  1. I dunno why, but that didn't occur to me. Maybe an FEU offshoot? I think keeping FEU for hacking and making a separate board for FEXNA would be good. I'm a big fan of Discourse.

Just as long as we mirror the resource links for art, animations, etc - Since they're cross compatible.

  2. Added another track to the playlist. Hope you all enjoy.

In terms of feedback - The melody is simple yet pretty, but I think you spend too long looping the intro/A part before getting into the real meat of the song. It feels more classically JRPG than Fire Emblem, but I think with development around that idea it has potential.

  3. I'm pretty sure your Jorin got strength screwed since he's got a 50% growth.

Jorin's been my 2nd or 3rd best character pretty consistently in 3 or so playthroughs.

Then again, I also use Hugo and Aaron, so...yeah. That said, Aaron could use a point or two offensively (probably Speed) to keep abreast of his companions - He's been extremely tanky for me though, which I suspect is his niche.

My disdain of LTC is bleeding through, I guess.

It's really pointless to design for LTC, IMO - Most of the people playing Fire Emblem hacks don't play that way, or aren't super incredibly high skill level.

  4. Actually I do believe "Dame" would be the proper feminine equivalent.

This, though historically, there were no female knights so the title was not used in that particular time period.

A couple of prominent fantasy novels, including one famous musical number about temperature seem to have brought it into prominence to use sir for female knights.

The way I always saw the use of 'sir' is that it's used in regards to someone of more power or more respect than the user, or something to that effect.

At least, in regarding to how it's used in modern times, but I also have to bring up this because I'm curious, but don't they also refer to female soldiers who are captains/commanders in the various armed forces as Sir?

I don't know if it's true, but I do remember reading about it somewhere, but it seems that sir even now is used beyond any sexual connotations.

It's done in literature and film a lot (erroneously), but in modern militaries, you use gender-specific 'sir' or 'ma'am. There are a couple of cases where sir is/was used for females, (I've heard female teachers in certain countries, but cannot confirm),

but it's largely been abandoned I believe?

There is an odd issue in the hack. If you are in "Tale Select" (which you have no combat capable units in) and try to make a link arena team in and have the empty teams selected, the game cuts to black and crashes due to the engine being unable to display empty teams. You may want to remove the link arena.

Who presses the link arena in a hack?

  5. Might I suggest another colour, than grey, maybe? Typically greyed out text has meant "not usable by this character"--until someone pointed it out I kind of thought it meant that some unit couldn't use certain stats for whatever reason ._.

I actually agree with Agro. The greyed out text has a certain association, so it causes a bit of a mental disconnect.

Also Pi, you should stream/record your spriting again.

  6. Not Dead, mark two.

So that travel and work period lasted longer than I expected, and was followed by a period of burn out and a meaty script revision.

That said, it's actually in closed testing now, so ~2 weeks for real this time.

Also this was in the FEE3 video, but Oren received facial reconstruction surgery at the talented hands of Aeorys and Nih.

  7. I'd say work on sheeting your own stuff - You have some really great bases to work from there, and you'll learn more in doing so. Reference/splice other images as necessary.

I don't see a lot of use for it unless you're actually tweaking the movement. It's a lot of work for very little reward. A new full custom animation would be much more useful.

There's no need to resprite the whole cavalier, Klok.

You can literally add 2 frames tops and fixes that animation. Sqawl has already done it for lances and I've been porting it to axes/swords.

Edit: You know what'd be really great? A male Troubadour sprite

Already exists, and pretty much can be made in an hour.,

  8. Hmm, interesting.

Did you know that a save transfered from the previous public beta has different matchmaker settings as default? For example, I've got Fiora replacing Ninian in Eliwoods tale, not to mention Meredith replacing Isadora. Looking at Jerrot's tale shows me bard Mercutio (hey, I can use those rings!), and Guy has jumped into Heath's slot in Raven's Tale. There's probably other substitutions as well.

Yes, I know that's not a glitch. No, it's not a wrongly patched ROM - the "from scratch" save has the "classic" character setup.

...And yes, I seem to have the appropriate dialogue as well. Meredith and Harken had a nice little chat about being "the last of Lord Elbert's Knights Elite".

This isn't surprising. Save transfers over different iterations of ROMs are always a dicey thing, particularly when certain Event IDs get shuffled around, recreated/re-designated etc. al. It's even more noticeable with savestates.

  9. Crazycolorz got warned for his first and only post in this topic (something to do with being off-topic) and refuses to acknowledge the warn. So he's FEU-exclusive now :P:.

Gotta drive away the most talented new hacker of the community to come along in how long, obviously.

  10. Yes! Thanks~ Yes*, and yes. ^^

    * I'm not 100% sure if it's still going to Bloodlines, but it was fun to mugitize the old version of the bearded vulture from a while back.

    How did I miss this?

    This is fantastic.

    Laaate followup: I did mess with the Rhys and Magolor a little more to try to fix the issues, but think they'll just go to the archives. The vulture's beak is about at max for the hackbox. ^^;

    And here's a WIP~

Thirding the small shoulders/big head, but I like the face.

  11. ...are there giants and beanstalks too?

So, out of curiousity, anyone know where the Cavs need two more frames to be smoother?

The whole strike is 3 frames. Right before the strike, really, and maybe a blur on return.

Been working on it/assisting in beautifying the cavalier all around.

  12. Look guys if you want DoF to move faster you can throw money at the team

I got a job now and my senior research project so I'm prioritizing that but if money get then I'm more likely to make time to animate things

And nobody's touching Renair's promoted animation aside from me because as much as I complain about it that one's my baby and I will see it through

    (unless you're Yeti of course)

I wouldn't dream of it. (T2 Renair, that is.) New FEditor should also make that a lot easier on you when the time comes, so that it doesn't explode from OAM nonsense.

I don't think any amount of donation you'll see for hacking will adequately financially compensate for the amount of work that goes into animating, though, but tis what it is.
