  1. Ch1: 18 Turns

    Jagen stood on fort, destroyed pirates. Used Cain, Abel, and Draug as meatshields which came useful when preventing Jagen's death. Managed to feed Gordin a few kills (he spited me. Why does he have higher base def than speed again?) and hopefully he sucks less. Was much easier than my first H5 playthrough ch 1 with everyone, but I didn't have any meatshields then! Bosskill was super unreliable, if I rigged I could have cleared a turn earlier. Basically Gordin chipped with Steel (and hit every time, wut) and then Jagen managed to Silver the boss. Caeda chipped with Javelin (40% hit, got super lucky) and Jagen finished him off. Jagen missed his first silver though, so I had to make Wrys heal him and Jagen stand on the fort. Only Abel died.

    Gotta admit, this attempt was much easier than that other draft I did!

    Oh yeah, Silver Lance is at 5 uses already. This is going to be fun.

    Ch 2: 12 Turns

    The beginning was a mess, the later was a game of "hit or miss." Draug died, but he's either too slow or too frail to meatshield well. Sadly, so did Bord and Cord. I used 1 silver lance use in hopes of conserving it after burning it like hell in ch 1 (I had Jagen use mostly steel sword instead.) After all the enemies died (with some luck involved) I had Cain use the save point and Ogma w/steel face the boss. He critted and saved me a lot of turns. After, Ogma chipped him and Barst finished him off.

  2. [spoiler=Unit Review]

    Note: In calculating these, I haven't accounted for the units' inferior base stats as well as stat conversations.

    Serlis's combat ability actually varied more than any other unit. During chapter 6, he was pretty much god as he one rounded every unit and laughed at them with critbrave. This led him to be overleveled, and Chapter 7 isn't good for Serlis in any playthrough. Afterwards, the children units slowly caught up to his level and he was left behind. Chapter 9 he was still usable because of critbrave, but his ability fell sharply in chapter 10. Until he got Tyrfing. This sword alone made him really good because Tyrfing provides a speed bonus and is very powerful, not to mention the absurd resistance. This made him a viable combat unit in endgame.

    Hoo boy. Scathach was amazing from start to finish. The silver blade is a very powerful weapon, and Jamka provides him with some of the best stats in the game. In addition, his skills were the same as Lakche's, making them essentially equal, with the latter only being superior because of a better promoted class. He simply, would not, stop attacking his opponent until they died. Amazing. Little upset over the defense screwage, but he was rarely a main frontline unit anyways.

    I'm not joking when I say this. This Lana was the best healer I've ever had in any fire emblem game. Some people may say that Azel provides you with the best Lana, but I disagree. Her only flaw was that she couldn't fight well because she had no skills. But she could heal like a champion. Early fortify is a godsend, early rescue is a godsend, physic, warp...anything you wanted her to do, she could do it. With such a wide arsenal of staves at her hand, she most likely will promote earlier than usual. Her stats aren't half bad either, as she caps magic really easily. Amazing.

    Eh, Johalva was pretty mediocre. He couldn't kill anything without activating charge, and he uses lolaxes which kills him. Brave axe and bow aren't bad weapons for him to use though. He was most useful in chapter 10, where he could brave bow dark mages without getting countered, but his bad speed is a huge flaw against him.

    Patty is screwed by the RNG. Dammit Anna. Anyways, she started out pretty weak, in need of kills, but once she got there, she wielded that brave sword and never looked back. She critted in virtually every battle, which is impressive, and she could kill pretty well too with those thwomp stats. It's too bad she got speed screwed, she could have killed better. She was a great unit in the end, but needed a bunch of kills.

    Tinny was a goddess. She only needed a few kills at the beginning to get her going, but once she did, she was unstoppable. Promotion gave her much needed durability. She would dodge almost everything with critelwind, high speed and luck, and a Sety support. She one rounded pretty much everything with Adept, Pursuit, critelwind, and if it came to it, wrath. Magic ring improved her killing power. She's sorely underrated, especially Azel!Tinny.

    Leen actually didn't do very much early on because it was mostly Julia nosferatanking everything, but towards the end of the game, she helped a lot by allowing Faval and Sety to double kill Sleep mages and stuff. She was nowhere as useful as Sylvia though, since enemies didn't take two rounds to kill.

    Finally caught up that strength, eh? Faval was pretty weak at first because he was RN screwed, but Anna gave him her mercy and he caught up in almost everything afterwards. With a power ring and Ichival, he could one shot many dark mages and put them out of use before they could do anything. He, like Patty, was very crit happy so I saw tons of overkills by him. Excellent unit.

    Failure in life, Hannibal's greatest achievement was killing a lone troubador. He starts out so gimped that it's hard to salvage him at all, and even if you do he's nothing special.

    Well well, I see we have the champion of RNG screwedness here! Lex!Corple actually isn't very good, but he does level up fast. He was decent at physicing, but his main job was to spam restore and wake up units like Shanan. For that, he was pretty good, but by no means was he stellar.

    WHY U NO CAP SPEED?! Critsilver is amazing, that's all I have to say. She wielded that sword proudly, and with her skillset, she made one of the best bosskillers in the game. Early on, she killed tough guys like Dannan, Ovo, and she even beat Julius! Swordmasters are broken in this game, and Lakche is one of the best. It's too bad she didn't cap speed, she'd then be better than her mother!

    SHANANANANANAN, DA KING OF ISAAC! With the Balmung, he's set for endgame even at base level. It's ridiculously powerful, and if you're like me and get 50 kills on it...well yeah. He was better than Lakche after he got the Balmung, but Lakche was still slightly better at bosskilling due to Nihil. It was hilarious, he would just OHKO crit so many enemies with the Balmung and then take no damage. Really, his only weakness is leadership stars.

    And finally, the MVP of FE4 Mountless IS:

    Sety is the best foot unit in the game, no questions asked. Out of all the children, he's the LEAST likely to get screwed over. Especially with Levin as his father, he can fight very well at base, as well as use various staves. Magic ring helped him in his Tornado murdering, but towards the end he was using exclusively Holsety. It's a broken tome. IMO, Sety is the best Holsety user in the game. (Still think LevinxTiltyu is better though, even though I haven't tried it.) Saved multiple villages via leg ring. Carried the team during chapter 10-endgame.

    My god, that's quite the RNG blessing, isn't it? Anyways, Julia during chapter 6 wasn't very useful because all she could do was heal people with mend. Once she got Nosferatu, however, her usefulness rose by leaps. She was more or less the Ardan of the generation that could kill things. She tanked out dark mages in ch 7, Liza's army, Jabarro's army, and Ovo's squad! It made my life so much easier. She also promoted early and became a magical nuke that could kill things really easily. (She one rounded Trabant without any legendary weapon!) Sadly, she missed out on ch 10+most of endgame, but that's when Sety took over her duties. Once she got Narga, she walked up, kicked the ass of Julius and the deadlords, and was overall awesome. I used to think she mediocre until she got Narga, but now I think she needs to move up the tier list. Then again, you don't really need her tanking abilities in vanilla FE4.

    Grade: MVP

    [spoiler=Thoughts on pairings]

    ClaudXAideen: My new favorite after MidirXAideen. Lana becomes so good in this pairing that the early game is almost a cakewalk if you play your cards right. Better than AzelXAideen IMO because early fortify and rescue are better than being able to fight with lolelfire.

    JamkaXAyra: Another awesome pairing. The thing that sells it the most is that it gives Scathach a chance to shine as much as Lakche. Both children are amazing, and the pairing is sweet. Better than Lex, possibly Noish if you have a crit weapon.

    DewXLachesis: I dunno too much about the kids, but I know that it makes Dew's money dumping shenanigans a lot easier with Thief Sword!Lachesis.

    LexXSylvia: I should have gotten the subs, Sharlow had a 50% magic growth and a berserk staff, which is better than Corple's 25% magic growth and...well, Corple IS kinda tanky.

    LevinXFury: Many others have tried it before, it's fucking awesome.

    AzelXTiltyu: Kids are glass cannons, but they destroy so effectively. Hell, with that speed and magic growth, even Arthur had his uses!

    NoishXBriggid: Patty isn't as good as Holyn!Patty, but still excellent at combat (if she isn't speed screwed like mine.) Faval is a monster with critical and charge. If he procs speed regularly, he'll be a star unit.

    [spoiler=Final Thoughts]

    This was definitely the most fun I've had in an FE game. It was a different kind of playthrough because I got to use the units I like to use more than the ones that are just plain good. Expressing my frustrations to you guys at certain parts was also fun.

    It honestly wasn't as hard as I thought. I guess if you tried to solo the prologue and genoa with Ardan and Azel it would be much more challenging, but after that the strategies would mostly be the same anyways, just Ardan promotes earlier. I'll admit that making the earlygame mounts rule saved me some frustration, and made it easier. But anyways, it isn't too difficult, just tedious to walk units back and forth, and my turncounts are nothing to be proud of.

    Well, this is it! The End!
