 16

My apologies, everyone. :P

Caeda promoted.

Had everyone run full blast counter-clockwise around the map, and picked up Samson in the process. Boah stayed behind to snipe at both Heroes, but I wound up using a couple of Door Keys after the norther reinforcements decided they'd rather play with Boah than my troops parked on the southernmost island. Xane never got a chance to see Marth, and the boss died to a well-placed Thunder.

Flying units are amazing on this map. Even Jeorge was useful.

Chapter 17

Reclassed Caeda to Paladin.

The thieves were no match for the Red Skittle. That's all.

Oh, wait, the rest of the chapter?

Marth and the Purple Skittle on Wyrmslayer were dragon bait, and Wendell and Boah had their hands full healing them. Caeda and Wolf took care of the goodies to the southeast. This map took a bit longer than most, because Marth grabbed all the chests before moving to the throne. The boss died to the Orange Skittle. The other Skittles mopped up the reinforcements, and Minerva went shopping.

Stat time!

Name Class Level HP Str Mag Skl Spd Lck Def Res

Chapter 18

Reclassed Midia to Dracoknight, as the bridges will be really crowded.

The march down to the boss wasn't too bad. Horace was able to wall most of the hits, and the lone unit with Armorslayer didn't even get close. Blocked the Paladin reinforcement from the center, and used the rest of the reinforcements to level everyone else up. Made sure to kill off Est with Minerva.

As the story says, Marth ran in for the kill before I could object.

Chapter 19

This chapter took a long time because Marth opened all the chests.

I let the thieves open one of the treasure rooms and the Starsphere chest, then killed them. Everything else died to the fury of random things. The boss went down to a Wyrmslayer courtesy of Purple.

All my Skittles hit level 20, but I'll save the stats for a little later.

Chapter 20

Reclassed Caeda to Dracoknight.

This map is a good deal harder than it appears. I don't have long before I'm swimming in reinforcements, and the starting troops are a PITA to get rid of. Samson, Minerva, Horace, and the Red Skittle armed themselves with weapons that didn't like horses. Once the map began, Caeda flew over the river to take care of the Arrowspate, while Minerva + Hammer made one of the Generals most unhappy. Jeorge flew over to be a groupie, and everyone else yelled at the Paladins near the bridge so they'd come to visit. Once the enemy phase was over, all the Dracoknights that had flown over the river on Turn 1 flew back to Marth's army. This move was meant to delay the three Paladins by one turn, and it worked. While the Paladins were stuck in the mountains, I hustled as many units as I could spare over to the southern forts (those with Horseslayers and Poleaxes killed off the Paladins). I covered all the forts except for the one near the boss that spawns a Horseman, but Sedgar had no problems showing that unit who was better. After Turn 20 (probably waited too long), I opened up the bridge, beat up the remaining General, baited Camus with Sedgar, and then moved in for the kill via Poleaxe and Horseslayer (in that order). From there, I finished mopping up, and recruited the dude on the throne, for his lance.

Chapter 21

Waiting around for reinforcements would cost me money, and I don't have a lot of that, so instead, I went for a semi-fast boss kill. I wound up using Purple as bait for one of the Paladins (he was fast enough to keep from being doubled, and his insane HP meant that he could take it), while my slayers did their job against the various units that needed slaying. Sedgar was bait for two Dracoknights with Horseslayers (and even if both had hit, he would've survived), Samson nearly ate it, and Boah survived thanks to his supports. The boss went down on Turn 8 to Red's Horseslayer. After that, I took a couple of turns to buy Energy Drops, Spirit Dusts, Speedwings, and Goddess Icons. I'm gonna need all of them!

Chapter 22

Warp Staff usage was necessary, and the only reason why I wasn't steamrolled on this chapter.

The Thief takes a bit to get to the village, so I used that time to clear out as many enemies as possible. I used my fliers, Samson, and Horace as a wall against the flying enemies, then used Horace's bows to put a huge dent in various unit's HP. The Green Skittle bravely defended the village from the thief, while the rest of my flying units mopped up. Once I got in range of the castle, I made note of which forts the enemies came out of, then Warped two units on those forts. From there, everyone rushed in to stand on the forts, so I wouldn't have to deal with the enemies. Meanwhile, Minerva, Midia, Sedgar, and the Yellow Skittle (in that order) took out Michalis. Iote's Shield prevents Excalibur from doing critical damage, but Michalis has lousy Resistance, so he still took a lot of damage from Excalibur. This was the only use of Excalibur on this map.

Marth obtained Starlight, which means I'm ready for the next chapter (I hope).

Chapter 23

Gave the Yellow Skittle a Talisman.

Minerva made good use of her brother's Shield. She baited the first Sniper, while everyone else caught up. Put Boah on Barrier, then had him bait the Gharnef at the bottom of the stairs. . .which happened to be the real one. The Yellow Skittle hit him with Starlight, but Wendell accidentally left himself in range. Someone else traded Starlight to Boah, so he could do some damage with Starlight, then the Yellow Skittle took back Starlight to finish Gharnef. The entire time, one of the Swarm Bishops was running down the stairs. . .so Boah Warped Minerva right next to him, so she could kill him before he started sniping at my group. After that, I grabbed the treasure with Marth, then sent Caeda to the treasure room to distract the second Swarm Bishop. This left most of the right side of the tower clear, so everyone ran up the stairs, slowly took out the Sniper, Gharnef wannabe, and two Heroes. Used the second Hero's range to force the Swarm Bishop a little closer to the guys on the right, then Minvera flew up to his face and bashed it in. The dude on the throne was no match for Sedgar.

The MVP of this map was the Longbow. It gave me extra damage without me having to worry about counters.

This is what my Skittles looked like before promotion:

Name Class Level HP Str Mag Skl Spd Lck Def Res
Yellow Dark Mage 20.00 30 4 10 6 12 10 6 13*
Red Cavalier 20.00 33 18 0 11 9 8 16 0
Orange Archer 20.00 35 11 0 13 12* 6 8 0
Purple Mercenary 20.00 31 13 0 19 18 15 7 0
Green Cavalier 20.00 34 13 0 10 11 8 9 0

Marth Lord 19.58 34 15 0 13 16 19 8 0
Caeda Paladin 5.97 30 16 0 20 23 24 13 6

Chapter 24

The Skittles promoted. Here's what they are now:

Yellow - Sorcerer

Red - Paladin

Orange - Sniper

Purple - Hero

Green - Dracoknight

Immediately burned an Arms Scroll on Green, so he can have fun with the Hand Axe. Reclassed the Leader to Mage, and had her hang on to her Master Seal. Said a prayer, because those Dragons are scary on this mode (hello blinky-stat generics!)

Used Warp on Orange and parked him so that he was within Longbow range of the lone Thief, then had Minerva (with her brother's keepsake) send him to the Great Beyond. Purple blockaded the mountain pass (he was the only Skittle who wasn't in danger of eating a ORKO from the Dragons). I got a lucky critical on a Sniper with Orange, which saved me a lot of time. Once the initial rush died, I parked Green within Hand Axe range of the boss, immediately north of the boss. As long as the boss doesn't die, this is a safe spot for a flying unit to harry the boss. Green missed with the Hand Axe, and continued to (mostly) miss until he built his Axe Rank to A. I didn't get as much experience from the boss as I could've, but I didn't have to buy Arms Scrolls (which meant I had 7500 extra gold to burn on other things, like staves). I had to withdraw Purple a couple of times to heal him (Caeda or Red replaced him), but he did a fine job beating up bad guys. Orange sniped with the Longbow, while his two commanders were either baiting Pegasi or helping to smack down the lone dragon that has the sense to walk around the mountain. Yellow was either patching up people or finishing off Fire Dragons, and Leader got the majority of her kills from the dragon that took the long way to my army (Boah with Thoron was really good at weakening them).

After the insane rush, I slowly killed off the enemies that didn't want to play with me (the Sniper with the Steel Bow tinked Red), then had Green fly down and give the boss a piece of his mind. It took over 100 turns to do all of this, but I think the stats below speak for themselves.

Here's the stats from a previous post:

Name Class Level HP Str Mag Skl Spd Lck Def Res
Yellow Sorcerer 10.39 42 6 15 10 18 11 6 18*
Red Paladin 11.69 46 25 1 18 13 12 22 6
Orange Sniper 9.80 50 17 1 24 19* 6 10 3
Purple Hero 14.20 50 22 1 25 26 26 10 3
Green Drakky 10.04 44 17 1 14 17 11 14 4
Leader Sage 5.83 32 3 11 15 17 14 5 7

Marth Lord 21.89 35 15 0 15 17 20 9 0
Caeda Paladin 8.41 33 17 0 23 25 25 14 6

Endgame

Forged weapons:

Yellow: Sasoribi, forged Fire

Red: Longinus, forged Javelin

Orange: Railgun, forged Longbow

Purple: Decided he liked Mercurius better

Green: Silver Moon, forged Hand Axe

Leader: Blue Impulse, forged Blizzard

Put four Skittles in the northwest corner and Orange and Leader northeast.

The healers have 26 HP, which meant that two Geospheres was enough to kill them. Everything else was manageable once they were short over half their life, so it was mostly mop-up. Boah died to a Pachyderm (it was roughly a coin flip, and he called it wrong), and Purple nearly died to a miscalculation. Swarm took out the guard near Medeus and a Sniper, and the Longbow took care of the other Sniper. I warped Purple to the stairs on the left (to block the Magestoners), made Samson useful by having him stand on the stairs to the right, had Midia fly over to the eastern stairs, and had Minerva and Caeda prevent the Pachyderm and Thoron reinforcements. That meant I only had to deal with the four units that spawn near the shop. Orange and Sedgar teamed up to poke at reinforcements from Medeus' inner sanctum, while Red and Green finished off the weakened troops. The Leader and Gotoh used Fortify as necessary.

I poked at Medeus with Swarm and the Railgun until both hit, then had Purple and Mercurius stand in front of him. Medeus missed Purple, who was able to finish him off on the next player turn. The baseball bat was wishful thinking.

Final stats of everyone that survived:

Name Class Level HP Str Mag Skl Spd Lck Def Res

The first figure to rise was clothed head to toe in black robes. A yellow mask hid the identity of the figure, but it did nothing to conceal the red headband that kept the figure's blond hair out of his face.

"I am the Yellow Skittle, leader of the Skittles, and defender of the forgotten!"

Fuck yeah Caesar.

I think.

I think.

The Skittles will never be named. . .but it's not like who they are is that hard to guess.

YES! YOURE BACK!! But I thought Wolf was the emo all silenty one. And use Athena and Darros, I demand of it XD

More story? :D

(I read your Meddling Kids PT btw)

Just for that, Athena and Darros will get speaking roles. . .but it's not gonna be much, seeing as neither are a part of Team Skittles.

Also, thank you!

What the fuck?

Oh, I'm looking forward to seeing this evolve. Oh yesses.

Looks like I'm gonna have a heck of a time topping those kids. Hope I live up to your expectations!

This is going to be kickass. I will totally read this log.

Thank you! I'll do my best!

As always, there will be two parts - one for the lore, and one for the level. I would've done this sooner, but my DS card popped out in the middle of Chapter 1.

Chapter 1

"You wish to answer Princess Nyna's call? It might be wise to find the members of Team Skittles."

"Team what?"

"Team Skittles. They look and act like ordinary soldiers, but when things get tough, their true power shines forth."

"Sounds colorful."

"Indeed they are. The trouble in this land should have stirred the Skittles within five brave warriors. Recruit them to your cause, and the rainbow will be on your side!"

". . .Why do I not like the sound of this?"

I don't understand how Jagen could miss 10 41% chances in a row, while Caeda hits twice in a row with 42%. Regardless, Caeda is turning into the goddess she needs to be (7 Strength at level 5), while Marth is being the wimp he's supposed to be (four stats up in two levels).

Chapter 2

"Prince Marth! Thank goodness you're here! I had to hide amongst these pirates so I could deliver my message. The Skittles have heard your call and--"

"That's enough outta ya, traitor!"

"Agh! The Skittles. . .are. . .young. . .*thud*"

"Well, Darros finally made himself useful."

"Did you say something, Jagen?"

"Not at all."

Caeda sounds pretty epic right now.

Right now, her level and Strength are equal.

Onwards!!

My Skittle managed to level Luck, Strength, and Speed, so I'm happy. I'm a little worried that it took four levels to pull this off. He's gonna need a lot more than that to unlock the true potential of the Skittles!

The previous post is getting too long, so I'll continue here.

Chapter 9

Chapter 11

"Ooh, a market!"

"Shopping is for girls, Purple."

"Exactly!"

"We don't have time for that! Skittles, move out!"

"Awww. . ."

Speaking of. . .

Yep, he's gonna be a Dracoknight. He's gonna need at least two Arms Scrolls for him to get up to A with Axes, but I had better uses for Yellow and Purple.

Look at the character recruitment page to figure out who's who. It shouldn't be too hard.

Oh, and Orange's Luck is not normal. I wish he'd put that kind of effort into Strength and Speed!

The descriptions for the Skittles kinda gives it away. Even by reading the descriptions and taking a look at stats though I might not be 100% correct but I'll give it a shot:

[spoiler=Skittles' Identities]Yellow: Caesar

Red: Radd

Orange: Roshea

Purple: Roger(Although IMO his hair is pink)

Green: Thomas

I thought putting down when they came in would make figuring out who they are easier. Ah, well. Enjoy the Skittles!

I wonder if my Green Skittle and that piece of eye candy are related. . ."

Chapter 17

Stat time!

...

Midia's not manly.

:(

I think the remake was the worst to her. She looked prettier in FE1.

I wouldn't describe her personality as delicate, and that, combined with the fact that she's in armor on a horse, is what Purple meant (and the story says you're not alone).

Sorry if I made you sad!

Sorry for the delay, but the difficulty went from Almost Normal to Uh-Oh.

Chapter 18

"HEY!!"

Chapter 21

". . .I want to ride a dragon.

My, this is quite the challenge! Only got through two chapters, because that's how much I had to reset (can't afford to lose my fliers, no matter how bad their growths are).

Red Cavalier 20.00 33 18 0 11 9 8 16 0

Purple Mercenary 20.00 31 13 0 19 18 15 7 0
Green Cavalier 20.00 34 13 0 10 11 8 9 0

Marth Lord 19.58 34 15 0 13 16 19 8 0
Caeda Paladin 5.97 30 16 0 20 23 24 13 6

EDIT: There's a small but distinct difference between Midia and Minerva.
