Maklo
I'm not too great at making battle sprites, but it seems like the horse is missing a part of its neck. Or is that just me? *Poke**Poke*make some mugs /jk
eclipse
It. . .looks flat, but I can't tell you why. I'm not the best person to ask for such critiques.
Caliban of Sycorax
It looks like the shades on the horse are all the same color. The tail and the drapery should be different colors, or at least distinctive shades. The neck is also missing, there should be a bit of substance under the rider's arm. The horse itself lacks shading in its body, and better work needs to be done where the beginning of the tail meets the drapery.
Guest Wen Yang
In those cases, I have issues with the 16-color limit. :( I'm running very low on colors as it is >_<
Thor Odinson
Create a palette for yourself if you have trouble with the color limit. Take a look at how, let's say, the FemPaladin is colored in, and use those 16 colors as the basis for your palette. Then readjust the colors of the palette as see fit, but make sure they make sense. Guest Wen Yang
Tried changing the horse color. This any better?
Thor Odinson
Still very flat. You want to have shading on the surface, especially around the corners. Look up Anti-aliasing. Also her body looks proportionally awkward.
deleted35362
Your change didn't fix the problem. The yellow needs more contrast, as in, the different shades of yellow need to be more different. Make the darkest shade of yellow darker until it's just a bit darker than the black outline color, for starters.

Guest Wen Yang
I see. Will tinker around with the colors more then. Thanks for the tip.
Guest Wen Yang
Blargh. Further attempts at fixing the customed area just made me more and more dissatisfied >_< I ended up doing something else instead... this one is a pure splice + recolor. How is it? Edit: Added a Light-magic version Edit2: Magic triangle, completed. Edit3: second version of the anima one Edited April 22, 2011 by Wen Yang
13th
Nice.I have one important question, though. How do you promote Caeda into this? Edited April 22, 2011 by 13thshadow
deleted35362
Isn't it a big no-no to have a color inside the sprite darker than the outline? Right, I meant, a bit lighter than the outline color. Wen, those sprites look great O_O
Caliban of Sycorax
Yeah these look much better but the wings look off, there should be better contrast between the darkest two shades and the lightest two shades. I love the magic though.
Guest Wen Yang
For the shading part, those are pure recolors. I ripped the shading and everything directly off the Falcon Knight sprite.
Guest Wen Yang
Okay, I found out what was wrong with the wings. Are these better?
Strawman
Yeah those are pretty awesome. Definitely a really creative and awesome idea haha.
Guest Wen Yang
Slightly redone the light-magic one with an aura-like effect, this is prior to transparentizing so as to show the effect better. How is it? Also lightened the light magic color. Edit: Got bored and made a couple splices of Minerva... GBA-style. With Hauteclere With Gradivus. Any suggestions/ideas/comments on those? Edit2: Second version with the axe Edit3: YET another version with the axe. Which one is better? And one where she rests the axe on her shoulder: Edited April 26, 2011 by Wen Yang
Guest Wen Yang
A sprite of Jill The pegasus mages, with an aura-like effect. THE way to hunt for whales in Elibe. Got tired of customing the axe and decided to just rip Armads along with Hector's Arm. XD My first-ever attempt at mug-splicing (that has not been condemned to the depths of the Recycle bin). Dr.Sholes
Wendy looks BEAST! The mugs face is a different skin tone than her arms and neck

Astelaine
Those battle sprites are pimp. I LOVE that Wendy and those peg mages. And yeah, Wendy does look better with more hair. :)
Maklo
Wendy's looking pretty sweet. The splice is mostly okay, but the face and the arms and neck have two different skin colors. That and their isn't any shading where her hair meets her left shoulder. Other than that it's okay. Nice stuff, so far.
Guest Wen Yang
Retouched the mug, with some recolors and a little extra. how is this? Edited April 29, 2011 by Wen Yang
