  1. Quick question: does anyone know if there's a jealousy formation that uses more than two other females? I cut more turns than I thought I would be able to in chapter 4 and am now not sure if Claude/Fury can be paired in time. I was just curious if anyone knew if there was a better formation than mine, I don't know too much about jealousy. Edit: Never mind, all is good. I clearly can't math.
  2. Nah just by contributions overall (besides being given certain items.) So that gives room for units like Lachesis/Slyvia/Dew to be considered.
  3. I think most people will get the top 10 units mostly right, though there are a few units on the fringes of that top 10. The real issue will be deciding what order to rank them. Aideen/Azel don't get credit for the rescue staff, by the way. I guess Gen 2 on my play through is more interesting because I don't quite have overpowered kids, but then again, some parts are super rig heavy (like the first half of chapter 8.)
  4. God this chapter would be a nightmare to LTC on 0% growths without the rescue staff. I mean... your best mounted units at this point in the game are a potentially promoted Fury (her base stats are pretty good), a promoted Beowulf, a promoted Lachesis, and Sigurd, all of whom have a lot of problems when used as combat units this late in the game on 0%. The good thing about the second generation is that I'm not slowed down by having to pull a 6 move unit all over the place because there are only like, three or four situations where I absolutely need Shanan to keep pace with my mounts.
  5. Essentially Sigurd already had the hero lance in his inventory and I think Holyn got more kills on it than Sigurd would have? I'm not sure, either way the hero lance is probably better because it has more might and Sigurd doesn't double the pegs/myrmidons/mages on this map even with the hero sword, I don't think. As for Lachesis, I noticed that she didn't have any healing staves in her inventory once I was already midway through planning out the turn by turn, and I didn't feel like backtracking for such a minor issue, since those wind mages are the only enemies with decent hit on Levin. I didn't really need to RNG abuse much as it was anyways, at least compared to other chapters (*cough* chapter 2 *cough*)
  6. Yeah, I could've gotten the Gaebolg but... whatever. All Cuan could have done with it is massacre some hapless pirate who wasn't even in my way. Anyways, I thought I wouldn't need any more sacrifices until the end of chapter 5, but turns out someone needed to kick the bucket to bait the pegasi away. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=qIwUatu0eLE&feature=youtu.be https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=IBo_y5yNizo&feature=youtu.be I'm kind of sad that generation one is nearing its end. I just enjoy it so much more than the second in terms of story, map design, and even music. It's also more diverse strategically since a lot of units get to contribute to the first generation on 0% growths, whereas the second generation is mostly just Celice/Oifaye/Laylea/Leif/Aless charging around with an occasional Shannan cameo and a few tiny contributions by other units.
  7. I think I'm actually done with sacrifices for the first generation (well maybe one person in chapter 5.) The second generation is where things get really quiet. I don't recruit Aseaello, Hannibal, Altenna, Corple, or Linda, and there are going to be a fair number of sacrifices too.
  8. You very well might win this draft, I'm not sure when/if I'll have the time to finish this. Taking on two drafts while working on my 0% growths play through wasn't the best idea.
  9. Shhh Claude/Sety don't have much money and I need to bring Shanan back from the dead in Gen 2 (and I'm actually 100% sure that Shanan's death saves a turn.)
  10. Her bases are amazing, but I already have Levin to kill pegs and Lachesis needs to keep both Dew and Levin up with the pack, so I just don't have the time to rescue her forwards. She definitely could do something though, there are just better options.
  11. Yeah, in FE4 you start losing turns a bit sooner just because of some of the map architecture (wooo 1 tile wide choke point in chapter 1) and the enemy's tendency to stick together in large formations makes it tough to charge straight forward. Anyways, here's the end of chapter 3. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=nVbiaBTJ7ks&feature=youtu.be
  12. That was amazing, I can't wait for the next game. Although it probably won't be as great to watch, no buy-able boots and smaller maps means fewer amazing rescue chains.
  13. If I was willing to rng abuse for days I think the 3 turn of Madino could be possible (I mean, Sigurd technically could dodge all those armors), but yeah I'm never going to waste that much time burning RN's. I think a few other areas are kind of in the same realm of "technically possible to cut a turn but who would ever RNG abuse that much."
  14. I mainly chose Duessel to make Scorched Sand easier. I don't know much about FE8 though, so I'm not surprised I made some terrible choices.
  15. Ah alright. I think I lose a turn on Madino and a turn on Silvail then? I'm not sure if that's avoidable, short of an absurd amount of rigging. I'm also not sure if getting Beowulf could save a turn. With some charge rigs he could take down Langabart quickly, but I 3 turn Lubeck with Levin anyways, so I doubt using Beowulf more would save a turn anywhere.
  16. Please! I would never let a unit who did so much for the run die! Well if Sylvia gets hit by a stray meteor once she's done in chapter 5 I won't shed a tear Sorry Sigurd
  17. Cuan has procced his last continue :( https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=iRK0kzWoIc4&feature=youtu.be
  18. I guess I should have been a bit clearer in my commentary. He's still pretty good in chapter 3, but chapter 4 is when he really starts to struggle. There are a lot of fast enemies he can't necessarily double, a lot of them use magic and he has low resistance, and even though he can take down enemies with hero weapons and stat rings he really can't take much punishment anymore. I more meant to say that he'd soon fall off, he's still a great unit in chapter 3. By chapter 4 he's still one of your better characters, but everyone is obsolete where you have Levin one rounding and dodging everything at 1-2 range even before you get Holsety, and the mounts just can't cut it alone anymore. Silvail is where he kind of hands the reins off to Levin, because you know, stupid cross knights with their 1-2 range.
  19. The rules are that rescue and Holsety aren't counted in the item ranking because they're the obvious one and two (without holsety I have no idea how I'd do any of chapter 5 efficiently.) Also, jokes aside, Alec's RNG abuse won't be counted because Noish/Midir/Fin (at least early on) could be doing that.
  20. Chapter 8: 6//48 turns Charged as fast as I could with a freshly promoted Franz Chapter 9: 10/58 turns Rescue dropped Eirka super far forward so that I didn't have to wait long for Amelia Valni: didn't really pay attention to Amelia's levels, since she won't be a combat unit ever. All she'll do is participate in a few rescue chains. Chapter 10: 5/63 turns Amelia participated in a rescue chain. This is the most she'll ever do. I'm glad that I can finally promoted Arthur (missed the guiding ring earlier) @Carmine sword you should subtract 8 from your turn count, 5x doesn't count
  21. Keeping anyone alive shouldn't be a problem with alec the rng god!
  22. Just post them here, but there's still a lot of the generation left.
  23. Here is the beginning of chapter 3. Base preparations: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=zFcJTfH-CN4 Madino castle: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=hYVGFZQ5Hgc Also, to fill the battle of Barhara, I've decided to run a little challenge. Right before I complete the first generation, people will be allowed to choose the top 10 units of the first generation (and their order) as well as the top 5 items of the first generation (omitting Rescue and Holsety, so that things are actually interesting.) You'll get one point for each correct character/item and one point for guessing the correct place on the list. If you get the most points I will write a poem in your honor and recite it during the battle of Barhara.
  24. Chapter 3: 7/19 turns Just punched through the walls and made a mad dash for the throne Chapter 4: 5/24 turns Franz got enough strength to one round the enemies, which was good. Chapter 5: 5/30 turns Charged straight through the middle. Eirika had enough strength to one round the boss. Chapter 5x: Gave every kill to Forde. Edit: Chapter 6 5/35 turns Franz is become really good Chapter 7 7/42 turns Had Eirika cross the river while other people got kills. Now Franz can promote!
