I second the motion for EN, though.It's a completed hack (One of only two - I count EN as finished despite the fact that you are currently Axl Rose-ing it up, albeit in a much more awesome way than Axl did). It's worth it as a technical showcase if nothing else. I know everyone likes to shit on Blazer's writing, but considering he was a 15 year old kid at the time, I'm willing to make allowances. There's a lot of little interesting mechanical underpinnings to it.
Also no English teacher worth their salt will make you read Ayn Rand. ;P

I want to LP more hacks, but I'm not sure which one to LP there's so many! Is there one, past or present that you'd like to see have an LP of? Gimme some suggestions pls :D
I got one of those for you in a couple weeks.
I vote for the Last Promise; in part because I think as a hack creator you should play it.
You could play EN, as well.

DoF is a cool project with lots of potential, but it comes off as shoddy when you look at it with any form of a discerning eye. Why? Because the writers have been changed off too many times to count, and the project has gotten better in the later parts of the game, but is terrible in the early part due to the fact that the early parts were made years ago, before their creators had a lot of experience.
Frankly, I think they should restart. New maps, new challenge, updated story, etc. It'll give them a fresh feeling and it'll feel much more satisfying than what they have now.
Restarting on that much work is a death sentence. It would never get finished. Also, I am near certain they've only swapped one writer.
I am very excited to release a new patch, but the upcoming patch requires a lot of work in terms of graphics, I think about 5 new battle animations need to be made/edited plus 3 or 4 more chapters of coding need to happen. It's a lot of work to do by myself (primarily, since others are busy) so you can see how my motivation to do the project isn't exactly the highest right now. School isn't helping either when I need to maintain a high GPA, hacking a ROM for others' enjoyment isn't exactly high on my priority list at the moment.
The number of animators in the community is pretty painfully low, and I can respect a decision not to ever want to outsource for any of a thousand reasons, but I'm happy to do animation work if it comes down to the wire on what you need.
Really though, it's the last line that sums it up - "hacking a ROM for other's enjoyment' - It's generally a good life policy to avoid a hobby you yourself don't find fun anymore (unless, looking at the wording, you're just saying 'hacking is fun but no a top priority.)

i think about the most ironic part about dream of five is that marky joe did point out that the project would never be finished if they kept going back to the first few chapters and kept changing the small stuff instead of the more important stuff
Ironically, this is what happened to MarkyJoe's own project. It seems to be something of a theme.
I don't think Dream of Five's quite dead, but the team has diminished in numbers, and its primary members are now older (college) students rather than high schoolers, with far more things cluttering their schedule than previous years. Additionally, as a project drags on longer and longer, motivation to work on it tends to sink lower and lower, thus making it difficult to get back on the wagon.

It was more intellectual curiosity - 95% of their animations are just simple sprite-overs of existing animations, and the other 5% are stolen from Yeti.

I would have done it a long time ago, but FEditor doesn't support japanese roms natively. I'd have to find the animation data and point to it.
I did manually screenshot rip most of the good animations frame by frame though.
If you get them to me in that format, I can put them together for use very quickly. (I love GraphicsGale).
I'd still have to script them, though. (Easy enough.)

And also, the Nomad guy is a terrible boss, because if you have the NPC Nomad Troopers mostly alive, they are able to storm him and deal massive damage or kill him entirely
He's an even worse boss then Valter in FE8
Just...don't move her into the range of an archer?
Also I think you can end that battle in 3 turns if you play it right.
Generally speaking, I've seen the NPC Nomad Troopers mostly get whittled down and never reach him.

Either way, I think you're doing great work here. You're the one doing the work, you get to decide how you want to do it.
I've heard 'knuckle up' in the southern US states, but it still sounds awkward.
iirc venno or crayola did it like 9 months ago and pseudo taught me how to modify and use it

I don't want to be mean but you're gonna need to man up a bit, every time someone becomes successful at something, there will be haters, it's just how the world works.
Quitting romhacking won't solve this issue, there will just be new haters once you get good at something new.
Take the courage to ignore them and just pursue your dreams.
I've always found huge fault with people saying stuff like this (especially 'man up') - It puts the blame on the target of criticism, rather than the 'haters'. This community has a pretty significant negative slant.
How about we say people should learn to be less assholes to each other?

Look at the armor. The light part, which is where the light source would be aimed at, is on top, with it getting darker as we go lower on the armor. Then look at the face. The right side is well lit, the left side isn't.
The light source on the armor needs to come from the right side, not the top.
it's actually top right corner, so it is a bit above the sprite. Same light source for every FE mug, though.
And yeah, the hair needs a third shade and more defined strands and texture.

Diprosopus can occur in humans as well. A human pair had duplicated brains in addition to facial features.

Just curious as to how you can shitpost as much as you do and never get banned. You wing into random threads, insult someone, and then try to turn it on someone else whenever someone points it out to you.
It would appear to be a glitch of some sort. I'm pretty sure I have v6 but after beating the first three nothing happens, I'll try restarting with a fresh rom and see if that helps, I'm really eager to try it out.
Are you playing on a mobile emulator? My Tale unlocks became really wonky when I transferred my saves at one point.

You obviously should never listen to everyone but having respect for their opinion and expecting respect back for yours is important.
It's a grand and hilarious misconception of humanity that everyone's opinion should be respected, or is even worthy of it.
I love how this project has better graphic design, more ambitious gameplay and superior writing to any actual GBA game and people are still fucking complaining.
Personally, I'm massively fucking hyped.

I remain excited to see the final product (even though I'm one of the people who has absolutely said you could walk away at any time and it'd still be a hell of an offering, the fact that you keep going back and upping your game in the face of all this is laudable.

My guess would be that it couldn't handle the sweet, sweet music I added in.
It should be fine unless you used your Wizardry to bend the track limit or changed to higher quality samples.

But if you take a look at the Berserker's critical hit animation, you'll notice the extra frames.
Now if only we could add more frames to the cavaliers.All you'd need to do is add two frames to the Cavaliers and it'd smooth it out quite a bit.
Pretty sure Yeti either already did that or was planning to do that @extra cav frames.
Why would he, when he has his own Cavs that are much better?
To be fair anyone could do it by adding all of two frames to the Cavaliers, though.

Shockingly Brendor, not everyone learns the exact same way. In fact, it is an empirical fact of educational psychology. It's pretty counterproductive to just attempt to denigrate someone actually doing something that may actually help people.
Brendor you have a habit of implying your way is the only way when it most definitely is not.

A neat idea, but likely to get stoppered by the mug limit per scene - (unless of course you go in and load and clear faces differently).
Lucy's hair is shaded most awesomely.

She has serious giraffe neck and her armor and hair are still incredibly pillowy. Her facial proportions (most notably, her eyes) are still way off.

Yeah, but trust me, this hack's quality can't be excused by being old. Trust me, when you see just how terrible the game design gets, you'll understand.
I've seen it already. (With the giant walls of enemies).
It was also probably designed by someone who was at the time maybe 13-14.
But, tis what it is.

You realize this hack is from the Jurassic Period of hacking, do you not?
That's at least partially the reason why it is what it is. (The lack of a great number of modifications).

Pretty sure the point is for Raven to die.
The Tale loses pretty much all of its impact if he survives - Not all endings are happy ones.
