  1. Elixirs are the greatest when you don't have life replenishing skills, and it's inconvenient to expose your healer for fear of him/her getting sniped off.
  2. Ummmm....I think you might have to re-word that since I don't really get what you mean. My way of "backwards" is that the birds are flying the opposite direction of where their heads are pointed.
  3. I play almost exclusively in 3D, and I can confirm that the birds will go backwards if they feel like going backwards when you have 3D on.
  4. There are birds that fly by the top of the maps frequently....backwards.
  5. Depending on how strong your units are, and how many "super" units you have by this point it is very easy to get overwhelmed simply by the sheer amount of them, especially if you are in range when the bottom group of reinforcements show up. Also weaker units which you are attempting to train may easily also be doomed by flying units from the left, and right which cannot be ran away from in certain positionings. I don't remember what I did too clearly, but I think I took a half measure in which I killed as much as I could, and ran for the boss when I realized that it was becoming too much to handle/tank anymore with my super units.
  6. Well I've finally beaten normal Lunatic Casual for the very first time! Sped through the rest of it yesterday in a few hours. Little chronicle of what happened in the final couple of chapters: Recruiting Gerome I was on chapter 18 at this point so I figured I should not wait much longer to get my children. This an extremely difficult chapter to get through since all the enemies were promoted , and had higher than average stats than the enemies in the main chapters at this point. It took many retires, but in the end I was successfully able to have Chrom, and Avatar tank everything without dying, and I successfully recruited Gerome. passed down skills were Quick burn, and Astra (From Lon Qu). I eventually married him with Lucina. Recruiting Owain and Morgan Their parents were Lissa, and Avatar. Given that Avatar had several of his stats getting close to his caps at this point they both started off with great bases. I passed down Lifetaker, and Tomefaire to both of them, and reclassed them to Tactician right after talking to them. They were so powerful already that I was able to snowball them in their own recruitment chapters, and by the end of Morgran's chapter (I got Owain first) they had both capped out most of their stats so I promoted them to Grandmaster. Owain, and Morgan were mostly paired with each other for the rest of the game. Chapter 18 - 23 These chapters usually equal Avatar/Owain/Morgan Owning House: The Game. Owain, and Morgan also both hit level 20 by the end of chapter 23, and I reclassed them both to Dark Knights (For no reason really since the game was almost over anyways) Avatar also hit his own lvl 20 again, and I reclassed him to Sorcerer. After I had recruited Owain, and Morgan I had decided that Vaike, Cordelia, Nowi, and Henry were all more trouble than they were worth, and decided to axe them. I also didn't bother to recruit anymore children since I thought my team was pretty much adequate as is. This left my main team looking like this for the rest of the game: Chrom x Sumia Avatar x Lissa Cherche x Lon Qu Gerome x Lucina Morgan x Owain Chapter 24 - 25 These chapters were very humourous since I noticed that since now my Avatar was a Sorcerer + All his stats were nearly capped I would have a little bit of fun. For these two chapters I just packed my Avatar with 4 Nosferatu tomes, threw him into the middle of the enemy army, skipped the turn, and woke up to see almost the entire enemy army gone. So yes it was cheese. The rest of the army cleaned up any stragglers who were not in the range of Avatar, and had decided to creep up on the other units instead. Endgame Grima This chapter was definitely an insane chapter mostly because of Grima. True to its nature, Lunatic Grima had absolutely insane stats, and at first I had no idea how to take him down since my attacks did so little damage. Even the idea of getting to him was a bit difficult at first since Grima's attack range was so massive, and he had a wall of units protecting him. My first several tries were devoted to seeing if I could clear the map of enough units to lessen the pressure enough so that I could focus on Grima easier. This turned out in the end to be deemed a complete failure since the enemies were replenishing too fast, and too far away to clean up properly. Plus I also had no way to clean up the goons protecting Grima. The second strategy I used was the one that worked (But could very easily fail): I decided to zerg rush Grima, and just go for it. Prior to battle I spent all of my money as well as selling several of my items to upgrade a Waste tome's accuracy to maximum for Avatar to use, and a Celica's Gate to maximum damage for Owain to use. Morgan, who was acting as Owain's support in this battle, used the Valflame I had gotten from a Deadlord in Chapter 22. In the chapter I also added Oliva, and Anna to the party for dancing, and Rescue properties respectively. I also added a couple of other random people to act as random cannon fodder, and to transport Oliva+Anna. This still took several attempts to refine, and get right, but here's mainly how it played out in the end when it was successful. On turn one it was mainly getting everyone into position into the area closest to Grima but still unable to be attacked by enemy units on the next turn. I also used a mixture of dance, and Rescue on this turn to take out one Beserker who was a piece of Grima's wall. Turn 2 was when the fun would begin. Chrom x Sumia would go in first, followed by Owain x Morgan, then Avatar x Lissa, THEN finally Oliva's dances for Avatar so that he can attack again. I got some pretty bad RNG on Ignis, and Ather procs so Grima was left with 9 HP when all of this was finished. However I got very lucky, and the attacking Grimleal didn't kill me, and Grima killed himself due to counterattack from Avatar when he attacked him. It was an absolutely glorious moment when Grima finally fell after so many tries, and I felt just like this video (I (The player) was Goku, Avatar was Gohan, and Oliva was Vegeta): So at the end of all that here is the final stats for the party that won me the game! (Although strictly speaking only three pairs actually really helped) Unit Level Class HP ST MG SK SP LC DF RS Chrom 12.89 Paladin 73 37 05 41 41 46 29 20 (MU) 12.05 Sorcerer 80 30 41 40 43 44 41 24 Morgan 02.03 Dark Knight 79 36 39 38 37 38 34 27 Owain 03.36 Dark Knight 80 37 36 36 41 44 36 22 Lissa 05.26 Valkyrie 45 12 31 24 34 31 10 24 Sumia 19.20 Dark Flier 49 22 15 35 43 31 17 29 Lon Qu 15.15 Swordmaster 46 25 08 35 38 23 18 19 Cherche 11.83 Wyvern Lord 56 34 06 26 23 21 29 08 Gerome 10.91 Wyvern Lord 63 38 08 29 30 22 30 13 Lucina 11.33 Great Lord 57 29 07 37 37 35 22 16 So now Lunatic+ mode is unlocked! Though I think I'll hold off on that mode for now, because I'm not sure if my heart can take the horrors of that just yet.
  7. I assume you mean the map sprite, but when you say "as a manakete" do you mean the normal human mode sprite, or the dragon mode one we see when combat animations are turned off?
  8. I'd like some advice on likely the best way to train an AvatarxLissa Owain with mainly the main game (Normal Lunatic on Chapter 18) in mind with low amounts of grinding. (Avatar is +Speed; -Res) I'm getting ready to recruit Owain right about now, and my planned skills for him to get passed down are Lifetaker from Avatar, and Tomefaire from Lissa. Given the skills I was planning on "trying" to make him a magic user, but I'm not so certain that's such a great idea since his natural growths don't compliment magic too well. Current Skills on the parents are as follows in case someone else has a better idea on what to pass down: Lissa: Miracle Healtouch Rally Magic Tombfaire Avatar: Ignis Veteran Rally Spectrum Slow Burn Lifetaker Solidarity
  9. I keep most of, if not all of my characters the same throughout their first promotions. Later though after their first advanced class I definitely throw them around different classes to grab some skills in it is a save that I'm going to put some extra time into.
  10. I'm willing to let it slide. This is definitely not too high on the list of corniest things I've heard, and I actually think the corn here is part of its charm. Extreme amounts of ham is awesome.
  11. I never said it was broken, and actually needed fixing. The community's experience with, and various playthrough's of Lunatic+ are evidence enough that it is not broken at all. Balance-wise it seems to work fine, because it is perfectly able to be dealt with. I am merely stating that out of design I do not like the skill very much, because it removes acknowledgment of a part of a player's effort. It's just a feeling that I get.
  12. I still don't understand though. It adds randomness to the mix instead of guaranteed hit true, but what is confusing me right now is that isn't the "possible result (Not being hit) of the now added randomness" a good one for the player? I'm saying that if anything this wouldn't make the mode too much different from it is now, and may actually be beneficial to the player in some cases, because attacks that would definitely hit with normal Hawkeye won't do it anymore. It's a chance of not taking damage, and isn't that what players would love to have to be able to get past a level easier? Why would that "complication of the outcome" be bad for the player? One of the outcomes is now not taking any damage. There are indeed rare cases where you do want to get hit, but I assume in most scenarios, you want to take as little damage as possible. Regarding the upside....it's mainly the idea that I like the idea of the player still having his Avoid acknowledged by the game. It's a rewarding feeling to the player, because they know that their Speed stat will matter in battle even if it is only just a little. Yes it is factoring in the avoid. My main issue with Hawkeye I stated before is that it didn't factor the avoid, and just resulted in a 100% hit. I didn't put much thought into my examples I'll admit, but those were just examples. If someone really decided to make Hawkeye such a skill which greatly boosts enemy hitrate, it would require some balancing as to not make it too irrelevant, or make it so that it's so powerful that you might as well proc it 100% anyways. As Interceptor said, another thing to take into account is the rapidly increasing stats of the player units in comparison with the enemy units AKA not losing relevance the later you go into the game.
  13. The way I see it, what we ourselves do probably won't matter at all. However the LEAST that we can do is to respect the wishes of the celebrities, and spread the idea that others should try to do so to out of respect. It's not the end of the world if they decide to still look at the pictures, but it would definitely be nice if they didn't. I basically call it less a case of "you are evil if you look", and more of "It would greatly appreciated if you didn't". It probably won't do anything in the bigger picture, but is just an act of common courtesy to respecting the wishes of someone who was very badly affected by such a misfortune. It's mostly just an act of conscience, and respect to a stranger that you will likely never meet.
  14. Ok I can see your point in saying that it would be harder to keep relevant as the game goes on. That's a good point. I'm simply curious though: Why would doing what I proposed make the game more complicated or difficult to prepare for? Shouldn't that if anything make the mode possibly easier in a few select parts? Because now for example your one higher speed unit has a chance to dodge the attack, while in the current Hawkeye he wouldn't be able to dodge just like all the other units.
  15. But why couldn't they have made Hawkeye be a skill that gives general all-around +50, or x2 hit? Heck I would even go with something like +100 hit (Exaggeration, but you get the idea). My point is that the concept of Hawkeye now completely ignores the Avoid on your character, making one of the aspects of battle not play a role at all. Even if it ended up with something like x2 hit, then what it would be would probably be that normal units would always get hit, and dodge-tanks would be extremely weakened in effectiveness. I like this better, because it at least still acknowledges the skill points that you have on your units. I don't have this problem with Luna+, because while it still does immense guaranteed damage, your defense will still play a role in it. I understand the role that Hawkeye is intended to play. I just do not like the way it was presented.
  16. My simple thoughts: Not looking at the leaked celebrity nude is the small act of showing sympathy to the celebrities affected, and respecting their wishes that they do not wish for these pictures to be seen...even if it is just by you. Looking at the pictures shows a lack of respect for what they would've wanted. There is no one stopping you from looking at the pictures, nothing can stop you if you wanted. It is just that one should bear in mind that the celebrities who didn't want this whole ordeal to happen wishes the fewer people who look at the pictures the better. There's no doubt that they made a mistake, and are suffering for it. But it would greatly help that we helped them suffer less by doing what they wished...even if it is in secret, and no one will realize what we are doing. To decide not to look at the pictures is as whole nothing more than an act of personal conscience. It will not do anything for the real world at all. The only thing it will do is let yourself know that you are doing the right thing in respecting the wishes of the celebrities. But....this is probably asking for too much from the majority of people these days.
  17. I personally have not yet played Lunatic+ (Still being on my first run of Lunatic normal), and from what I've read I agree that while the Lunatic+ skills are very fearsome they are all able to be dealt with properly. However putting aside simply being able to be "dealt with", there is one skill of the Lunatic+ skill pool that I dislike out of design: Hawkeye The reason I dislike this skill is because it complete negates any influence of the avoid that your unit may have. Luna+ at least will still take your defense into account, and you will still be rewarded for your unit having a high enough defense to soak it up. Hawkeye just takes the factor that it affects (Avoid), and completely throws it out the window, removing its existence for this battle completely. It is definitely able to be dealt with in various ways such as attacking in a way so that the enemy cannot attack back, or others. Later in the game, the damage might not even be large enough to matter that much. I simply do not like the skill because it removes completely one of the many factors that go into determining how a battle will turn out.
  18. I may be wrong about this, but speaking from personal experience the RNG for the event tiles is decided at the start of the match, and the contents of said tile will be the same unless you restart the entire map from the preparation screen. As for other RNG...the circumstances for the next battle, or level up will always seem to be pre-rolled just before the move that initiates them happens. This seems to result in thing like ALWAYS missing this particular attack, ALWAYS getting this 5% crit to happen, or ALWAYS getting this set of level up stats on this character. This means that even if you reload the game through a battle save the same exact things will always still happen, because the RNG is not rolled realtime, and is instead periodically rolled. A way to manipulate this I discovered is to force the game to reroll the RNG again until it is in your favor. This usually can be done by acting with other characters first, or attacking different enemies in various orders. Moving, and waiting does not seem to do anything, and the RNG reroll seems to be primarily tied to actual battles. I'd assume shadowofchaos achieved his save by doing this to the RNG until it had rolled that on NEXT ATTACK the enemy will perform a critical hit. I'm not too sure on the specifics though. In one chapter I once tried to feed the boss kill exp to one of my other weaker units, and tried to weaken him with Avatar first. The RNG seemed to have made up its mind that no matter what order I attacked in to soften up the boss, Avatar would ALWAYS score a crit.
  19. For me the dislike was because it didn't seem like her acting tough to me. It seemed more "Oh my gawds u dumb dumb n' fail!"...which naturally got on my nerves at first.
  20. Adding to what the others have responded about achievements not excusing behavior (Which I completely agree with), I'd like to add something else: FE could be the most competitive game in the entire world, and I would still not consider it a good move on the fandom's side to ridicule the efforts of less skilled players who are just playing for fun. If what you're saying turned out to be true people would basically be replying to this thread with posts that have meaning equal to: "Right on! You hit the nail on the head! How could anyone suck so badly!?" Constructive criticism for a less good player's play is fine, but I feel that the line has to be drawn when it is turned into saying you can't believe how bad someone is. For any game the people playing them having varying skill levels, and that is totally fine.
  21. I mainly have four core complainants about this game that I hope to see fixed despite it still being one of my favorite games of all time. Some may be more subjective than others: 1. Special Weapon Balance: Story/lore-wise it is very obvious that the Regalia, and so called "Timeless weapons" are supposed to be incredibly rare, and powerful weapons worthy of their legendary status. This lore implication is completely ruined by the fact that in most cases Brave Weapons just straight-up out class them. In a video game's story telling it is sometimes equally important to tell a story aspect not only through text "telling you", but how it "plays" as well. In this case the Legendary weapons should be the most powerful, and rare weapons in the game bar none to accomplish this sort of feel. However like I said the feeling was not achieved due to these Legendary Weapons being easily outclassed by easily acquired Brave Weapons. 2. Core Story: In my opinion the story of Fire Emblem Awakening was a very mediocre one which was presented extremely well, but at its core still mediocre. I really wish they had put more time into crafting the story to be more inspired, and be deeper. 3. Missed Opportunity for Actual Multiplayer: Very simple. I wanted to see online matchingmaking with actual players, which would really boost the game's already huge replayability. A problem with this though is that they may need to implement some sort of MMR to prevent new players who just beat the game for the first time getting paired up against the scariest DLC-grinder, and optimizer in the world. 4. Better End-Game/Post-Game Way to Play: This is probably my biggest complainant, but I felt that FE: A didn't have a very strong end-game. There's plenty of stuff to do (Summoning teams, and doing DLC), but it's all very repetitive. I would've wished to see an end-game mode (Or whatever) which was genuinely fun to play/grind in over, and over again without feeling at all repetitive.
  22. I have only ever gotten Inigo once so far, and his father was Stahl. I don't know if I'm just used to it (The save file in question clocks in at 110+ hours), or if it really does look ok, but I'm pretty much fine with how it looks.
  23. There are plenty of awesome moments, but here's just a random one that popped into my head from Gaius, and Tharja's support. Gaius: Hey there, Sunshine. Tharja: ...... Gaius: Look, I know I'm unbelievably sexy, but you don't have to stare so hard.
  24. I half agree with this. I should've mentioned earlier that that character rule does not decide whether or not a character is good all by itself. I believe that there are many characters out there who fail the test, but still are good characters due to other elements. What I think is that that rule only judges "part" of a character's appeal which in this case is how colorful the character is. It's one of many elements that go into a character, so it's unfair to say that character who fail the test are bad characters, but it's also unfair to say that characters who pass the test shouldn't get any points for having done it.
