I forgot that luna can't be activated in 2 range so Ike doesn't even need nihil. Yes, because only as valkyrie she's able to attack by using swords. However I recommend to forge her a steel sword, because her strength won't be enough to kill the bishop with an ordinary sword. Each boss on hard mode has exact the same stats, weapons and pattern as on normal mode. Catalena will only move, after you have attacked her or she has attacked you, if an unit is in her 1-2 attack range. Yeah, you have to invest an angelic robe on Ike all the way and most likely a draco shield and (if you want) a secret book as well.

Yes I do! Btw I've never ever sold a masterseal. In FE9 you've enough cash especially if you play with random growths, because you can sell all the bands. A forged weapon can do wonders. It's pretty much the kickstart. Marcia and Kieran can kill easily a slow enemy with a forged iron axe / lance. After they gained a few levels, I pass it on other new allies like Nephenee and Jill. The only candidate for early bexp. is Rolf, because he needs a little bit speed. With his low base speed he can be doubled by myrmidons with an iron sword.

Yes, because in FE9 even low level units like Rolf or Marcia can catch up the other units without any problems. I forge them a weapon and try to give them as many kills as possible. It mostly works. Mist is the only exception, because she always gets very few experience by healing. So I promote her at the latest in chapter 22. She's about level 12-13. It doesn't matter for Ike's battle against BK as long as Mist still has a recovery stave.

Didn't understand the joke either. Well, I mixed it with the German name. It's called Duokles there. That's the reason, why I thought about Duo. Duo means two.

Wrath goes to no one else than to Ike, because he needs wrath / resolve to have the possibility to beat Berserk Ashnard in one turn. On lower difficulties you can give aether to Ike without question. I never give aether to Ike on hard mode, because it would be wasted (though I know aether is the best mastery skill in the game).

Will know it's my favourite Pokémon in X and Y at least in the cutie ranking. My favourite Pokémon statwise is still Duoblade. So badass!

It was only an example how beat BK. Of course it's easier with aether or nihil / wrath. However aether on Ike can screw you, if BK activates luna a lot, while Ike doesn't. Nihil / wrath is still the safest way to beat BK.

I'm pretty sure on hard mode you'll get the same bonus experience as on normal mode. Keep that in my mind that FE9 hard mode is the japanese normal mode. So it's similar to FE10. On FE9 hard mode you'll get pretty much the same total of battle experience as on normal mode. The differences on hard mode are that you'll get 5 exp. less for killing an enemy, but therefore you have to fight about 20% more enemies. So in total your units will reach the same level as on normal mode. If you save your bexp. till the endgame, you could bring 5-7 units to level 20.

Well, that explains a lot. I only play on hard mode so I didn't know about that. I took it for granted to give nihil to Ike. That's why I didn't mention it in my comment.

Considers that Jamka is an useful unit in FE4.

To bring as many units as possible to level 20 to get transfer boosts. It's waste for me, If I spend it on an unit too early, who becomes crappy later on.

When do two bishops appear? NEVER happened in my runs. A bishop and two helbardiers with a spear appear. If only one bishop appaers, it wouldn't matter. Ike can survive three hits by BK, if he has maxed defense and at least 58 HP. In the end of turn 2 Mist heals / recovers Ike. In turn 3 Ike can attack twice without healing while Mist can kill the bishop.
