We can talk what ifs all day. The fact of the matter is that other first world countries don't have mass shootings all the time like we do. I'm willing to bet that the reason for it is because they don't have a masturbatory gun culture. I recognize that the concentration of gun nuts in this country would prevent a total ban on guns from ever being implemented (especially as that would require an amendment to the Constitution) and it would likely go down the same path as prohibition and the war on drugs, but I'd like to believe for just a second that we actually have the capacity as a country to stop getting ourselves killed.

It's not just this situation. As I said, these shootings happen all the time. Maybe stricter regulations on guns won't stop all of them, but cutting down on some of them would be better than doing jack shit.

9/11 was a one time occurrence. Shootings like this happen far more often. Far too often. I'm sorry that the rest of us aren't satisfied with saying "shit happens" and hugging our guns for comfort.

I think the big point is that you wouldn't see one guy killing over 50 people and injuring single handed if all he had was a knife. This shit happens here because apparently we need our guns to keep the government from turning totalitarian (because you know that is totally the only thing preventing such a thing and that shotgun on your wall will definitely allow you to defeat a tank)

I'll take 10 well-trained police officers who know how to properly handle themselves over 20 Dirty Harry wannabes who shoot first and ask questions later.

I can kind of see what you're saying, but I feel that Chrom and Olivia aren't that similar (you wanna talk the real good birds of a feather ship for Olivia then put her with Lon'qu). And the bit about them shedding their shyness in their supports is true... except that if they marry their supports never happen. I dunno. It's kind of hard to say that making Olivia Chrom's wife contributes most to the story when she disappears from the story immediately after she's introduced.

Coal is dying on its own buddy. Climate change research didn't do that. Obama didn't do that. It's the free market conservatives supposedly love that is killing coal. Other energy sources are simply more cost effective and have a better image. Natural gas is coal's biggest enemy nowadays.

What do you mean by "inserting liberal politics into lessons"? Examples, please. I went to an extremely liberal school and the only time where what could be considered a "liberal viewpoint" was brought up in lecture was when the class was pretty much exclusively about things only liberals care about (namely climate change and conservation).

Well yeah, who do you expect the school to get behind? The students who pay them tuition money or the poor oppressed rich guy they owe nothing to? Both sides are expressing their right to free speech, they inevitably cancel each other out. Also, by the way, my above post was more suggesting that instead of simply thinking "they call what I say hate speech because they're damn dirty libruhls who hate freeze peach" maybe instead think "what about my position could be thought of as hate speech?" Because I can tell you that every time I see one of these guys complaining about people complaining about what they say, about 90% of the time what they're saying was actually hateful whether they intended it to be or not.

Maybe if what conservative thinkers speak out about is considered hate speech, maybe they should reevaluate their stance.

In regards to Blades changing outfits, I think that maybe plot important Blades like Pyra will change outfits as they get powered up (since I'm willing to bet that Pyra will probably get powered up once or twice in the story similar to how the Monado was in Xenoblade 1). Though the question remains if her powering up would make her more or less covered...
