As stated in two other topics, it could be a play on "cotton". A stretched out one, but still a possibility. It's also a type of curtain fabric.

OP, why are you super disgusted? Strikes me as an odd thing to be grossed out by.

Meh, i expected a name change for him, but the Zelda jokes are gonna be fun.

Better than the Michael Keaton jokes.

Aww... I was hoping they would stick with Flannel and keep the fabric theme like with Yarne and Panne. Oh well.

Keaton is a type of fabric/material used in curtains. Kind of how Kaden is probably a play on brocade.

He doesn't seem like a Keaton to me imo but I'll get used to it

but I find it adorable that Flannel's name is Keaton, Nishiki's name is Kaden…it's like twins or something, I really like it :>

As a lot of people have stated, Keaton would probably fit Kaden better given the mask in Zelda.

Wtf. I loved Flannel. Still going to call him Flannel.

Although, I don't mind Keaton, it just? Doesn't? Suit him? imo imo. Also I agree with Loki I want a keaton mask.

There was discussion about this over on GameFAQs, and it seems that keaton is a type of fabric, although the term is really obscure.

This. I figured there was some sort of reasoning behind it. "Keaton" is just more obscure/"exotic" than Flannel.

did this need its own thread

it was already mentioned in like, three of them

Not everyone reads every thread, so yeah. If there was a whole thread already dedicated to it, this would be overkill, but otherwise its fine.

I think the name Keaton is okay...I prefer Flannel, so I'm a little disappointed but I'll get over this one quickly.
